Don't be surprised when price increases are passed onto the private sector and insurance costs go up.
Think it's a good time to buy stock in private Hospitals and Health insurance.

Really appreciate the feedback. Would it put people's mind at ease if the studio really made a hardcore effort in educating and practicing super hygiene in the studio or do you feel the 'infection' risk is just always there?

Infection, of any type

Whether the parlour has verification or not of clean and sterilized equipment it really is easier to not walk in the shop than take the risks......

Start with the simple stuff
Spark first before you start tearing anything to bits
Change over components from one circuit to another

Two cyls failing together would indicate a common issue leading to the pair so doubtful it's the cyls or rings

Have you got a multimeter at home......

The strong Baht certainly takes the varnish off the experience

For a UK resident I think there would be better options available at the current exchange values. Certainly more consideration should be shown to other countries, more so now than a few years back for people thinking of making the move

Healthcare costs and age restrictions would be similar in any other country surely, if you have to provide for yourself? No?...........

I cannot imagine that immigration would give a stamp for any date beyond that of 5 years from initiation of the program

Being a member and holder of the visa why not just contact customer care center directly, they have been extremely helpful and direct with me so far.......

Thanks for all the replies, the retirement visa might be the key. There are services on the web, and here that advertised getting visas, they even provide the 80k in the bank. Are they legitimate ?

I'm sitting in the Philippines absolutely bored having been denied entry to Thailand on 3/18.  I recently applied for the 20year Thai elite card and now waiting for the background check.  The email Thai Elite sent me said the background check can take 30 days to return and the whole process can take 60 days.  I am hoping these time frames are worst case scenarios as I will be on the first plane back once it's ready.
 
Do you remember the time table it took to get your Elite Visa?  I've read some reviews that it only takes 18 days from the day you apply and send in a copy of your passport and photo, but recent experience such as your own would be great to hear.

Thank you, all really good information. Will this be the process for all extensions or just the first one? Can I assume that the witnesses and photos are eliminated in the future?

The whole country is fickle
I actually just got my 5 year today on arrival, lets face it, it's just lining somebodies pocket very high up the food chain but it gives you a couple of perks and takes away some of the worry for repeat entries like mine

Not old enough for retirement and already had two marriage visas that were a nightmare and expensive to obtain
Never had an easy run with immigration here and tried to do everything by the book

Recently I asked a female immigration officer to (entry) stamp my PP a few pages back from where my visa was , because it was a page just a quarter full and I even opened the page and asked to be stamped in on that page .
  And she said "No" and stamped me on on the next empty page

Did you really not see the tailgate scratch and the spray inside the mudflaps when you picked it up?

With all the information out there I would have thought that even the most laid back of people would be carrying out a fairly deep inspection of any newly delivered vehicle, from whichever dealership......
