Letter from the bank not more than 3 days old. Updated bank book copies showing it has been in the bank for at least 2 months on the day you apply.

Copies of your passport photo page, visa, most recent entry stamp, current extension stamp and TM6 departure card.

Under the new rules (March 1st this year) you will need to keep 800k baht in the bank for 3 months after the date you apply and Jomtien will want you to return in 90 days with a update copy of your bank book to prove it is still in the bank. After those 3 months you can lower the amount to 400k baht for the remainder of the year.

I will stay outside Thailand for a couple of months from February 2020. My present residence is in Pattaya where I will apply for the extension of a retirement visa. Is there a strict date after the third 3 months to present a bankbook copy at immigration or would it be acceptable to present a copy of the bank book in Bangkok and not in Pattaya after after 4 months? The money in the bank has never been touched for 2 years.

I guess you mean a retirement extension... as opposed to a marriage extension? And as mentioned, will you use 800,000 baht in the bank, income of 65,000+ baht every month, or a combination of those?

If it is of any help, I did mine, retirement, 800k in the bank, and it was exactly the same as the last time.

There have been changes wrt 'income' method.

Yes, 800 000 bank deposit schemes. I hardly remember each document I used last time...

The best thing is to ask directly to the desk in the immigration office.

If you are actually far from Pattaya let me know

i need to go to Jomtiem immigration office after tomorrow

for a residence certificate and i can ask for you if you want

I have been there, asking the persons at the desk, but they handed me out the usual form TM7 to fill in but told me that no listing of documents is available. I lack a copy of the last application.

Best advice yet, especially if you have a thai companion with you to discuss in depth what is required

I did this without a Thai spouse and not managing Thai language neither discuss deeply with immigration when they were about refusing my application for Non-immigrant O Visa because they did not believe me that this 800.000 Baht deposited in the Local bank came from my account in the USA. So, it can be done if you are willing to try it...

  6. You're a US citizen? You are working in Vietnam? In accordance with the visa agencies in Vietnam the 12 and 6 months visa or extension has been stopped for those which does not fall under special categories (working there, etc.). This issue has been discussed too in one FB-Vietnam expat group. Please let me know if you will be successful with your new extension. It might be a good idea to visit the Vietnam Embassy in Bangkok...I have tried to contact them by email but they did not reply to my questions.

It'a amazing that such horrible and dangerous conditions exist in this day and age in what some people consider to be a civilized country.

And I'll be sure to avoid all Israeli agricultural products after learning that they're the heaviest users of pesticides in the world.

You believe all that lies of the biased media? BBC is one of the best examples, they are governed by islamists.

Yes, yes, we all know that -- all seller do not deliver to Thailand.

I'm willing to believe you, but it is difficult.  I've been ordering from iHerb for about 6 years.  I order 2-3-4 times a month.  Every single package in all that time has been delivered to me.

So, besides complaining, if you have any useful ideas for getting good quality products delivered in Thailand, I hope you will post about that.

Congratulations for this volume of successful deliveries from iHerb... you are in a hurry with your listing? Sorry, if I have tested your patience...

  10. I tried to purchase some Quality Food Supplements (none cannabis products) from Amazon but all seller do not deliver to Thailand. A trial order with iHerb did not arrive either. So, in case your have made similar experiences this would defintively be a minus point for those living in Thailand and expecting to buy the most advanced medicine in the international market.

No, and in many cases they may say "no" because they don't understand what you want, or can't speak enough English to deal with you, so saying no is easier and saves face. (IMHO)

That's true, but an abrupt NO and threatening expression in her face (do not ask me again) leaves you for a moment with irritation...For this reason, I like to make my daily purchase at Central Festival where the salespersons are better educated and always friendly...

I spent 1/3 of the past few years in Thailand, 1/3 in Vietnam and the rest elsewhere.

Yes, Vietnam is behind Thailand for some conveniences - ie not many luxury condos (yet)

But they are investing and building fast.

BigC in Vietnam is almost 50% cheaper for the same items in company with Thailand. Wine and beer dirt cheap, food similar.

I don't like HCMC personally, but the north and central up to Hue / Danang / HoiAn are great.

Personally I prefer VN by a small margin, but this margin is just growing bigger. Just the no hustle visa, super friendly immigration make it worthy. It is becoming pain in the ass to stay in Thailand unless you want to waste 500k on elite visa.

How they manage to stay long term when the maximal period is 3 months? The cost for 3-4 border runs a year (if flights are used) may add considerably to the cost of living. Any other option available?
