has anyone any used these people , from their advertising it sounds as if they can get things done , if at a price ,
i was there this morning at 8-30, three girls with one guy who sounded Australian was with them. the main talker she had the Logo Royal Visa services engraved on her bag, one girl filled out his papers from the documents she gave to him, one dealt with drinks etc , the other accompanied him into immigration with the paperwork after about 5 minutes when it was done. they were back within 5 minutes, he paid her the published 17,000, she gave him a receipt and card and the pretty much all left. looked like a 15 minute turnaround to me
we were in the cafe were most agents go, in the cafe right outside immigration, it called Thai Aloi , i think.
all seemed calm and happy, he said to the waitress he would see her tomorrow, so look like he will be picking his passport up tomorrow
end of story, enjoyed my breakfast

"Grace" found me as well but are we sure its a "leak" at immigration. These days there are a myriad of lists with all our details being peddled and sold. Banks, Facebook, Internet forums, credit cards - they all sell and buy their lists to list compliers.
''buy mailing lists in Thailand?'' Google?

There is no need to have gone to all that time and trouble to try to catch the bikers. They are all assembled just waiting to be arrested on the private car park of the Indoor Stadium at Chayapruk 2
Every night all manner of bikers without mufflers attend, race up and down and perform stunts , they race up and down endangering other users at the park walking dogs and each other.
apparently there were two fatal accidents there last year
City Hall usually block the car park area when there are are no events on and it
avoids this dangerous nuisance occurring. They have to be prompted to do it though .
this week alone i have called 1337 6 times, i have confronted the bikers alone fac to face on one occasion and all i got was abuse and threats from them, but despite their big words about what acts of violence they were going to commit to me, x7 muscular teenagers did nothing to a lone 61 year old man. I have reported the incident to the police at Hua Yai police,Nongprue police, to officials at city Hall for the Mayor and on Monday i will be going to District office at Banglamumng at the advice of the police at Nongprue. They admit, the gangs are out of control at the indoor stadium park and they need more officers and media
attention to get results. These gangs are making my life and many others in the area miserable. I did not retire here for this and i am not scared to do something about it

From Royal Thai Embassy "Non-Immigrant Visa-O-A may be granted to applicants who wish to retire in Thailand and possess the required qualifications."
It is a retirement visa says the embassy and immigration. Maybe pendants don't agree but you are after all not the authority - the Thai embassy and Immigration are.
Why would I leave. Nothing has changed for me. I put my money in a fixed deposit account and withdraw the interest every year. I've never needed to use an agent because I can still write my name and have decent mobility.
despite your protests, you are wrong, even an esteemed expert on this forum tried to support you and your view but could not
why, because its not true, he knows as well as me, its not a retirement visa and that a retirement visa does not exist in Thailand.
i would suggest it is you who is the pedant (not a pendant) saying it is so when it is not so

Mine. Why do you ask?
most who use agents borrow the 800,000 to support the application

I use Assist Thai Visa in Chiang Mai. No glitches after 8 years, which is what I am paying for. All legal and above board.

Got my O-A retirement visa in 2005 and still here.
From Royal Thai Embassy "Non-Immigrant Visa-O-A may be granted to applicants who wish to retire in Thailand and possess the required qualifications."
you got a 1 year extension of a non O-A visa for the purposes of retirement, which you have been renewing annually since 2005
a non O-A visa is not a retirement visa and as there is no such animal as a retirement visa, you cannot possibly have it.
when i said ''still here'' i thought you would have been in Cambodia by now after that BJ storm in a teacup drama

Non-Immigrant Visa-O-A may be granted to applicants who wish to retire in Thailand and possess the required qualifications. Sure it is. I guess you are not a member of Thai Visa. ????
you still here?

It and the non-ox visa are the only visas that come close to being called a retirement visa.
Some embassies even show them as retirement visas.
regardless of that ill informed embassy twaddle they peddle to punters, there is no such thing as a retirement visa, an O-A is not it, close or not and you well know it

A Non-Immigrant O-A visa (retirement) lasts for one year, but can be stretched to two if you leave and reenter Thailand just before the one year expiration date. You will receive permission to stay for another year. If you wish to travel outside of Thailand during the second year of the O-A visa, you would need to get a reentry permit from Immigration prior to exiting the country.
An O-A visa is NOT a retirement visa

Depends on which area. That sounds like a Phuket/CM price. Bangkok is generally reported at 25K Baht.
I checked before going out for my last Non-O-ME Visa, and was quoted 12.5K in Pattaya. All I needed was that amount of money, plus a bank-account at one of 3 banks (the agent uses) to "flash" the 800K in/out of. This was shortly before the "new rules" were to go into effect. Someone posted recently the price went up to 15K, and a possible extra fee (said 500 Baht) for the 90-day "bank book report". They will also do your 90-day reports for you (~500 Baht each).
I didn't take the agent-offer - even though it would have been cheaper and saved me hassles - because I don't see how the agent can file a "legal" 90-day report for a location where I don't live. The last thing I want to do is give immigration the rope to hang me, so I stuck with the 100% legal "Visa from a Consulate" method of stay, and doing border-runs like a backpacker, to stay and support my Thai wife. Are you sure about that? Could be true, but I'd be surprised if the IOs didn't realize a financial-gain from this.
yes i am 100% sure
That may well come later when the dust settles but there has been no increase in costs for over 3 years to major agents
so anyone that tells you it has, is profiteering and you should treat them with the contempt they deserve

Well, that would be a bargain.
I know people that have used agents for years and 35 k++ is mostly being quoted.
Agents were charging 17K , however when BJ. enhanced the thai economy , hiked to 20K .
However that said , you do not have the black mail burden of 800k .
Agents , are more cost effective, Good luck .
any agents that hiked the price due to BJ are the worst scammers, nothing has changed with agents and no price increase have been made by immigration to agents so any agent who says the price has gone up due to BJ and new rules is an opportunist bottom feeder and a damned liar who scams the most gullible readers of ThaiVisa

I'm guessing if you first came to Thailand and lived in Pattaya then moved to Chiang Mai you would have had to notify a change of address. If that hasn't been done and you get found out, you could be looking at a rather large fine.
yes 800 baht

Paying an agent to do your 90 day report is pretty amazing. It takes about 5 minutes to do it online. Be interesting to have a break down to how much they charge you just for that service.
if you ilve in chiang mai and your extension is lodged in pattaya it makes sense to pay 500 bht to post it to the agent and have him do it. Its not illegal for anyone to do the 90 days. If you live close to immigration unless you have something to hide, i agree with poster above , do it yourself

"No funds required"...yes, I'm skeptical about those. Sounds shady. What we want is just to avoid obstacles - bad luck, "bad day at the office" or something.
because he has the funds to support your application your funds are not required, nothing dodgy about that, him having 800,000 is there?
