  1. They build the construction to fail so they can get the repair contract next year from their "friend" in government.  [emoji846]
Your post suggest that they have a level of intelligence to think that far ahead, I beg to differ......

  2. When you said "had" it inferred getting another to do it
Can you source the products here? Whenever I look for even the basics I tend to fall at the first hurdle over here

As I said earlier probably easier, cheaper etc etc

Nobody telling you not to do it, just that it comes with a few things to be aware of......

  3. A friend back in the UK had his africa twin converted.....the rear wheel had the beads but the front did not ,he's not had a problem with either the front or rear ...over a 1 yrs trouble free motoring on and off road
Not being funny but we are not in the UK and the level of workmanship is entirely different here

For a road going bike it's just not something that I would let these guys do

Did he actually get a guarantee on the work that they would not leak after they were converted?

As for doing this on the front wheel with no safety bead I just hope he doesn't come to regret that decision.......

  4. Do you know if your rims have safety beads?
Also are you off road or main road and what size bike?

Most places (if you can find them) won't offer any guarantee against leaks when they perform this job

All in all probably easier, cheaper (in the long run) and safer to get a new set of aftermarket rims made specifically for tubeless....

  5. You don't put anything on wheel hub facings, there is no need..When you take the wheel off, road dirt wheel inevitably stick to it and you will have more problems. I have never had trouble removing wheels, brake drums yes...
We used to have problems with Ford escort and Vauxhall astra van front wheels becoming stuck on if they were'nt copper coated
Long time back but every now and then they would be as tight as hell

Just a habit of mine now

As for the discs, yes more rust than normal and probably as mentioned been cleaned with a brake cleaner so pulled all the oil out making then look worse than normal
    Paint them......

  6. By 'enough money' do you mean the lump sum of 500k Thai Baht for the 5year Elite visa?
Yes enough money for the visa, they do not ask for any other financial records

As another member quoted you can't really expect immigration to let somebody that spends so much time in place to be repetitively admitted as a tourist

Paperwork is being scrutinised more now, all immigration is requesting is that you get the correct application of visa for your stay
    Or the closest to it.......

  7. Thanks for the input, how long did it take in your instance, from application to the actual visa in your passport?

Application to acceptance was 5 weeks if I remember correctly, possibly 6 (British passport)

Got the visa on re-entry back from abroad which took less than 15 minutes

On the whole very happy so far. If I was eligible for retirement then possibly a different option but I'm not so this covers my needs

Had two marriage visas and with the timing, headaches and paperwork just knocked them on the head

To be fair when this expires I may consider the 1M 20 year but thats a ways away yet.....

  8. Remove the side circular covers to access the motor and fan horizontal mounting bolts
Remove the bolts and let the motor hang by the cable or support it if you can
The main plastic cover should then prise off the base plate secured into the ceiling...

  9. Hahahaha....!  Nothing posted about this "balance" (non-)issue is anything that needs to be kept up with!

Why would fan blades be balanced using an easily removed paper sticker?  Try to keep rational!

I've just removed the sticker and it has made no difference whatsoever (obviously, no one could reasonably think that it would) so that's that theory disposed of.  I also cleaned half of the blades and left the rest dusty and, so far, perfectly smooth running.
    Only half of the blades?

That seems like quite a dramatic experimentation, please be careful.......

  10. ...when the plastic fan was injected molded about 10 years ago.

Why does Big C, Amorn and others always seem to have a large stock of replacement fan blades?
Silly me thought it might be because of damage caused by human hand, dropping the fan, getting knocked and blown over, getting damaged in transit on the pick ups etc etc

Having read all of the posts so far I see that that was far too simplistic.....

  11.
Get a freaking job, is my advice. Or if you have money, chose one of the various Investment routes or marry your gf.

What advice would you give a guy from Nigera that wants to life in the USA???
Go there and work as an illegal non-tax paying teacher?

    The entitlement is strong here.

As you said earlier, it is until it isn't

Much the same way of thinking.......

  12. No, I don't understand your post because it's 100% wrong. If you don't understand how the TM30 report works, don't complain about it.

If you don't understand something then how do you know if it is wrong

My understanding of the TM30 is crystal clear, my point being that many "ordinary tourists" read and hear about such regulations and then.... ohhh whats the point

    Have a pleasant day....

  13. I asked you about a common tourist visiting Thailand. A tourist never ever have to worry about the TM30 report. NEVER EVER. They don't have to submit a TM30 anywhere in Thailand. They are not responsible, and never will be. Expats/long stayers, yes.
So before you're complaining next time, check the facts first.

You clearly understood my posts a clearly as I understand where my complaints were......

  14. Because Thailand only ever has band aid solutions, hence the reason I provided my answer with putting up a mesh fence, i.e. you have to start thinking like a Thai, but then again, I think "that went over the top" for some readers [emoji846]

Well my post wasn't directed at any of the forum posters, maybe that went over the top too.....555

  15. What hurdles do they place in the way of common tourists visiting Thailand? Please, mention one.
I'll use the TM30 as one example due to the complications arising from it's application

The complete lack of understanding of how it works, who is to apply it, where it is to be done and when it needs to be done
There is information available but a lot of "common tourists" will not be too interested in spending time researching the finer points and details for what should be an enjoyable holiday experience

Rightly or wrongly people read and hear about these rules and regulations and move onto the next page of the web. There they can go to another offer without hindrance before they spend any more time trying to get the full facts, mainly in part because the information out there is so innacurate and confusing people cannot be bothered to waste their time.....

  16. You can try freezing the battery in a plastic bag for 8-10 hours
This can sometimes rejuvinate a poor battery

Take it out the freezer and let it get back to room temp then try charging it fully again

Most probably it is junk already though unfortunately.....

  17. Back on topic, I agree with another poster that the tourism has a major impact on the retirees anyhow
Would you retire to a country that you had never spent a substantial amount of time in to get to know?

The more hurdles they place in the way of tourists the less tourists will come
The more unwelcome you make tourists feel they will not return
The stronger the baht becomes the less tourists will come

Without tourists you have no future retirees......
