At 73 your reaction will not be as fast as the majority of riders on the road.

But as you wrote, with quality training and vast wealth of experience your reaction will be better, your interpretation of events will be better....

But, is your reaction better than it was 10 years ago?.... is it better than the 50 year old you? thats where age comes into and a factor one must evaluate when it comes time to hangup the helmet.

Of course, safety involves much more than age... it also involves were you ride.

There is a big difference between pottering down to the 7-11, or the beach and back vs lane-splitting and navigating Bangkok’s traffic etc...

It would also be a fair assumption to argue that the reaction of the vast majority of ‘Western riders’ here in Thailand have a better reaction than most Thai riders because they read the road ahead and predict the unpredictability rather than make assumptions which when wrong lead to a collision.

You are right, I am sure.
My reaction is not as good as my reaction was 10-20 years ago, but I still clame that it is better than many young drivers today.
Anyway, I do not usely drive anywhere as fast as I used to do, and I think that make up fore some of the bit slower reaction.
Anyway... I was only claiming that it is wrong to asume that you should newer drive a motorbike if over say 65 years of age.
But I agree that the only way to drive fearly safe in Thailand, is if you drive a armerd car,

You need to leave the country every 90 days

Unless they have changed it, ( and it look like they have not),
You can get a multi entry Visa valid for 1 year for 5K.
And as you say it vill be with no ins/no med/no seasoned money.
When returning to Thailand, you get granted 90 days  stay.
After that you have to go out from Thailand, and come back in again, to get another 90 days stay.
Youst before your 12 month Visa expiers, you do it again, and thereby, in all have 90 days X 5 on that Visa.
After that you then need to go and get a new Visa, and youse that the same way.
I have done that for years. No problem. Youst spend 30 minutes in Laos every 90 days, and come back.

In most civilised countries a zebra crossing is referred to as a pavement crossing the road, and the police are quick to fine anyone who does not stop or allow pedestrians to cross.

zebra crossings do work in Thailand.
Yes in other countries they have Pedestrian crossings where pedestrians should be safe.
In Thailand they have zebra crossings. They do work. Have you ewer seen a zebra hit by a car, while crossing a zebra crossing ???????????

The only thing is I have the obligation to willingly do you no harm.

I do not know if you misunderstood me, NO my health is not your responsibility.
But you should try to not give the corona to anyone. (As you rightly say " have the obligation to willingly do you no harm"
i where a mask, mainly to try not to give any Corona I might have, to others,

  5. “Wearing mask does not help. It has no effect.”

When a sergeant do an operation he where a mask. Why??

I think a mask has some effect against Covid, but do not protect you a lot.
I do however thing that wearing a mask reduces the risk of you giving the virus to others.

The virus is transmitted, in tiny water bubbles, especially if you cough or sneeze, they can carry a long way. That gets stopped by the mask.

If you say “I don’t want to wear a mask”, you are saying “I don’t want to wear a mask, it does not help me, and I don’t care about others”.

The intended group for multiple entry Non O visas was individuals making frequent visits to Thailand, not those trying to live permanently in Thailand by doing border runs every 90/150 days. Those using multiple entry visas to stay here were mostly tolerated, but most in immigration considered it a misuse of such visas.

    As such, Immigration currently considers:

    • those wanting to make multiple visits to Thailand will need to comply with the current rules involving Certificates of Entry and other inconvenient requirements;
    • those wanting to spend time in Thailand without leaving should use extensions, as has always been immigration's preference.

I was actually advised by mu imigration, to get 12 month non-O multy in Laos, and do borderrun ewer 90 days. (this was ofcause before covid). It was not my idea, but I did it because of the advise from my imigration. ( the borderrun, after alle, only took 1 houer ewery 3 month)
Now I am, for the time beeing, on Covid extentions.

  7. Some banks chek for unuselig behawior, for your securety.
If you sudently start to use a card in another contry, the transaktion might be stopped by your bank. (They think your card might have been stolen)

Some banks, have for that reason, so you can online tell them you will be in Thailand from xxx to xxx, so a transaktion from Thailand will not get stopped in that time.

I'm not sure if Thai Immigration will accept monthly transfers for Danish citizens. It's true that the Danish Embassy stopped the confirmation of income letters at the same time as the US, British and Australian embassies. However, a few months later the Danish embassy started up again for certain types of income (pensions).  It's more complicated (and more expensive) now than before, as the embassy require the entity paying out the pension to send documentation confirming the pension details directly to the embassy.

Yes .. Yiu can now get confirmation on your pention from the Danish embassy,
But in my case I do not have 40.000 in pention.
I do however have more than 40.000 in income in all, as I have some other small income  in Denmark.
The imigration rules states you need more than 40.000 income pr.md. from oversees. Not that you need 40.000 in pention.

But as your Visa expired in Nov 2000 and the next in 2001.........?

You don'n need a Visa to stay in Thailand. You need a Visa to enter Thailand,
You need a permition to stay, to stay in Thailand. If you get an extion, it is your permition to stay, that get extented.
You can not extend a Visa.
Many that have stayed in Thailand for many years, has a Vise that expired years ago.
Yes my Visa Expired in Nov 2000. And has not been reneved. I went to Lao for one hour before it expired, and got a new 90 days permition to stay, when I returned.

Was after that 90 days soposed to go to Thai embassy in Lao for a new Visa, but because of Corona, the border was closed.
Therefore I have stayed on Corona extentions sins.
