I had to read that 3 times.

So nothing serious just battery and jail for 4 months.

Strangely my understanding is that overstay with significant ban is more of an obstacle than deportation in regards returning.

In his shoes I would obtain a visa.

Even then would fly to land border country a use land border entry.

Presumably if he applied for a visa at the embassy or online they would tell him that he has been banned and reject the application.

The Agricultural Land Reform Office (ALRO) has ordered its office in the north-eastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima to revoke the Sor Por Kor 4-01 land certificates issued to 10 people for 13 plots covering about 54.56 hectares.

ALRO Secretary-General Vinaroj Sapsongsuk said that the land certificates need to be revoked because it has been discovered that the plots in question are not “degraded” land, but remain forested.

In his urgent order to the ALRO in Nakhon Ratchasima province on Thursday, he also instructed the officials to cancel the planned allocation of 45 plots, covering 149.92 hectares to 26 individuals, although the land has been demarcated. He made clear that the land in question must not be allocated under the land reform program.

Of all the countries in the world, Australia is probably the strictest when it comes to importation of foodstuffs, and the fines can be eye-watering.

I am wondering why the OP would not simply buy nam prik in the UK, with such a polyglot nation it should be available.

Chilli is chilli, it's not as if there is any subtlety to it.

It can be bought in specialty stores and some supermarkets in UK.

You don't go home straight away in the rest of the world. In Australia you will spend some time in recovery then under a period of supervision which is not short and finally would have to have a person arrive to collect you who identifies themselves to the hospital staff and signs a declaration that they will stay with you and observe you for 24 hours and warns of criminal penalties for failure to do so. Otherwise you stay overnight.

I had a cataract operation on each eye in UK one year apart.

On both occasions I was sent home within a hour or so from the procedure. No immediate requirement for aftercare.

The hospitals advice was, unless anything untoward happens, I didn't need to see the surgeon until approx one month after the procedure.

It was very slow yesterday evening when I was trying to send money to Wise. Finally managed it but pages were very, very slow to refresh. Managed it in the end, though.

I've not used the app.  When I've tried to download it it would seem that you can't download it in Thailand.

You can have the option to add money to your Wise account direct through the Wise App.

I think there are somewhat fewer seats on this route than prior to Covid.  A friend travelled LHR-BKK on TG at end of Feb and is returning end of March -  booked a few months ago.  Was just over £1000 I believe - quite pricey for low season.  I think the era of cheap long-haul is over - although you do ocassionally see limited promotional offers on indirect flights, but usually only available for a few days and checked baggage an expensive extra.

You are right, since covid there are fewer airlines coming to Thailand.

Airlines like BA codeshare their Bangkok flights, in their case with Qatar Airways, which means fewer aircraft arrivals, but each flight is full. Hence the airlines can charge what they like because they know their aircraft will be full.

I have been in Thailand for 14 years. I had a Thai job with a salary paid in baht for the past 9 years.

So I had no need for money transfers. Until now. I have retired, and now money flows into Thailand.

Many AN members use WISE and laud it, so I decided to give it a try.

I am signing up as a US citizen.

Setting up the account was simple. Took no more than 20 minutes.

WISE used an uploaded photo of my passport and some sort of face ID to verify my identity.

The face ID opened up on my mobile in Safari and worked very well.

I connected my Capital One 360 Savings account to WISE in just a few minutes.

I then made the mistake of trying to send money, but only seeing the SWIFT option.

Of course, this was outrageously expensive and the wrong choice.

Eventually I found the correct answer, which was to "send money to myself".

I set up a simple $20 transfer to test it.

The fee was $1, or 5%, but a larger transfer would have a much smaller percentage fee, of course.

The transfer happened within 5 seconds!!!!

I have never seen that sort of delivery anywhere.

However, that is not the most amazing thing.

What blew my mind was the exchange rate.

I was looking at live USDTHB on OANDA.

The live rate on OANDA was showing 35.992.

The rate I got on the transfer was 35.9905.

I have never seen an exchange rate that good. Ever.

Needless to say, I am more than impressed.

I have used Wise for several years for different types of transactions in the Caribbean, Australasia, SE Asia US and Europe and never had a problem. It's always quick and efficient.

And just in case you aren't aware, Germany announced yesterday that it is legalising recreational cannabis.

Perhaps this is a chance for the Thailand government to modernise it's outlook and align it's laws with Germany's cannabis legislation structure.

Only legalised for home consumption. Not for cannabis 'clinics'.

The highway from just past the river, to km. 36 is an abomination. It is very dangerous, way too congested in both directions, and the amount of time it is taking is horrendous. How long has the work been going on? And how long will the additional work take? 20-30 years to build a highway in one of the most congested areas of the nation is a national embarrassment. I know it is a huge project, but is this Thailand, or Burkina Faso? Please. Of course it affects the willingness of people to make that trip south and to endure the return trip. I will only head into BKK past 9pm, or head out at 5:30am, or on Sundays.

The fact that there is NO alternative transportation to HH is disastrous. Such a lack of vision. The airport should be a regional hub, and remains one of the least utilized airports in SE Asia. That is pathetic. Heads should be reeling.

The works at Rama II is a combination of road and overhead railway.

There is an alternative to take the train.

These money changers scrutinise foreign currency pretty well. I tried with 4 different changers to exchange a USD100 note and they all rejected it for the same reason. A tiny print defect on the top edge. Even when it was mixed with other notes they all picked up on it and refused to accept it. The note was legit and the defect was hardly noticeable so it comes as no surprise this guy was apprehended

Same with me, I changed 5 legit £20 notes from my UK bank. The girl at the exchange wasn't happy with one of the notes and refused to accept it.

    She didn't explain why.

    Such an intelligent bird, though.

One cannot help but love them.

I am missing them, over here.

    I love them.

Note:  These birds have quite sophisticated ability to communicate with their own kind, such as to warn of danger, in a specific way, and I have seen them attack green and brown snakes much larger than they....

    I really love these birds.

At dusk, there are hundreds roosting on the telegraph wires along the Petchkasem Road in Hua Hin from the Municipal Building for half a km going north.

    Hello.

The Australian prescription is Duodart (tamsuloscin and ductasteride) ……but I am told that’s not available here.

So I’m looking at getting  the Dutasteride and the Tamsulosin separately….

Can you tell me what price I should pay..?

    And where to get it…

    I have the Tamsuloscin….but not the other….

Thanks and all the best …

As an aside, several years ago I was prescribed medication for an enlarged prostate, I'm not one for taking tablets so two years ago I decided to change my diet (Keto) and take daily exercise.

After three months I had lost over 12kg (26lb) my prostate returned to normal and, after consulting with my doctor, I no longer require the tablets.
