    To be fair, a "moral of a story" and "morality" are two different concepts.

    It wouldn't be so bad if we didn't know that, given the chance, they would likely welcome back Thanksin, who would do pretty much the same.

    How much does the government typically pay on subsidies to keep prices down/up to placate the masses? Maybe let the Thai populace live in the real world, tax everyone accordingly, then provide better education across the board? I'm not sure why a people that demand the latter never seems to want to accept the former.

    Sure, but for every horror story there must be many success stories where someone has basically got an income, and pretty much a free house, from doing almost nothing. You can see the temptation.

    Probably mental problems. Aren't a lot of sex workers mentally ill in some way?

    I'm not so sure about pandemic-weary. Even after masks became only recommended, nearly all Thais seem to be wearing them, even outside and away from any other people.

    Doesn't that require people to actually know a little about the subject though?

    I can't imagine much will change in the behaviour of the Thais. Will probably all be fully masked up and hosing themselves down with alcohol sanitiser until covid is but a distant memory.

    Depends on the bad stuff. Would you risk your life if something bad was happening to a kid but they weren't in mortal danger? As in, you would be happy to die if it stopped what was happening? Would you risk dying to stop a kid getting a beating?

    The way some foreigners talk about other foreigners, you have to wonder if he was a genuine good Samaritan trying to cool things down, or if he was defending the taxi driver because he's "one of the good foreigners that genuinely cares and understands the Thai people".
