Yes your spot on, savannaket was the go to place because it was so easy,4 back to back visas no problem, then it all changed they started getting very strict, and your dead right they were asking for Thai bank statements.

Yep I agree I thought the same thing, a tourist wouldn't have a Thai bank account, but that's exactly what they asked for. Fact.i have shown my Thai bank account at, Vientiane, Penang, Phnom Penh and savannaket.

I have successfully applied for a tourist visa many times at the embassy in Phnom Penh showing funds in my Thai bank account.using a Thai bank account is most definitely ok.so what you say is not correct.

(1)When changing from old to new passport can this be done at any Immigration office or only at the one in the area where you have an address ? (2)Is the embassy letter needed if you arrived here visa exempt instead of a visa?My embassy said as I arrived on a visa exempt and have been on extensions ever since they are not sure if the letter is needed.

Yep, the process of getting covid extensions at Jomtien seems to have changed again. Last time it was 3 trips to immigration, this time around it seems like its going to be 4 trips..Tommorow you won't need to go into the building, there will be a table outside at the gate, just hand your ticket and collect your passport.easy.
