I can picture the scene:
The van is pushing the pickup to go faster in the left lane , the pickup moves to the right lane and the van accelerates thinking he now has a clear road ahead..........NOT !!
I live near to the no. 1 highway north out of Bangkok ( close to where the van originated ) and I see it daily, it's like wacky races out there.
I don't know if these guys have a tight schedule or are trying to squeeze one more " run " in before home time .
I don't know what the answer is but the so called reforms made recently ( what reforms ? ) have done nothing to improve safety. -
Khao Pad Krapow Talay
or anything with fried rice is good for me . -
Seems like they were caught when they tried to enforce the law !!
Stood out like sore thumbs !! -
Last week my gf asked me to visit her brother at the Ramathibodi Hospital, against my better judgement we took a van and the exact same route, Navanakorn to Victory Monument.
It's been six months since I've been in one of those vans and I can tell you nothing has changed, no seat belts and a feeling of complete vulnerability as the van hurtled down the highway.
Today we are visiting her brother again and yes I drove this time, and never complained about the traffic or finding a parking place !!
Van ? Never, ever again !!

Taking responsibility is there a Thai word for it if so it seems nobody knows the meaning.
Thai for "taking responsibility " is " mai pen rai " or so I am led to believe ! -

What about if someone if talking about marrying a Thai or entering some dodgy financial deal...................
........" heeeeeeere's Mobi !! " -
You may know this chap - playing Crossroads with Bruce & Baker.
But did you know the original, centuries earlier....
About 11 years ago me and a colleague were working in Batesville, Mississippi and on a rest day decided to have a little drive around.
Well, we were driving in the middle of nowhere when we came upon this
in Clarksdale , Mississippi.
Allegedly the spot where Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil so he could be able to play the blues.
( took the photo from the net as I didn't get a photo at the time, or if I did it's been lost)

I started to watch his video thinking " let's see how the poor guy is holding up " !
Seems like like he's holding up just fine a little too fine if you ask me .
Soon into his video I lost all sympathy and found myself thinking that it was more of an update to his YouTube channel.
Don't think he did himself any favours at all, no mention whatsoever of his girlfriend or unborn child. ☹️

But that's for a landline, what about a mobile ( I know I said phone in my post but I meant mobile) ? -
My gf got upset with me for using my phone during a thunderstorm a couple of days ago, I stopped using it ( in the name of peace and quiet).
Today she shows me a photo of some charred bodies and a photo of a house being hit by lightning claiming it was due to phone use.
Now I'm in a dilemma: do I risk entering into trying to educate her and run the risk of getting my sexual favours reduced ?
Or do I agree with her and keep a happy home !
No contest really !!
" yes love, you were right, now bend over that chair " [emoji16] -
Remember the old days when we used to do a " beer run " over to Calais before Xmas to stock up on cheap beer and wine !!
Seems to have turned full circle, I'll be doing a " beer run" to the uk next month, only instead of beer and wine it'll be Bovril and teabags !! -
He plays it so effortlessly as well !!
Years of practice pays off.
Didn't pay off for me, with the tennis racket in my bedroom back in the 70's though [emoji20]-

I'm not sure it is as black & white as that. I've been overseas for 12 years and not had any issues but I've never had to renew my license. Had a couple of IDPs in this time. I know guys who have been oversees since the Falklands war kicked off and had no issues with their license. Perhaps the fact that they have property in the UK as well as employment with a UK company and a UK bank account helps.
It's certainly a grey area.
I lived and worked o/seas for 20 years for a UK company, had no property in the uk ( used my fathers as mailing address ), but maintained a uk bank account and uk driving license even though I claimed my tax back every year as non resident.
Now I'm retired and " living " in LOS I'm hoping to maintain banking and DL, just gotta be a bit careful [emoji15].

Brazil's corruption goes way back and they're very skilled at it, but eventually the truth comes out.
Thailand has a lot to learn to get to Brazil's level of thievery .
Let's hope they never get there !! -
RIP Chris
Loved his vocals with Audioslave , he had a real talent as singer and songwriter.
Great shame. -
Yes Andrew you can.
I am thinking now that it was easier to confiscate it than ask me to open it and then take it away to analyse it it didn't look or smell right. I don't know if Marmite can be turned into anything else though.
Don't know, I'm a Bovril man myself ! [emoji51] -
I've been thinking about my own experience at swampy. And your post made me think deeper.
The confiscation of the Marmite could have been because it was sealed in a glass jar. Everything else was 'soft' just like lordblackader's salami and pepperoni.
Probably the glass thing , cos you can buy Marmite in Thailand
