Not completely correct. The are issuing them but their wording for them is a bit odd.

    See: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/notarial-and-documentary-services-guide-for-thailand#covid-19-visa-extension-applications--support-letter

    Thank you Joe.

Do you know anywhere I can see the form of words the British Embassy are using.

Another possibility in my case is that I am unfortunate in that I suffer from a comorbitity that makes both air travel and travel to a country with one of the worst records in handling covid inadvisable.  In fact those are the real reasons why I am so keen to avoid travelling to my home country now.

Seeing the form of words used by the British Embassy would help me decide whether to contact them, my doctor, or possibly both.

I sent a letter to the UK by EMS on 27 July.

Eight days later it is stuck in a backlog of post either:

    (a) at Suvarnabhumi as the Parcelforce tracking system tells me; or

    (b) in an unscanned backlog in the UK as the Thai post office asserts.

I am updating this as the information may be helpful to others.

This item of post sent by EMS arrived at its destination in the UK today.  From posting the letter in Chumphon to arrival at destination in the UK took nine days.

It is clear from the updated online tracking record that the delay was at Suvarabhumi airport.  Once the letter arrived in the UK it was delivered by Parcelforce in less than 24 hours.

  4. Back in the 90s I used to fly with a Thai friend of mine out of Sriracha airfield in Chonburi which accommodates General Aviation.

One time he pointed to the biggest and fanciest aeroplane at Sriracha and told me that it belonged to Red Bull.

In the 90s there were no immigration or customs controls at that airfield and my guess is that remains the case.

If the admitted until date on your arrival stamp is April 15th you are already on the amnesty unless you applied for a 60 day extension.

You visas expiration date means nothing now. You would be extending the 90 day entry from your visa.

Before deciding on using the agent you need to think about the cost of doing it.

I am sure you will not be able to do a border hop until after June.

Are you sure on that interpretation Joe?

The reason I ask is because I was in my local immigration office on 22 May 2020.  I was there to get a letter confirming my place of residence for a vehicle purchase.  They pulled my details up on screen which showed that my last 90 day entry was on 27 December 2019 until 25 March 2020.  I extended my stay at their office by 60 days until 24 May 2020.

They told me on 22 May 2020 that I am lawfully here until 31 July with no need to extend my stay or do further 90 day reports until then.

Your interpretation seems to suggest that I am unwittingly an overstayer which is pretty alarming to me.

  6. We have three Honda UMK435T brush cutters.

The Honda is excellent for quality and reliability.  We use them for farm work so they get plenty of heavy use.  We run them on gasohol 91 and, of course, there is no pre-mixing fuel with oil.  You do have to change the engine oil every now and then but you can do that in under a minute and they take 60ml of oil.

We used to use Robin prior to changing to the Hondas over a decade ago.  They are very popular with Thais but I found them unreliable, hard to start and they use way more fuel than Honda.  Perhaps it would be more accurate to say the Robin is highly recommended by repair shops.
