  1. ouch........... this will hurt Tesla 1,599,000 for the top model!
  2. Our sales girl hinted at this range, but I discounted it as unrealistic. If this is in fact the price range, it will put insane pressure on the Tesla M3.
  3. Nothing till tonight - not even a confirmation of the 'Rever Care' package as is plastered all over FB.
  4. Just test drove the BYD Seal performance (3.8S) - done deal if they pay enough for my MB trade in ???? My biggest gripe is the black interior (no other color option). They also replaced the piano-black middle console cover with a drab plastic cover - why on earth this was decided on is beyond me, looks so much cheaper. Compared to the Tesla Model 3 LR, the ride is close, acceleration is on par, everything inside is more high quality, it has a real instrument cluster in the dash, the heads up display is very nice, build quality is excellent...... and it looks a lot better. The 'space grey' color is drop dead gorgeous.
  5. Another EV on fire...........ooohhhhh wait, wrong forum - its a Toyota, hence it cant be an EV. ????????
  6. Interesting idea - apparently the plan is to sell BEV below the price pint of C-segment ICE vehicles, chiefly because they plan on using the tax incentives offered by the Thai government for this purpose........giving it to the customers, instead of pocketing it as additional profit?
  7. I didn't know that von der Leyen is trying to meddle in the electric vehicle business in Thailand - is she? Even after 103 pages, the topic is still 'Electric Vehicles in Thailand' - why do some fanatics constantly try to bring in their narrow minded political blabber? Sometimes I cant help but think they must be paid for doing it.
  8. I much prefer the light colored interior, the black one loses a lot of the design appeal, mimicking the drab German coal-mine obsession.
  9. BYD Seal is getting ready for test drives on Sept 28............ who else will be testing it? Prices and details will be announced on 9/28 as well.
  10. ...............and all this relates to 'Electrical vehicles in Thailand' in what way? FOCUS!!
  11. There is a twist to achieve this that I rather not discuss on a public forum. Suffice to say, it is one of the things that make Thailand a great place! ????
  12. The elephant in the room is the installer, or the lack of service they will provide should you have a problem during the warranty period, or even more so 10 or more years after installation........... ask me how I know.....lol With that said, find an installer that has plenty of experience installing solar systems - its a very very simple job for installers with plenty of system installs under their belly. Ask for referrals of prior installations in your neck of the woods. Once you found a handful of installers, specify tier-1 equipment (Huawei inverter, Longi, Jinko or equivalent panels etc) then squeeze them for the lowest price, take the lowest bidder. A mid-sized system should have a payback of less than 4 years - thanks to high electricity prices. Don't install a hybrid battery system, they will never pay back the investment - but there might be other reasons why batteries make sense. One more comment about installers: I have yet to meet one that knows anything about maximizing efficiency of the solar array, that's why they are called installers.
  13. Here is a solid support for the worn out claim the Chinese are stealing technology from Western companies..........NOT! https://carnewschina.com/2023/08/02/germans-are-waiving-the-white-flag-in-china-as-vw-plans-to-use-ev-platforms-from-leapmotor-saic-and-xpeng/
  14. A farang posted on FB that he already made a deposit on the Seal ????
  15. That's a matter of taste - I like the BYD Seal interior, certainly much superior to the Ikea interior of the Tesla!
  16. There is no roof glass delete option for the Tesla - they all have a glass roof.
  17. BEV mobility is simply not yet assured with the Swiss cheese charging network presently in operation in Thailand. One aspect easily forgotten in in such a discussion is the possible wait for an available charger. Solution: Reservations are needed to get access to a charger - and that is the most hare-brained nonsense I have heard in regards to BEV mobility: Imagine you need to make a reservation a day or more in advance to refuel a regular car! For the doubters, just read some Thai BEV chat groups to comprehend the consequences - and all this is with an insignificant number of BEVs in operation, scaling it up will no doubt make this into a tragedy someday as out of control BEV owners at some point will lose their cool, and use pitch forks and tire irons to get to their reservations........ The real solution is an over-saturation of very powerful high Amp chargers - who wants to bet how far in the future that point is reached in Thailand? 20 years? 35 years........50 years? Thailand is PHEV country for the next 20 years.
  18. As was to be expected:
