OK - I took the plunge and watched the clip.......... did you watch it, or what happened between what you saw and what you wanted to see/hear? He points out the difference between NEDC and WLTP, complains about the touch screen integrated A/C controls (couldn't agree more! that is idiotic, but not unusual these days) but other than that, it is very favorable review........... e.g. 'this looks and feels every bit like a premium car inside' - his words, not mine! My suggestion: Watch the clip again, but first turn off your biases........just listen, watch with an open mind. Then please report back with a summary.

All the reviews I watched on YT were at best lukewarm on the Toyota (or Subaru twin), none of the testers outright recommended this EV. Of course it is a Toyota, the nameplate will still sell a bunch, negative press notwithstanding.

Stands to reason that due to their Chinese parent company and the common platform (SEA) the marketing appeal could broaden, but I venture to guess that Geely will want to use the Volvo brand as their exclusive, high end vehicle.

You are funny - a timer or remote controlled switch is of course doing exactly that, turning the charging pile on when you want to charge.....or are you one of those individuals that wears suspenders and a belt? ???? As for programming the charging pile to work without RFD card, this is how to proceed: IMPORTANT: on the phone with the MG app running, Bluetooth, location, WiFi and cell services ALL have to be turned on. go into the charging menu via the 'Charging' icon Step 1: connect the phone to the charging pile via Bluetooth while the car is connected to the wall-box and charging Step 2: click on the icon per arrow 2 Step 3: on the new window that opens, select card free Step 4: a new window pops open, slide the selector to 'on', save, exit VOILA! no RFD card is required ever again, life is easy, life is good.......no worries anymore!

Paul - I already mentioned to you on another thread that the MG wall charger can be programmed to operate without the RFD card. In that mode, it is possible to use a timer or via an app to operate the charger timed to your choosing. I believe the RFD card is for chargers installed in public places, for private properties it makes no sense. Pity the installer could not instruct how to use the charger properly. If you need help to set up the charger sans RFD card, let me know.

I am not a Tesla fanboy. With that out of the way - the crappy Tesla build quality actually applies only to US made Tesla's, the Chinese get high reviews, even from customers in Germany. I know, this comment will infuriate the China bashers, but there are a good bunch of videos on YT with US and Chinese models compared back to back on the same dealer lot. Last but not least, the US models are getting better, too, just be sure not to fall for what Tesla fanbois label 'luxury' car - except for the price there is not much luxury about Tesla's.
