  1. on the other hand , its so much more reassuring to be able to visit a doctor /hospital with an ailment and they will try to cure you , rather than doing their best to pad the bill and make you pay as much as poss7ble.....................and they wont charge you any money
    And they wont charge you

Yet, but that time is coming..........

  2. Don't be surprised when price increases are passed onto the private sector and insurance costs go up.
Think it's a good time to buy stock in private Hospitals and Health insurance.
    It's inevitable

Pushing the Thai dream of becoming a medical hub farther away

There seems to be some dislocation between the people bringing in these rules and the ones trying or claiming to advance certain areas of industry/hospitality, as if they dont communicate or have the same purposes......

  3. Unless you are an early riser... or don't mind the queue.
Can't you do the business in any branch once you get the account?

There are restrictions on some of the activities that branches other than where the account was set up will let you do

Banking here is an everchanging list of criteria depending on the day and the clerk.....

  4. Really appreciate the feedback. Would it put people's mind at ease if the studio really made a hardcore effort in educating and practicing super hygiene in the studio or do you feel the 'infection' risk is just always there?
Education of artists and them relaying that to customers is key...
Sadly there are still kiosks that will have an effect on the brand, they still come up in the news as spreading infections even recently..

  5. The strong Baht certainly takes the varnish off the experience

For a UK resident I think there would be better options available at the current exchange values. Certainly more consideration should be shown to other countries, more so now than a few years back for people thinking of making the move

Healthcare costs and age restrictions would be similar in any other country surely, if you have to provide for yourself? No?...........

  7. I'm sitting in the Philippines absolutely bored having been denied entry to Thailand on 3/18.  I recently applied for the 20year Thai elite card and now waiting for the background check.  The email Thai Elite sent me said the background check can take 30 days to return and the whole process can take 60 days.  I am hoping these time frames are worst case scenarios as I will be on the first plane back once it's ready.

Do you remember the time table it took to get your Elite Visa?  I've read some reviews that it only takes 18 days from the day you apply and send in a copy of your passport and photo, but recent experience such as your own would be great to hear.

    Thanks
Took 5 weeks give or take a day for the acceptance (British)

Transferred payment online and was met at the airport for the stamp which all took about 15 minutes to process....

  8. Thank you, all really good information. Will this be the process for all extensions or just the first one? Can I assume that the witnesses and photos are eliminated in the future?
Assume nothing of the sort, depending on the office you are using assume differing hurdles each time

Very rarley are obstacles removed from the process......

  9. The whole country is fickle
I actually just got my 5 year today on arrival, lets face it, it's just lining somebodies pocket very high up the food chain but it gives you a couple of perks and takes away some of the worry for repeat entries like mine

Not old enough for retirement and already had two marriage visas that were a nightmare and expensive to obtain
Never had an easy run with immigration here and tried to do everything by the book

  10. Recently I asked a female immigration officer to (entry) stamp my PP a few pages back from where my visa was , because it was a page just a quarter full and I even opened the page and asked to be stamped in on that page .
And she said "No" and stamped me on on the next empty page
Not just here, extremely annoying when you travel a lot. It's almost like they insist on using the stamp to cause the most wastage in your passport

Russian immigration on the other hand are exceptional at lining the stamps up, so thumbs up to them.....

  11. Already said above but the music is bloody annoying and the close ups dont actually help, a wider view with an explanation of the issue would be more useful

Did you really not see the tailgate scratch and the spray inside the mudflaps when you picked it up?

With all the information out there I would have thought that even the most laid back of people would be carrying out a fairly deep inspection of any newly delivered vehicle, from whichever dealership......
