A sad, but very predictable outcome to this horrendous crime.
My Sympathy to all Victims, Families and their Friends.
BUT, a really serious question has to be asked.
How, in Gods name, was this man able to drive out of an Army Barracks in a stolen Humvee kind of Vehicle, and fully armed with a Gun / Guns and an obviously large amount of Ammunition.
It is well known that Security at these places in Thailand is poor, because of the stream of reports about Grenades, Machine Guns , Arm Caches, Etc being discovered hidden in ditches Etc Etc Etc.
But this tragic event takes the poor Security to a whole new level.
He was in the ammunition department so he had a the access needed.
The army should rethink of using the funds for upkeep instead of buying more submarines. You can't go to war if your personnel can't even think straight.

Whats the point wasting resources to monitor and measure? Would it make anything better other than wasting public money?

Could ask the food producers to send them some Mama noodles while waiting.

My wife has said all the media are saying they will arrest him within 3 days maximum.
Not sure how they are going to do that unless they already have someone who will take the fall?
We all know very well how Thais manage time. 3 days sounds like 3 months to me.

You must be super lucky, normally nobody from immigration bothers to pick up phone calls so getting a phone call is a miracle!

OS installed in mechanical drive. Optane only used for caching. Honestly, SSD is never been cheaper so I don't know why notebook vendors still bundled Optane with mechanical drivers. Maybe to clear stock and it makes no sense.i have a question
and no sorry i dont know where to buy a 32gb stick i just know as stated the higher you go its always more expensive than the same capacity pairing in the lower size
so my question is you have an octane stick
but this laptop also ships with a 5400rpm 1tb hd
and thats what it looks like in the photo
so what is your hd and where is the os installed
to save me responding again if you indeed still have a 5400 and its got the os throw it away install an ssd
because regardless the 5400 everything waits for that
also pull out the dvd and get a dvd slot hdcaddy

Just curios, why would you need so much ram for notebook?
16GB is more than enough and 32GB would be overkill.
Unless you laptop has only 1 ram slot and you need more than 16GB.

Only the importers benefit from strong baht, the local distributors and retailers still get things in baht. Only benefit is buy things direct from overseas, eliminating these importers and distributors.

Yes, you need to give approval to your ownself to stay in your own home. Only in Thailand!Do you need a TM 30 if you own your own house?- 1

Registered for tm30 online. After 3 weeks still checking. Im expecting to get reply after 3 months. All systems created to waste people time and benefit cronies.

If you drive middle of the night. With the ongoing constructions on Rama 2 road, it takes up to 4-5 hrs especially coming back to Bangkok.
No faster than a car then..... It usually takes me about 2.5 to 3 hrs to drive to Hua Hin from central Bangkok (about 200km).
Theoretically its possible to achieve Bangkok to Hua Hin times in less than an hour, but I fear this will not happen. At 160kmh its possible in 1.5 hrs and this may attract some without a car, but the convenience of the car and not having to stick to a schedule for many outweighs a 1.5 hr time difference.
Usage may increase when Bangkok becomes a city less dependant on cars, with congestion charges significant enough to heavily limit traffic in the capital.

China's bullet train can do over 300km/h with elevated track. Im sure Thais are not that far behind...
Is the track going to be elevated? Not sure I’d want to travel at 160kph above ground.

It won't be 160kmh the whole journey. There will be stops im between so 2 hrs+ sounds fine. It´s about 190 km to Hua Hin from Bangkok with car. Train will go more straight, which will mean about 1 hour and 15 minutes at a speed of 160 km/h.
As I said in the comment above. Can´t believe anything. Mr. Worawut needs a calculator.- 10

Its not reporting. Its actually asking permission from the owner of the home to allow a foreigner to stay.Owning the place does not absolve you from reporting.

That's the beauty of bureaucracy here. .. Create more systems to benefit the cronies and get some kickbacks in return. Doing more things = hiring more staff = more wastage. All done to make life harder for foreigners here and suck as much money as possible. I have stayed in 3 foreign countries and the others is not even close in terms of hassle just to renew visa. Imagine the number of papers you need to submit every year. Paper factories, printer makers, ink makers, photocopy shops all will be laughing and happily pocket more from the poor foreigners here!Yes - the "problem" is it is a "different system." The new "biometric" bits are probably also a "different system." Why not hire a decent IT team to build a complete-system that actually ties together all the pieces? It hurts my head to think of how their databases are structured (or "not structured").- 1

I questioned them what's the point of filling the address in arrival card and 90 days notifications, they told me its a different system even though handled by immigration. Oh yeah, I need to report to them I staying at my own place. This place is a joke, I don't know whether I should laugh or cry :) Anyway they would love to collect 800B fine for this, wouldn't they? Just make up some stupid rules to exploit the long term foreigners here.Fortunately this is not required at some offices. But to your question, they want to know where you went after leaving the airport. As the owner of the condo, you need to report when a foreigner stays there, that would be you.- 2

Not only me, but all the applicants today are surprised with this new requirement and there was another 80 queues for TM30 when we took the last queue at 3.30pm. The officers doing extension could have told us from beginning that TM30 I needed so we don't waste another 3 hrs for that. Finished TM30 at 6pm, fortunately the O extension officers waited for us to finish it off. We also argued that their website is not updated with this requirement but as usual nobody gives a damn and happily cashed in another 800B. What a joke.

Chaeng Watthana. Got all my documents ready and being told at the end I need to do TM30 due to strict enforcement. Took another queue and wasted 3 hrs more.
What Immigration Office?
Re the answer to your question above, of course it's because you're a shady criminal in waiting who's clearly on the verge of some serious offense to national security like jaywalking or slamming your house door too loud....- 1

Renewed my visa today and was fined 800B for not doing TM30. I'm staying in my own condo and argued why I need permission to stay at my own place. Wasted my whole day and things are getting worst. Why on earth do I need to report to them whenever I come into Thailand and staying at my own place!

Installing an Office NAS: 2 or 4 Bay?
in IT and Computers
Posted
Depends on your budget, just make sure the hardware is fast enough to saturate gigabit ethernet (1000Mbps) else everything slows down if you transfer huge files and many random access at the same time. 2 bay should be good enough for raid1 redundancy but having 4 bays are future proof for upgrades.
If space is not and issue, you can use a old desktop I3 gen 2 above and install freenas.
