It was pointed out by a fellow expat farmer who was doing a pig operation. Everyone with some drive and get up and go has gone to Bangkok or Chonburi etc for construction jobs. What's left in Issan are the ones that don't cut the mustard, and don't care if they do.

 

When I had work on the young rubber trees I had men and women doing hand work around the trees and I ran the tractor with rototiller. Work started at 8 and went untill noon. when I got up from eating and started the tractor that was work time. Everyone complained to my wife that I worked them to much, but I kept the same hours and longer in the evening. Those that didn't work were paid at the end of the day and told not to come back. I had high turnover but it came down to a core of  5 guys who would always show up, work hard. I paid above the going rate for them, Saturday was payday, guaranteed, Food was excellent and the odd bottle of Lao Khao thrown in.

 

I'm very glad I have nothing to do with any of that anymore.

At least you were lucky they showed up in the morning. Many will just disappear on the first probation day.. I don't understand them too but my take is that they are not interested in growing wealth or anything. They just want to do nothing. And for some of those nothing is the perfect job, they are not able to do anything else..

You must join the official Helium channel on Discord ( it's an app, look for it). Then you join the Thailand subchannel. There are several people based in Thailand who ordered already but no-one has received anything yet, now the waiting queue is 20 weeks. Imho the train for this has already left, it's too late. Hundred thousands of devices have to be delivered yet before yours plus in August there will be the halving of the rewards. Just buy $HNT if you believe in it. To me this enormous queue for the delivery of the devices, stinks quite a lot.

I don't doubt they lasted 2 years but even if you bought an unknown brand not copy of Nike they would have lasted the same and you would have paid them 5£ not 10£ because that's what they are worth. What a pile of bs...if you want to work remotely from Thailand you can just open a business or directly buy your work permit from an accountant with a shelf company. It has been like this since forever, no need to deal with these idiotic requirements.

Technically that's stealing. I don't judge because internet is a grey area but I wouldn't go around loud and proud like you are doing! Also the ad blockers collect your internet browsing (check the fine print when you install them) and they can use that feature to sell your data back to advertisers networks (they can = they do it. Huge amount of money to be made). Remember that the pigs eat for free only for one reason!

What I do and how I do it with regard to the internet is none of your business.

Wrong, YouTubers get from 0 to 15000 dollars every million views just for ads (banners, pre roll videos and display ads). The amount depends on the topic and country but we can say the is average 4 dollars every 1000 views. For example if you had a VPN (oh no, you must pay for it!) you could connect from let's say..BHUTAN and you wouldn't see any advertisements because no advertisers bid for that country (just a random example). Source: I well know this!

I know it's annoying to have such an issue and zero help or apologies from the seller, but that's how they conduct business here. Take money and bye bye. I had a similar issue. All you say is true but consider this:

1)big techs grow exponentially their profits with the pandemic

2) the owners of most media are the same owners of big techs (ever wondered why Bloomberg , WSJ and so on push so hard the pandemic topics? They care about your health? No)

3) governments individuals are colluding with big techs and taking shares of the cake 

4)govt lockdowns and media validate the existence of the pandemic

When Thailand was covid free (was it?) Nobody could enter but now that infections are peaking (+Indian strain) they want to let everybody in and free to roam? My bet is that "Sandbox" model is ending like the "travel bubble" of last year. Who wants to go to Phuket during monsoon months anyway?

To stay in topic, there is no best jab. Of course the western sources will tell you that their jab is better. Really? Two elderly relatives of mines in Europe took the Pfizer and both were seriously sick up to one week with fever and cramps. But they were never sick even when they caught the virus.
