Most people look at the prices of food on menus before they order. The restaurant charges the same for all customers so it's above board with no double pricing. He wouldn't be charging those prices if he didn't have customers willing to pay it, and he must have a lot of Thai customers as tourists are few right now. If he can't get sales at his prices, he's the one to suffer apart from some people that don't look at prices before they order.
So what? Do you agree that it is a bad answer or not?

Please Understand that the restaurant owner's only excuse is that most of his customers are foreigners. Everything else is irrelevant. This makes his behavior bad publicity both for his restaurant and for Thailand.

What horribly bad fact reporting. The headline says....
Covid-19 from Tachilek found in 7 Thai provinces
Seven? Then why does article only mentions one province by name?
I suppose the the woman from Sing Buri province is actually now in Sing Buri province (though the article doesn't actually say that clearly). The article also does not mention which province the 5 health care workers are in, but as they eat lunch together one would guess they are not in 5 separate provinces.
So at best the article gives us only:
- 1 clearly stated province
- 1 ambiguously stated province
- 1 unknown province
With basic math, that's 3 provinces not 7.
Even with the fuzziest of math, it's no more than 4 or 5 provinces max!
Ugh.
I have in else news read about five provinces that have had at least one infected of those sneakers. That is Chang Rai, Chang Mai, Phichit, Sing Buri and Bang Kok.

I live in the province Phitchit. During six years, snakes inside house, three times (but a lot more often outside). Scorpions, two times outside.

Another nail in the coffin for tourism to Thailand, will the regime ever realize or care about the importance of tourism for the country?

One can have fast people walking, and slow people in carts. When someone on this thread works out what on earth you are talking about, please let me know.
I have done it my self, if that is accepted. It is exactly what you are saying. If you are driving a cart or not is not the main reason to if the ball is fast or not.

Locals will allow faster groups to play through, even farangs, BUT your caddy needs to ask them if it's ok to play through. In the 15 years I've been playing golf in Thailand ( Phuket, Pattaya, Bangkok & Chiang Mai ) we've NEVER been refused. You need to realise that the Thai players are so focused on the gambling they are involved with they are completely oblivious to others on the course. Since moving to CM, I've played in mostly 5 or 6 player groups, admittedly in carts ) and our average round takes 4 1/2 hours. It takes the same amount of time for a group of 4 walking to play a round here, so I don't understand the complaints at all about groups of 5 or 6 players unless they are all walking.
I do not really understand your reasoning. On the other hand, I think it is quite short-sighted. If you are to abide by the international golf rules, both pedestrians and golfers in cart are approved, so I do not really understand your statement there. Many people play golf precisely because it gives them the opportunity for a pleasant sport in a pleasant environment with pleasant social gatherings, while you get out and move yourself for a couple of hours. You miss most of this by driving around in a golf cart (unless your definition of pleasant socializing is just sitting next to a caddy). Furthermore, if we continue to adhere to international rules, the game itself will take exactly the same amount of time, regardless of whether you walk or ride a golf cart. What can differ is the time for movement between the holes and then it is mainly dependent on the design of the course.

A really strange and unsustainable idea. More holidays will only make workers poorer by moving money to the rich in the country. There are only two things that can increase Thailand's economy and that is to increase exports and in every way work to get more foreign currency. None of this is supported by this idiotic proposal.

I can see the advertisement in front of me. "Visit a prison, meet one or two killers in real life. Maybe you do not survive, but do not worry if that happen, we would take care of your funeral."

No, they are people who have money. Gee, what a concept.
Bangkok is not undeveloped and your comment is naive and indicative of one who has obviously never been here.
If a person does not have much money, then they have difficulty figuring it out. Not everyone is poor and cheap.
Tiger Woods spent 20 million on his yacht. Why? Because he can...
Thanks for that Smarty, from one living in Thailand since 2012, of which one year in Bangkok and I know perfectly well that there are "underdeveloped" areas in Bangkok. Do you Smarty knows the difference between a country and a town? No, I do not think so.

Are millionars and billionars idiots? Who else would spend that amount of money to be locked in for 14 days in an undevelopment country? Some dreamers do just not have borders in their idiozy.

Lets get a few things straight here, as many of you commenting don't appear to be golfers or have any idea what you're waffling on about.
1. The only time a player is required to have insurance to cover injuries is if the player's ball hits another player when being called up on a par 3. Incidentally, calling up on par 3's was banned back in the mid 90's by both the R&A, the USGA and most other international golf associations when insurance companies started refusing to make payments related to injuries sustained on par 3's and being claimed on the golf course's insurance policies.
2. Golf courses MUST have insurance that covers the following:
a. damage to property adjoining a golf course that is the result of errant golf balls, e.g broken roof tiles, windows etc.
b. public liability to cover ALL persons on a golf course, whether player, caddy or course employee who may be injured by errant golf balls etc. The ONLY exception to this is if the injury is the result of some bad tempered idiot throwing his clubs. Then the club thrower is responsible for the costs to the injured player.
3. What on earth was the caddy doing that far ahead of the player. As stated in another post, too lazy to go to the tee with the player. Therefore caddy is 100% at fault.
4. The caddy straight out demanded 500k baht as compensation. To ask for that amount she obviously is well aware of the maximum payout for injury under the types of insurance that players can take out. So even though she may have legitimately been injured, she's scamming the player.
5. If the caddy continues to insist that the player has to pay and he does, then the player is well within his rights to sue the golf club to recover the amount he pays the caddy for her injury.
I've been involved in amateur & professional golf internationally as an administrator and inside the ropes at pro tournaments, so these are the facts, NOT an opinion.
In saying all the above, I do have to say that amateur golf in Thailand is very poorly organised and run both by the golf courses and the TGA, so I'm not at all surprised that this has occurred.
Sorry to say, but you have some faults there, at least if we are talking about Thailand. Rule 1. Never the less the length of the hole. You hit the ball when the caddy say it is ok. If you then hit someone in front of you the responsibility is the caddys and the course will fee the caddy. 2. There is no such rule about insuranse in Thailand. Just walk out on any golf cource in Thailand, that have buildings close to the hole and you will see signs, telling that you have to pay for any damage.

She should have turned the other cheek?
Caddies should turn their back on players hitting balls in their general direction?
Just like hopefully people cover their eyes when walking past someone welding or using a grinder.
Et al..
As they say common sense is not very common.
You just have proof the truth in your last sentens. As your idea of turning the back to the player is as smart as walking on the wrong side of the road so you not could see the closest danger.

Caddies should of course be covered by their employer, the golf course. This is normal practice for most work places.
On most of Thailands golfcourses the caddies are not employed by the course. They are selfemployed with the right to work on the course. So following your reasoning it is the caddy who should pay the insurance, just like they have to pay the golf trolley.

A friend of mine bought a new car five years ago. With red plates, they leaved Chonburi to travel to his gf:s home village. There they was stopped at a checkpoint and get a fee of 6000 baht. 1000 baht for each province border they had passed. No one had told him that he had to fill in the book.

Amazing Thailand. I am of course not sure that it is so, but I have until know, never heard of any country where a dentist gives a prescription of cocain for pain in the teeth. Common drug-users, here you have your chance.

I had to buy a new phone a couple of weeks ago as my old Samsung 5 stopped working. I bought a phone from a brand I never heard about before "realme". It has a big screen, four cameras and a much better battery capacity then my old one had. I am very pleased with it so far. I paid 3 500 bath and that included a one month prepaid phonecard.

Hey come on. 100 000 would not even cover the hospital bill if you get infected.

Before you get to happy. Yes, this is good news for the tourism industry, but not for the countrys GDP. It is just about moving around money within the country. No country could survive on that.
