  1. As anyone found a good carry on suitable to fly with, preferably soft not hard luggage. I have looked on Lazarda etc but interested on real world experience. Must suit airline dimensions and be very lightweight. Thanks.
  2. A bit of topic but it would be nice to know the training Doctors go through here. I have had good and bad. Do they train as long as western Doctors (4 -7 years )? Is the standard as high?
  3. Yes and brain damage.
  4. The government could do so much better for people like her. That money will soon be gone on essentials and probably debt. Their should be a minimum living allowance for people genuinely unable to work by reason of age or disability.
  5. I have read that report and you have cherry picked what you wanted to try and make a case. This is an American stat and not the same worldwide. I am not an EV owner and will not consider until I see how old batteries and second hand vehicles get managed in the future. Here in Issan EVs are commonplace with Thais and foreigner. Many have their own charging points tied into there solar systems, something that is harder to do in Bangkok.
  6. Why headline the article with EV collision kills bank employee when it appears that it was the driver rear ending a truck that killed him. RIP. I have never seen an article starting with a ICE vehicle kills driver.
  7. I agree you should not drive drunk and my comment was not about getting around it but more about getting an accurate result. If you are well over then giving urine or blood will show a positive result but if you are just borderline then it may help.
  8. If you think your going to be just over it may be worth going for the urine or blood test. By the time they have organised it you may have gone under the limit, plus I would probably be happier with results from a laboratory than a machine that is probably rarely calibrated. One would hope you will be given a sample for independent analysis like in thr UK.
  9. What about folding bikes? Would they count as normal luggage if under your baggage allowance.
  10. So the average smoker doesn't care about there family or health? I would have thought that was reason enough.
  11. Yes their is some offset but not substantial. Considering its an Isan village I think we got donations amounting to around 20 - 25% of the total outlay.
  12. We are talking for Thai people not farang and in an Isan village. The 3 days prior to the cremation the food and drink is consumed at the deceased house. If you read my first post you will see I did not pay anything. So if your intimating I was ripped off then your far off the mark.
  13. I don't think all villagers can. All I know is the 3 days prior to the cremation the deceased family put on food and alcohol for the rest of the village. I would think the cost is spread out with many family members. What is your experience of Isan funerals?
  14. Having first hand knowledge of this I can confirm that funerals can cost between 200,000 and 400,000 baht. This is mostly down to the 3 days of feeding the village that the deceased is from along with free alcohol. It is expected in Issan villages. I am glad my wife had the forethought to have had private insurance for her parents.
  15. From what I've read in the past they are just cutting out the middle man by going direct into the sea.
  16. You obviously have no knowledge how some of these lithium ion batteries are put together. You can have have good cells but how they put them together is sometimes criminal. If you want to educate yourself re lithium ion batteries have a look at William Prowse YT channel
  17. Probably lose more than 500 if I sold it in UK
  18. Thanks for your thoughts. I do like my bike in the UK and someone as responded that they have had batteries shipped so I will try and find out the costs.
  19. I don't want to sell in UK if I can help it,hence my question about bringing it here
  20. Yes, from what I've read that is the case.
  21. I am not saying it will. Enjoy it. I will enjoy mine.
  22. It's 250 watt UK legal. I don't want an e bike that goes as fast as a scooter. I enjoy getting exercise out of it as well. Many of the e bikes here have dodgy controllers and even more dodgy batteries that I would never leave near my house.
  23. Well I already have an E bike in UK so it would mean selling it.on and taking a big hit. It looks like I can get the batteries over at a reasonable price. The bike is a Riese and Muller, German made not cheap.
