Bangkok to equip 100 zebra crossings with traffic lights in two weeks
Wiggy replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
This could potentially make crossings even more dangerous as pedestrians (especially unsuspecting tourists) will think it’s safe to cross. -
Everybody should be eligible. I walked in to an NHS facility here (UK) two days after arriving and was in and out in 12 minutes with a Pfizer booster in my arm. That’s how you protect your country. Not still faffing around with those who are entitled for a jab. Plus, once the UK realised Omicron was already here they cancelled the red list as there was no point trying stop it coming in anymore. Omicron is in Thailand, so continue with T&G.

Pre flight PCR Test/Lateral Flow test in Bangkok for flight to UK
Wiggy replied to WalsallRobbo's topic in Bangkok
I did it last week at the Racquet Club (Medex). If you test before 8am you get the result in the evening. At check-in for my Thai Airways flight to London they only wanted to see the test certificate (I did a PCR as I didn’t realise you could do an ATK) and the passenger locator form for the UK. My understanding is that you must have a certificate to show so a home self-test would not be acceptable. You must test less than 48 hours from scheduled departure time. -

Then get rid of it. How’s that for seamless? Oh, sorry far too logical for Thailand.

Drivers of smoke emitting vehicles face fines of up to 6,000 THB
Wiggy replied to Jonathan Fairfield's topic in Thailand News
I wondered when this announcement would reappear again this year (with nothing changing, obviously). My betting was October. Darn. Could be September next year? I honestly think they’ve used the same photo as last year as well.- 47 replies

No, just a lottery; like walking on the sidewalk/footpath. -
20k THB reward for people who report law breaking motorcyclists
Wiggy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It’s not 20,000 per report. If you send in a photo you go into a draw to win 20,000. It’s in the main article. -

The future is electric: your questions about EVs answered
Wiggy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Hydrogen fuel cells (HFC) are the future. EVs will die out slowly as the infrastructure is too great and complicated to support it. Imagine, in the UK for example, where street parking is very common; how can you have a charger in place for every car on the street? It’s nigh on impossible. And used batteries are hardly ‘green’. Toyota are investing massively in HFC technology and is also the main reason why Honda are pulling out of F1; to focus on HFC development. They’re doing it for a reason. Plus, current fuel stations can easily be converted to provide hydrogen. -
Insurance policy dates for Sandbox
Wiggy replied to mahsn's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If it’s any use when I did the old COE it had to be to the end of my visa, so I’d get the 30 days if I were you. Plus the company I went with only issued them in blocks of 30 days. I couldn’t have got two weeks cover. -
So, you only purchased two months’ insurance but staying for 10 months? If so, I guess I could do the same (see my previous post). Thanks.
-
This is all very confusing. I’ll get an extension until December 31st, 2022 in December. I’m going to the UK from December 15th until March 2nd, so I guess I’ll need 10 months’ cover of some kind. That could be expensive.
