  1. The silly thing about these attention seeking acts of self-harm is that they drive their (former) partners further away.

It doesn't prove love on her part, but it does prove incorrect choice of woman on his part. :D

I'll have to agree with you on this one, Mighty...:D

Hey, no hard feelings for the yesterday argue

Thats it lads kiss and make up :o:D

    :D Only joking.

I haven't seen a happy couple not arguing, I'll just save the kisses for later, unless I would want all the katoeys on my tale :D

    ONLY JOKING, SAME :D

  2. In Thailand money is power and it opens doors to opportunity. People without money don't stand much of a chance. The vast majority of Thai girls from Issan area have very little chance of leading what Westerners would consider a good life. These poor girls have no chance of getting a good job in an air-conditioned office or having any form of career - most live a life of drudgery.

The only chances they have to improve their lives are winning the lottery or marrying a foreigner. Not many win the lottery. The odds of marrying a foreign man are much better. Foreign men have money. Even if you don't think you have much, you probably have a lot more than the average Thai. You may be poor in the West but quite wealthy in Thailand because everything is relative. This is why attracting Thai girls is so easy but the problems come later if the relationship isn't working out.

If for any reason it ends, the consequences are quite different for the two people involved.

The man will find himself alone for a while and it will probably be no big deal because there are plenty of other girls but the Thai girl will probably face having to go back to her old life.

It is fair to say that most foreign men treat their Thai girlfriends well and give them a taste of Western life while they are together. The girls get used to the lifestyle but if the relationship ends they are consigned - back to a drudge life.

This is the last thing the girls want and they will plead with the man to let them stay or to take them back. Some girls will go crazy, just not accepting what has happened. They will call continuously and try everything possible to get back. Their efforts to get back might range from out-and-out threats to trying to evoke deep sympathy. Hearing a girl sob day and night on the phone and then getting a call from somebody or her herself - to say she is in hospital in a very bad way isn't always easy to deal with.

Once you understand the reality of life in Thailand it can be quite heartbreaking sending a girl back to that life after you have shared good times with her.

Breaking up with Thai girls is not a fun activity. With some girls it isn't that far removed from "Fatal Attraction".

Bkk, this is one of the most reasonable explanation I've ver heard. New comers, read and follow the man's advice, he knows what he is talking.

If you consider getting a thai gf, please be cautios, think and think and think before you do it for good. Breaking up with a thai gf could be fatal, heartbraking and sometimes impossible.

    Good comment BKK

  3. Yeah, usually everybody is happy and friendly and peacfull, the problem starts when we have topics like "Ma found dead in his apartment, "Man ended his life after a colision from the 13th floor", etc. etc...I think before deciding to end their life, they are all happy and friendly and reasonable...and then, the tsunami comes in their brains and make the decision...Don't get me wrong, I am happy with my life here, I just don't want to eat their crap and act as it's something normal...

An hey, what;s all this arguing all about...I was just making a point, I wasn't insulting anybody...maybe it's the feeling of guilt in some of you guys

  4. Maybe I am out of the line, but could somebody explain how could I get a houes in Thailand without risking to loose it to a thai girl? Thanks id advance for any explanation

What many here do is have her buy the land and give you a 30yr lease for a nominal amount. Then you build a house, which you own, on the land.

One of our forum's long time sponsors handles alot of real estate, legal, and visa services so don't forget to give them a look too. http://sunbeltasia.com/

  5. You see, it's people like you who amaze me...how many good things have you seen good done by the governement in this country, it's all corruption, selfishness, greed and etc. You're telling me about the thai mafia or the russianm mafia, you're telling me it's not wise to argue witha baht bus driver and you find this a good thing? Everything they have in this country it's coming from people like us (me, you 90% of the farangs), not mentioning big investors. Everything that it's a good commercial and industrial spot in this country is the concept of a farang, no matter where from (japanese, european, american, australian), do you really think thay have the brains to actually build a good thing on their own. They started a campaign against smoking, that's good, what about the old cars and motorbikes that will kill you more than a cheap cigarrete does, wat about all the polution, what about the corruption. Girls are allowed to <deleted> for money, but they can't get into a disco unless they aren't 20, do you find this normal? You want me go on with millions of exampes of stupid things in Thailand? My friend, if you love Thailand, don't be a coward, because that's what, sleep and let somebody else worry about makes you.

I know we can not start a riot or something, but at least tell that f*****g thai friend of yours that what is he doing is "no good". We always come thinking and swearing in our own minds, buy you never have the guts to tell the thai next to you what do you really feel, why isn't it right...

I am sorry but you left me speachless...

Make sure you take your blood pressure pills tonight. :o

What attracted you to Thailand in the first place? Why do you stay there if it's so corrupt, selfish, stupid, greedy, brainless, polluted and dangerous on the road....oh....I forget....you don't like the prostitution industry either. :D

The big investors in Thailand aren't pouring millions of $$$'s into the economy because of Pattaya's bar closing times....and you might like to inform me what your individual contribution to the country is.

It's not a matter of guts in not venting your spleen to the Thai "friend" sitting next to you, it's diplomacy, politeness and good manners not to inflict your anger and lack of self control upon another person.

There are better ways of being heard and making your point.

Oh, you don't need to start a riot, you are a riot. :D

Hope to hear from you on the thai matter in a few years, I am sure all will be changed

  6. Luckily making laws in Thailand is far different to enforcement or you would have something to whinge about. :o

Brit, it's ok, I am used to all the sh*t happening around, I just don't understand why do we have t accept it. That's all. I know that if I would be thinking too much and complaining about all that's happening everyday I would end up in a looney hospital...but why do we have to support it and agree that it's right for a bar in one in the most animated resorts in the world to be closed at 1am???

  7. The legal driving age in Britain is 17. Perhaps a valid driving license should be sighted before a high powered water bike is rented to a kid.

    From news.com.au

THAI authorities will formally seek the extradition of an Australian tourist wanted over the death of a Thai man hit by a jet ski off Phuket.

The 29-year-old Australian, who has not been named, was questioned over the swimmer's death on January 25.

Police said he admitted renting a jet ski, but denied hitting anyone and was subsequently allowed to return to Australia due to a lack of evidence.

But Superintendent Police Colonel Teeraphol Thipjaroen today said officers had tracked down a witness who saw the Australian in the water near the dead man.

He said the witness testified that shortly after the accident the Australian got back on the jet ski and fled the area.

The Thai government will act on a police request that the man, believed to be from Sydney, be extradited to face charges.

The dead man, Ancon Nachaiya, 28, was found by lifeguards floating unconscious in the water off Laem Singh beach.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at Patong Hospital. A nurse at the hospital said the cause of death was drowning.

Under Thai law, jet skis may only be operated by people holding a valid Thai sea captain's licence but the regulation has never been enforced in Phuket.

Last November, NSW man Antonio Scognamiglio, 19, was critically injured in a jet ski accident off Phuket.

Nor would it seem in Pattaya....Perhaps Old Croc has a point.... :o A totally unworkable law by the Thais.

"But Superintendent Police Colonel Teeraphol Thipjaroen today said officers had tracked down a witness who saw the Australian in the water near the dead man."

I guess we all know what does a witness means in Thailand...it's a picked up "good man" who is pointng a finger.

Even though, sometimes it's ok, we all know about all kind of hooligans doing all kinds of crazy things and getting away with it. Again, it depends on how the law it's interpretated.

  8. Guys, really, what's upsetting me most is that we always find a way to understand the thai sh*t, we understand we have to pay for every single thing and gesture, we understand their culture, we understand their stupidity, we understand their laws, now we have to understand that having a good time it's too much to ask??? They always come up with new stupid rules and we try to agree with them, I think this is the reason for their actions, they push it and we try to pull it, all the time...probably in the next 2 or 3 years they will tell me that I am not allowed to leave the house after 1 am...I think you all know where am I getting to

Ranting and raving, jumping up and down, kicking the cat will get you nowhere, particularly in Thailand.

Try your verbal barrage on a baht bus driver, or a kick boxer, or a mafia member and see how far it gets you.

Try your barrage on Thai officials and the result will be the same.

All other countries have liquor laws that control operating times, why shouldn't Thailand experiment with theirs? If they get it wrong, they can and will introduce new ones.

Who knows, these new proposed laws may achieve the objective.

Yes, a lot of people will be adversely affected, particularly those who rely on liquor sales for their living.

To some extend customers will also be adversely affected but there will be many other people in the community who will welcome earlier closing times.

You have chosen to live in Thailand, nobody forced you to make that decision. If the laws of the land upset you to the extent that you are stressed out, it maybe time for you to think about buying a one-way ticket out of there.

And I thought I was a bit caustic at times.

Do you drink battery acid as a nightcap to keep the

    anger level up .

Think you need to change country.

or calm down, as you want last long here.

you cant change the way Pattaya is run.

    Have a calm day.

    Ps think your a Troll.

    Some are calling it ignorance...

  12. If the bars close at one, just get there that bit earlier, 4 in afternoon would be good, then you'd be well oiled by midnight!

Yeah, let's turn Pattaya into a playground, no bars, no discos, no a g-go's, just girls and pharmacys for the viagra lovers, hotels would also be a good ideea, are you guys in vacation only for sex? Not mentioning the ones are living here, aren't you tired just a little bit of JUST having sex?

  13. Last call at 2am and clear the bars at 2.30am would be great for the tourist and owners. I usually start early and get back to the hotel around 10-11 anyways. Like mom said " if you aren't in bed by 10 , come on home." Mini bars in the hotel with room service will keep you supplied. If its entertainment get a live one ( whatever your taste) and head out for a joy ride in the hotel. :D More fun in bed than in a bar , agree? :o

    How old are you, ilyushin?
