Most Thais are nice but it does happen and it does not bother me at all: I know they are hostile because their envy is overflowing to the point that they have to spit it out, and it's very okay to me.
Just look at how many advertisements show "westernised" photoshopped Thai faces. The truth is that Thais praise the western world, western products and farangs. Those who cannot afford a western lifestyle might fall into envy. Usually illiterates and not so smart peasants.
Edit: by the way "farang" is not always derogatory

I just tried to setup a Shopee account but they don't seem to like my US debit card (visa). Can anyone confirm they actually take non-Thai visa cards? There may be some other error but I wanted to rule this out first.
Shopee accepts only locally issued cards. You can find that in the knowledge base of shopee Malaysia and Philippines. Couldn't find that in the knowledge base for Sh.Thailand but I guess it's the same. There are other payment options though.

Death rate in 2020 is lower than 2015 and previous years (source: worldometers.org). Oh shoot, this doesn't fit the narrative! There's a global deadly pandemic going on, after all. Let's listen to the "qualified people" (qualified and with NO economic interests I may add..) lock ourselves at home with a good stock of beers, close gyms and restaurants and go outside just with the paper panty on our faces! Always listen the qualified people.

You're comparing choosing to smoke or drive, to catching a (potentially) deadly virus. One set is a choice, the other isn't. Simple really.
No it's not. Many people die from pulmonary diseases caused by smog and passive smoke. So?

Zero cases.
Sounds like the measures put in place are working effectively.
Well people die for many reasons. For example why don't we ban cigarettes or vehicles? The smoke causes lung cancer. People die of it. Even not smokers.
Also, being this a "global pandemic" I expect at least 10% more deaths everywhere in the world compared to the previous years. Do you have the numbers?

Been there, done that, and worn the T-shirt, I got grassed up about 12 years ago, the immigration arrested me in the bar at about 9pm one night, Which was bang out of order obviously I didn't have my passport on me I had nothing on me at least they agreed to let me go home to get my documents but wouldn't let me drive home I had to get in the cop car, I called my wife to let her know what was happening on the way home, long story short I showed them my passport and WP.
My wife asked them what was the reason for coming in the bar............? You know where we live, just some heavy handed <deleted>
My wife asked them whats going on, they said they had information I was working with no WP they gave my wife the number of the person who had made the call, with that I said you have to take me back to the bar to get my car, I just let every <deleted> in the bar know whats going on but I didn't let on I had the number,
Yep it was a farang was not difficult to find out who it was and he used to drink in the same bar, he did but not for long
Do you really think that Immigration need to come to your bar to check if you have a WP? Really? It's all in the system!
You have an average imagination too. The ending where you suggest that you got the guy killed was hilarious though.

Mind your own business.
Why? I'm directly affected by his illegal activity. That's exactly what I would call "my business". So many scared people here.

The immigration police are always very interested in information on foreigners working illegally and will take action and investigate . Go directly to immigration.
That's why I opened the topic, thanks for the answer. I wanted to know if it's worth going to Police and the answer seems like no. They won't care. But immigration will.
I already said this, but : I'm not concerned about a Thai business, some poor Burmese, an online worker, a poor Falang teacher or doing it for personal revenge, so don't worry good people of the TVF.

Yes, true. In fact I believe the guy might be registered here that's why I'm not disclosing the circumstances.

Interesting how in the whole continent of Africa, South Africa is the most infected and the only country where big Pharma's drugs are readily sold at pharmacies just like in Europe USA and Australia...it must be a case.

Thanks everyone for being concerned about my life but of course I'm not thinking about interfering with an illegal activity ran by a Thai mobster. The guy is a Falang.

I have very good reasons and it's not just my personal concern. Not about online workers or a poor man feeding his children or a 30k baht teacher or anything like that don't worry..

How do that? Should I go to the police station? Will they actually care or laugh at me? Should I send a Thai person?

The current virus, despite all these lockdowns, has killed more in 11 months than the flu (that's flu, not flue) has killed in 10 years.
So now you are just going to argue about some other silly thing and throw more untruths in to further prove your point - to yourself.
the numbers don't lie.
Have a nice day.
Of course when you die for a stroke they do a PCR Corona test and declare you dead for covid . By the way the numbers say that the deaths in 2020 are in line with the average..

They did not contain anything. They just don't test millions of people like in western countries. Testing millions of people with just 1% error rate of the PCR test returns hundred thousands false positives so there you go with the pandemic charade. It's the Bayes theorem . Most people believe that a paper panty on their face will save them from a deadly virus. So funny.

Why is it a criminal record it is just DUI ? Well never mind I never had a ticked since i got my license
since I was 18, now I am 73
It depends on the country. DUI without arrest should be on criminal record but shouldn't show up on someone's request of criminal record check (eg: employer). If DUI led to arrest it's a different story. Again it all depends on the country.

Can you buy the same device on Amazon US? I buy a lot of stuff from them, and they now estimate the duty based on your delivery address before you buy and add it to the price.
IF they manage to get the item through without Customs looking at it, they refund the money to your credit card. At first I thought it was a bit of a scam but went along with it, and to my surprise on all but 1 of the the last 7 shipments from the US they have dutifully refunded me the Customs money they took on the purchase after a couple of weeks. And the duty is never MORE than what they estimated. Seems to be an automated process. I guess they are so big now that even Customs officers give Amazon boxes some respect.
I even had a 1 cent credit to my Amex card last week because the online price had changed by 1 cent between the time I made the purchase and the time they charged me. One other thing: their supply chain logistics are now so good that generally if I order on Friday it's delivered Monday morning. Brick and mortar stores don't stand a chance against this kind of efficiency in the long term.
Unfortunately I was given a 200$ gift card for Amazon so I had to use it and ship items here in Thailand. Of those 200$ I ordered stuff for 120$ the rest was used for duties already paid to Amazon at checkout. I would never order from Amazon and ship to Thailand it's such a rip off. This is my experience though.

Hi. Hoping the troll stay away
Anyway it turns out that the only way I can resolve a lot of the <deleted> the Thai GF left me is is to locate her and either get her signed off or feed her name and location to everyone that she owes money too.
There are a lot of investigation agencies and I am wondering if anyone can recommend from experience which ones are the best and if possible an idea of the cost.
I have her id card and number so that should i think make it easier.
THANKS
Have a Thai call her pretending to be some kind of public office and let her say where she lives
Buying House in Phuket

It all comes down to where your son is going to school. You don't want to buy a house in Rawai and have to drive everyday to BIS or Headstart back and forth. That would take in total 3 precious hours of your day, maybe more.
