Thai Court rejects dual pricing case from expat in Hua Hin
XJPSX replied to webfact's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am News
They always have and always will charge farangs more….because they can. I have top health insurance and the operations I have had in Bumrungrad have costed more than they would in my own country. They definitely price gouge us. Probably why they do me same day and straight to front of the cue. -
Dual pricing has as much chance of being eradicated as corruption. In their blood and they do it because they can.

Prominent doctor calls for one-month delay to Thailand’s border reopening
XJPSX replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
They do need to open. People will not be flooding in here as travel is not cheap and they must be vaccinated. Also, there is not much open and the uncertainty of the government “changing their mind” would also be a deterrent. Many businesses will only hesitantly open when hotels start filling which may not even be this year…so start bringing people in I say. -
Over 84% of Thailand’s COVID fatalities had not been vaccinated
XJPSX replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Not a surprising figure when only 15% of the population is fully vaccinated. -
Ex-police chief ‘Joe Ferrari’ has 600 MILLION baht in assets
XJPSX replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Lay off him. He is just a good saver and trades a few cars. I am sure there is another hand picked hopeful waiting in line to take his job by the boys up top. Probably out for tender before it even hit the news. -
Never married no wife and no kids at 50. Very happy living solo and get no grief. Have a “friend” that i can meet for dinner and take out as she is self sufficient perfect English and doesn’t want a full time relationship either. They are out there! Tried the live in thing and it doesn’t work for me…I’m too selfish and know / admit to it.

Bangkok named No.1 among 150 ‘workation’ cities worldwide
XJPSX replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
I work here and after a year of BKK made the choice to go home or move to another part of Thailand. Glad I did and that was 7 years ago. BKK is ok for 3-4 days then time to leave! Not sure what the prerequisites were for the workation title but obviously not complied correctly. -
Thai PM faces parliamentary grilling as protests persist
XJPSX replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Basically every Thai I know regardless of age and wealth do not want him. It’s not just youth or students or middle lower class etc…this guy ain’t popular nor is the current system. Most very firm on their opinion much to my surprise. Can’t see anything changing as those in power incl military have too much to lo$e -
We were told the figures by the man in charge the figures WOULD drop this month and I am certain that he will make sure they DO drop. He may be the only man in the world that can predict Coronavirus figures. He may have magical powers. I will leave the rest to you to work out how we have had a dramatic turnaround ???? However I do believe what he is doing is correct if the economy is ever going to open again and people eat.

The worst part about all of this is he is trying to defend how he accumulated all of his worldly goods. Just give up mate for goodness sake! Your were on 43k a month! The police should save themselves the embarrassment and silence him…but I suppose he will have good reason why he was on camera puting a bag over another persons head and now they are dead.

Fugitive police chief 'Jo Ferrari' surrenders

That’s for allocating cash…probably donated from a Chinese businessman. -
Identical beers tasting very different
XJPSX replied to cyril sneer's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
My RSL had beers in one fridge that tasted different to the other. One was in the sun all day and the other wasn’t. I have also experienced this before and it is particularly a problem in clear bottles. If beer is left in the sun it goes bad. I would say 50% of SML I buy has no fizz even if I buy from Makro who move a lot of it. Heat and sun will kill your beer and Thai’s just don’t store it properly away from heat. -
I don’t think money ever changes hands if you are a cop in Thailand. I have seen a few brown paper bags change hands followed by a free meal though.

Thai police use water cannon to tackle protest against PM
XJPSX replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
All the young Thai people I know are fed up. They don’t mind the protest. I am shocked with how many of them think likeminded on political opinions. The boys at top are screwed with the new generations coming through. Things will certainly change or Thailand will get very messy. -
Have lived in both and prefer Jomtien…dark side well worth a look as well. There are so many better places than Pattaya to live but each to their own.

I don’t wear my mask when riding my bike. At 34 degrees I struggle to get enough air inside me. I have not noticed foreigners not wearing masks in HH. There is nowhere to go anyway and cannot get in anywhere without a mask. I think it’s ok to not wear a mask as I do at Pran Buri beach…there were 8 people on a 3-5km beach. Hardly a health risk.
