Nothing for the majority on extensions of stay for retirement/marriage originating from an O visa ….. boo !
Those holding OA visas and presumably extensions of permission to stay see their mandatory health insurance dropping from 3M baht coverage to 440k.

What about a little quiz ?This famous car ended up like this after an electrical fault in the engine bay after a MOT back in the 80’s .
It took 6 months and £12,000 (a princely sum back in the 80’s) to restore it back to its original state.
Why was it famous ?

OK. Thanks for that CL.
Of course I've eaten them when they are ripe. Didn't recognise them small.
TBH, they are a little sour for me. Dip them in honey.
There’s a lot of different types and tastes, plus there’s regular and pink.I used to eat it regularly but have gone off it recently, not really sure why.
Same with beer, used to be a real p1ss head but don’t touch any alcohol now ( except a couple of social pints on my trips to the U.K..)

So, i purchased a new tank from Lazada and fit it today.
The clunky bang sound has gone:
I checked the old tank with a chopstick as suggested and found the bladder depth to be the same as the new one.Suspecting that the bladder has split allowing the nitrogen to escape or the nitrogen has leaked via another source.
The old tank:

I have noticed the slowness of AN for a week or so already, on my iPhone and all other sites working normally.
Yesterday i had an “ event “ , i usually have several tabs of AN open for quick access and each one would open with all the tabs showing and various other info showing as if clicked, very unusual.
Today had another, all AN tabs refusing to open and and a “ download “ tab open on the bottom of each page.
Both events were gone when I returned maybe an hour later and the AN forum back to normal, loading very slowly.

I have learned that if the wall charger packs up, you have an extra lead to plug into a wall socket, but, where does the other end of that lead go, does it go into the charger on the wall and bypass what the charger does, or is it something that plugs into the car itself...
I have tried very hard to get an answer to clarify, I have now used extra words to get my answer about EV's on an EV thread clarified, if my question is beyond you, just say you don't know or ignore it.
I may have to ask on Google instead.........🤭
I explained but you chose not to understand it.Emergency/Granny charger is a separate cable that is supplied with the car it has a 3 pin plug ( for standard wall socket) on one end and the other is a plug only for the charging socket on the outside of the car, dealer supplied is usually 10 amps but can buy 3rd party cables with varying amperage, has nothing to do with the wall charger.
Now come back and say you couldn’t understand that !!

Ironically, I was trying to establish a baseline as to how few EV fires per billion miles we have had so far in Thailand, but that effort is now totally derailed.
Not if you start your own thread it isn’t.

But it's not just asking a question about EVs. I have learned a ton in this thread due to people asking questions about EVs and EV owners answering them - in fact that was the whole reason for this thread in the first place before it got hijacked by the anti-EV brigade.
You asked if the charge didn't work and someone explained you can plug it in to any socket. You then expanded by taking it to "but what if your car charger didn't work"? That's not asking a question to learn, that is a leading question because you want the answer to be "then you are bricked" and you can feel you've won because you've found the flaw. I merely pointed out all cars can have single points of failure, nothing unique to EVs or ICEVs, although EVs have a lot less to go wrong.
But by using the wrong terminology he aims to mislead and then start his famous “ you didn’t answer my question “ routine. He never said car charger, he said actual charger which is meaningless.
Flooding the thread with meaningless “what ifs” without any interest in the answers just to sidetrack a successful thread.
Playground humour at its most basic level.

Nope, I plug the other charging cable into the standard wall socket !!- 1

Are you saying there is an override cable with a 3 pin plug to plug into the house circuit, that does not use the wall charger that is fitted to the house...
If so, does it connect to a different connection point on the car...🙃
My home charger was supplied and installed by the dealer, it uses a secondary circuit from the house electrics (TOU meter) and gives me 1/2 price electricity at most times.Until this was all up and running i used the charging cable, also supplied by the dealer, into a standard wall socket. ( actually i have two of these as i bought one that will work with no earth present, necessary at the mil’s )
Both the wall charger and the granny charger ( yup, it’s not too fast ) plug into the same point on the car.

Your question:
” So if your home charger has a problem, you are stuck.......? “
My answer:
”Nope, I plug the car into the mains…… “
What more info do you need ??
As usual your questions are answered but you don’t understand the answer .

It may take several years and require a huge investment to upgrade the PEA national network before it can be said to be truly nationwide.
Most PEA Authority offices will have a charger open 24 hrs with a cheap rate on weekends and at nighttime. My mil lives in a small rural town and the charger apps were showing the nearest charger to be 19km away on the highway, using the PEA app i discovered a charger 4km away just outside of town.

Why would you buy an EV and have to charge it 150km or less away, when you should be able to charge it close to or at your own home? You are wasting your time, your charge and your money, when all you need to do when you get home is plug your EV in and charge it up.
Is charging it at a public charging station cheaper than charging at home? When you charge it at home you are free to do things that you want to do, and not hang about waiting for your EV to be charged up, that is assuming that there is an empty charging slot available, just like the one at your home.
Seems like you didn’t understand the post you quoted. If you have a home charger you don’t need any chargers near your home and only if you travel further afield will you need a charger.
I have an EV and a home charger, the nearest outside charger i have used is around 200 km away.

Thailand Post is getting worse, 2 items properly addressed and tracked to pattaya then nothing
went to the office after waiting 5 days and found them in a box on the floor, I asked the guy why not deliver to my condo - he thought is was funny, I get stuff all the time from lazada never an issue, ever wonder why lazada don't use Thailand post ?
the cannot be relied upon to deliver parcels especially to foreigners, I believe they are avoiding delivery on purpose hoping nobody will collect - then it disappears
The only regular post we get is the TrueVisions bill and they usually can’t be bothered to deliver that . They will wait until 3 or 4 have accumulated and deliver them together, 1 time they delivered 6 at once, i thought we had stopped getting a paper bill !!Live in a moobahn with a regular address, easy to find.

Check the bladder.
Remove the tank, stick a chopstick into the threaded hole. Should hit the rubber bladder after a couple centimeters. If it drops to the bottom, bladder is leaking.
Your tank cannot be recharged unless you DIY a valve, then can inflate to 1 bar. Youtube videos explain how. Easier to buy a new one that comes with a car-tire inflation valve.
Thanks, yes I saw that on YouTube, i wondered if the bladder was still intact but the nitrogen had leaked it might give me a false impression ?.Ordered a new tank from Lazada.

Assuming your system is like the sketch, i wonder if the check valve is stuck open and the water is reversing through the pump causing the shaft to thrust in opposite to normal direction possibly damaging the bearings/seals/impeller or motor bearings.
BTW, bolting down the pump frame is a good idea. It avoids fractured piping sometime later.
And, yes, watching the action closely may give you and indication if the theory is reasonable.
Similar, the check valve is on the input side of the pump and is a gravity type.
The sound is louder on short bursts of the pump, if a toilet is flushed for example the sound is barely noticeable when the pump stops.
There is zero movement of the pump and the previous pump I had ( same type ) for 6 years never suffered this it just became noisier ( running ).I donated this to a family member who put remotely and not next to their bedroom window 😒
The bang is felt more at the motor than the tank but I feel this is just a result of the lack of cushion , burst bladder or lack of nitrogen in the tank, than an actual problem with the pump itself.
After seeing someone posting a similar video on a Lazada review i have ordered a new tank.
If i get chance i will take a look at the check valve.

Have the pump frame mounting bolts loosened ?
Does the piping or pump jump around when when the noise occurs ?
The pump is not bolted down, it is very close coupled so the pipework keeps it from moving around. Will check if piping or pump jump around when it shuts off.
The main issue is the noise as it is right outside our bedroom window and even with the cover back on ( plus a diy cover i made ) it is still a loud bang.
-
I have a Hitachi pump 3 years old drawing from a tank to feed the house.
Recently when the pump stops it stops with a loud bang sound, otherwise it works perfectly.
Am assuming it is the accumulator tank bladder that has ruptured or the nitrogen has leaked causing a lack of cushioning ??
Have seen replacement tanks on Lazada for around 850/900 baht .
Assume replacing the tank is the best way to go ??
