Not sure I understand people that don't realise this happens, are they that naive?
They go and collect all the oil in front of you to rebottle it for the lamps
The whole deal is a money making machine.....

Thats just overthinking household appliances to a whole new level.....Dirt on the blades isn't even. It can cause an imbalance, a wobble if you will. In addition, dirt on the blades will cause additional friction, which will cause additional load on the motor. Very simple rocket science... Clean it, lube it once in awhile and hope for the best.

The items are fabricated to be thrown awayThat's the trouble with the World today,it's a throw away society,
and you are a great example of it.
regards worgeordie
The parts used are cheap, poorly made and rarely available if you try to find them
There is no benefit to trying to repair a 300baht fan when you look at the time and parts cost from a practical point of view
If you are retired and bored then it can be time spent to keep you entertained if thats your inclination
Today is a throw away society, everybodies desire for cheaper products has created this....

Personally I would not be that trusting given the way things can work over hereWhat do you have to hide? If you do not have anything to hide, you can just invite them. If you refuse, they know that something is wrong and you are hiding something.
How´s that for a cheese sandwich?
There could be quite a benefit to having some witnesses around....

It's inevitableDon't be surprised when price increases are passed onto the private sector and insurance costs go up.
Think it's a good time to buy stock in private Hospitals and Health insurance.
Pushing the Thai dream of becoming a medical hub farther away
There seems to be some dislocation between the people bringing in these rules and the ones trying or claiming to advance certain areas of industry/hospitality, as if they dont communicate or have the same purposes......

Too expensive IMO, and not just for the ThaisOr, it'll bring the prices back down in Thailand for domestic consumption. This year it was very expensive for Thais due to so much bring exported.
Prices are ridiculous I think there is a little greed in the pricing too....

Have any of these planned "hubs" actually become a reality yet, and if so which ones?......

When you mention people "making a mockery of the regulations"I don't think the Thai Government cares... Like most Thai's they are indifferent to us foreigners and can take us or leave us, regardless of what we think, we are nothing special and deserve no special rights.Like many nations, it seems Thailand has decided to enforce its existing Immigration regulations which for so long people have been making a mockery of.
Unfortunately many have been caught in the mix with diminishing exchange rates and Embassies which no longer Affirm Documents which cannot be verified (i.e. income).
It seems many have translated the enforcement as 'they [the Thai Government] don't want us', I don't believe that is true. It just means we can enjoy Thailand at our pleasure if we meet the requirements, which if we are being fair are not exactly 'harsh'.
Would that be the Thais introducing, setting up and running the profitable agencies and offering options to bypass the already existing rules, or the foreigners that use the agencies for this purpose?......

From what I understand you get less mpg using B20 due to it being a lower performing fuelIs there a big difference in consumption?
It gives less efficiency than normal diesel due to a lower energy content
There is a lot more research and engine testing to be done before I would use it voluntarily....

Yep tried with the pictures, all the stores I went to only had tile edge beadsAll the larger stores do have them both in plastic and metal, you may well have had a miscommunication problem. Take a picture with you as any description is likely to lead to a misunderstanding.
eyecatcher has pictures of them being used.
After the 90 degree right angle beads for doing rendering on columns...

That the mom and pop stores then? I tried all the larger stores with no luck....every builders merchant will sell them. Big box stores do not!
They are 15bt each for the better ones, 14bt the rest. 2m long.
if you need close to 200m then you can possibly get a box of 100 for 1200bt...i did.
Thanks

Just show them that and ask for a requote, also try a different showroom.....

Would need to involve outside foreign trainers initially to set the bar, therein being the first stumbling block as they appear to refuse almost all outside influence, again with the loss of face.......How about actually opening driving schools where people are taught how to drive, day time/night time, driving in different conditions & parking included !
with a minimum of hours accumulated before a test drive can be taken by an independent test driver.. not the instructor.
Also a written test on the highway code.

Put some clearer pictures of the lock, that at least should be removable if its the only thing catching and stopping it from sliding across....
Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk -
Behind that grommet is probably a screw put in to stop the unit from sliding
Doubtfull that they fixed it into the frame and then put the glass in as that would be too much work for average builder here
Does the grommet come out or not? Is it actually a grommet or a stopper glued on?.....

The big money comes in the form of purchasing the required operator licences, operating the tours and hotels etcI guess there are taxes, or at least brown envelopes, going to the thais tho. not to mention things like bus drivers, fuel for the buses, food for the guests, room cleaning etc etc.
Only top level make real money on this type of tourism, hence the outcry of zero dollar tours
The money that trickles into Thai pockets from day to day spending and subsequent employment is negligible
Last year? There was a big dig at the industry with all the usual pomp and indignation that it is happening. As per all other big stories here it just fizzled out with what appears to have been little to no effect........

Thoughts on "will there be a Real High Season" this year?
in Pattaya
Posted
Well driving through Pattaya last night there was very very few customers in the open bars or restaurants that were open to view
Never know what "season" it is here but just now it is extremely quiet, with the exception of groups of Indians walking around the pavements
Plenty of coaches on the roads and I'm sure the hotels are doing okay
This doesn't help the small businesses though, the whole place is changing rather quickly
For better or worse time will tell.....
