3 month ago, I had to pay 50.000 for something in a bank here in Thailand.
I was then joust going to transfer it from my own thai bank account. But was told that I had to go outside and get the 50.000 in cash,
from there ATM outside, as they would only accept cash payment. (And the ATM would only pay 20.000 at the time, so I had to get 20 + 20 + 10)- 1

Well. He might get a 5year Via now, without having to do 90 day reporting. And not have to sleep in a tent.

Not if you have a licence that is in English, then it is legal for around 6 months from entering the country.
You are right, But try to argue that with a Thai cop,

Balcony railings in Thailand are apparently not maid to stop you fall. (Too low)
They only make sure you fall head first. -

That would depend on where you are in the country.
Yes.
When I did it, (Had multiple entry NO-visa, 3 month allowed to stay) I took the bus from Mukdahan, and back, to get another 3 months. In all takes 1 hour to get the 3 months. Only stayed in Lao for 15 minuts.
(But then I live very close to Mukdahan.) -

The OP apparently does not want to open a bank account in Thailand. This leaves him with the only option of carring the on milli Baht on his person.
Wha is the limit for a foreigner to bring Thai cash into Thailand?
He can transfere it to my bankaccount

Well.. Yes 12 Volt is 12 Volt.
But going a long, thin vier to the svitsh and back, the vire will have a lot of resisten, and it might only be 10 volt at your light.
A Relay will make the el to the light only have to go thrue a short thik wier, and give the light all the valt it want.- 3

At 73 your reaction will not be as fast as the majority of riders on the road.
But as you wrote, with quality training and vast wealth of experience your reaction will be better, your interpretation of events will be better....
But, is your reaction better than it was 10 years ago?.... is it better than the 50 year old you? thats where age comes into and a factor one must evaluate when it comes time to hangup the helmet.
Of course, safety involves much more than age... it also involves were you ride.
There is a big difference between pottering down to the 7-11, or the beach and back vs lane-splitting and navigating Bangkok’s traffic etc...
It would also be a fair assumption to argue that the reaction of the vast majority of ‘Western riders’ here in Thailand have a better reaction than most Thai riders because they read the road ahead and predict the unpredictability rather than make assumptions which when wrong lead to a collision.
You are right, I am sure.
My reaction is not as good as my reaction was 10-20 years ago, but I still clame that it is better than many young drivers today.
Anyway, I do not usely drive anywhere as fast as I used to do, and I think that make up fore some of the bit slower reaction.
Anyway... I was only claiming that it is wrong to asume that you should newer drive a motorbike if over say 65 years of age.
But I agree that the only way to drive fearly safe in Thailand, is if you drive a armerd car, -

You need to leave the country every 90 days
Unless they have changed it, ( and it look like they have not),
You can get a multi entry Visa valid for 1 year for 5K.
And as you say it vill be with no ins/no med/no seasoned money.
When returning to Thailand, you get granted 90 days stay.
After that you have to go out from Thailand, and come back in again, to get another 90 days stay.
Youst before your 12 month Visa expiers, you do it again, and thereby, in all have 90 days X 5 on that Visa.
After that you then need to go and get a new Visa, and youse that the same way.
I have done that for years. No problem. Youst spend 30 minutes in Laos every 90 days, and come back.- 1

yellow book is associated with the house/condo you own and hence no changes even if you are away from Thailand.
Pink card is granted for rest of your life, if you get it at 60 or older. (They don't expect you to live more than 10 years after anyway????)

In most civilised countries a zebra crossing is referred to as a pavement crossing the road, and the police are quick to fine anyone who does not stop or allow pedestrians to cross.
zebra crossings do work in Thailand.
Yes in other countries they have Pedestrian crossings where pedestrians should be safe.
In Thailand they have zebra crossings. They do work. Have you ewer seen a zebra hit by a car, while crossing a zebra crossing ???????????- 2

I am hoping for Thailand – Lao border to open, but am afraid it will be some time yet because of Omicron.
Have to rely on, that they keep extending the corona extension, until it does, as they have done so far.
It is already extended until 23 Jan-2022 (Will give permeation of stay until end of marts) -

For the certificate of residency from immigration the requirements can vary from office to office. Bangkok immigration want you to be doing 90 day reports.
Moved the Thailand Motor forum.
When I got my first driving licens 5 years ago, I was told I had to get certificate of residency from immigration, but was also told to go and get the yellow house book as soon as I could, because it would make it easy next time, because then I would not need the certificate any more.
When I 2 years after, went to renew, I only had to show the yellow book. (This is at Mukdahan)- 2
