Riddle me this one.
My intention is to apply for a twelve month extension of stay based on marriage. I have not made such an application before.
I married my wife in the UK 26 years ago. That marriage has not been registered at our local amphur.
To register the marriage at our local amphur and issue a Kor Ror 22 the amphur insist they must have a copy of the marriage certificate certified by the British Embassy and 'legalised' by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) based in Bangkok.
According to gov.uk the British Embassy in Bangkok will not certify marriage certificates.
Enquiries to the MFA in Bangkok elicit the response that if the British Embassy in Bangkok will not certify the marriage certificate I can travel to London and the Thai Embassy there will certify it. For a variety of obvious reasons I have no wish to do that.
I can satisfy all other requirements including financial for an extension of stay based on marriage. It is just this Kor Ror 22 issue that has me stuck.
Any suggestions?

I think this requirement maybe reflects the fact that Thais have fairly limited options as to what they can actually do with their money.
How many times have you read of some bent politician or cop who has pretty much all their money in multiple Thai bank accounts earning about zero interest plus a bunch of 'hi so' cars that depreciate like crazy, perhaps a few watches and some properties that nobody wants to buy with dodgy titles or other issues .
Perhaps they assume that in the west people have similar comedy investment options.

It depends on the bike.
If it is something like a Dream or a Wave buying the part new may well be cheaper than buying silicone spray.
I recently replaced an unpainted black plastic part on an old Honda Dream I have and it was 120 Baht. My reason for replacement was not cosmetic but whatever the reason it's pretty cheap.

Was Kenneth's MG not designed at Longbridge like the current MG vehicles ?
Most likely it was designed in Abingdon or Oxford. I am no MG expert but it was most likely a pre-war model so 1939 or earlier.

I like this photo from today's Daily Telegraph.
Newspapers in the UK don't come much more right wing than the DT.

Exactly.
Add “and assembled and serviced in Thailand”. What could go wrong?
About 5-6 years ago I stayed in a hotel in Chonburi city every weekend for a few months. It was just before their reintroduction and 3-4 were always in the hotel car park with the new model car disguise checkered paint. I remember laughing to myself thinking as if anyone would want to steal their design and copy them.
if someone started a topic about Tata, all the Indians will be telling us how wonderful they are.
Or maybe a Lada will bring out the Russian defenders.
Still doesn’t make them any good. Some car brands are famous for being well built and reliable. Some brands are infamous for having a poor build quality.
I would be very surprised if MG are still around in five years. They usually fold every decade or so.
You still don't get it do you?
There is absolutely no connection between the Chinese cars sold as MGs in Thailand and the MG driven by Kenneth Moore in the movie Reach for the Sky released in 1954.

Rupert Murdoch-owned conservative media outlets in the United States, including Fox News, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Post, began saying “if and when” a Trump loss becomes clear he should preserve his “legacy” by showing grace in defeat.

Because of 4 cylinder rubbish performance, rubbish handling, rubbish build quality and I suspect they will have rubbish servicing standards in Thailand.
it is well documented, one of the main reasons they have gone broke so many times.
I wouldn’t buy one, that is my opinion, if you think they are good, then go ahead. They are cheap. I wonder why?
UK cars are infamous for their poor build quality. I suspect the only people defending them are from the UK who have taken it personally.
China is also infamous for poor build quality. They will continue the MG tradition I am sure. There is just about no connection between British MG and the Chinese manufactured MGs sold in Thailand now other than the octagonal badge.

I reckon it is going to take a wooden stake, a crucifix and garlic to finally get him out of the White House.

Sata are hex sockets.

In this market go for Sata. You will find them on Lazada.
Sata are a Chinese brand but they are excellent quality and reasonably priced. The company is a joint venture with an American tool brand but I don't remember which one. I used Sata for the best part of a decade when I worked in China and I have five tool chests full of their tools here in Thailand.
I actually reach for the Sata tools first in preference to the British and German tools I have from quality brands such as Britool and Stahwille.
I generally try and avoid Chinese products but the one exception I make is Sata tools.

That's a Honda UMK and that blade is not standard.
The blade will be 'Flying Monkey' brand or similar.

Thatcher was the root cause of Barnsley's problems since 1980 or thereabouts.
When I was young I swore I would use her grave as a toilet.
My views have moderated now but not by that much.

If you lived in Barnsley death would be an option worth considering.
This illustrates one of the problems with the internet. This was a post intended to be amusing and based on my personal experience of Barnsley and seen in the context of preceding posts I assert that it was.
Yet if you formed your opinion based on responses to my post pages later you might conclude that I was some Nazi hell bent on pushing old people into the gas chambers.
That is totally untrue and pretty much the opposite of my position.
If you look at the history of people who responded I think a fair few can be categorised as trolls on a variety of subjects.

What about a new O-ring for the pilot screw?
Maybe. My main reservation with aftermarket rubber carb parts is how well they will cope with gasohol. I know the factory rubber parts are OK but I have never tried aftermarket. Something like the O ring for the pilot screw is not immersed in fuel so I think it would be fine.

I can believe that.
The secret of my success with bikes in Thailand is that I do everything myself.
The only thing I trust bike shops here to do is swap tyres and even then I take the wheels out myself.

But it's only 65 baht and he can use certain o-rings.
That is a fair point and I probably should remember that he only paid 3000 for the whole bike!

Personally I would go with genuine parts if they are needed; particularly with precision parts like jets and needles and rubber components. I know for sure that the genuine rubber parts can cope with gasohol.
That said I think it unlikely anything will need replacing. Maybe the float bowl seal and I vaguely remember at least one time I gave up on trying to unblock an idle jet on some bike or other.
A fair percentage of the stuff in that Lazada kit is make-weights that you are highly unlikely to need.

I have a 2001 Dream which has the same engine and carb. Owned it from new.
Nine times out of ten if there is a problem it is dirt or contaminants in the fuel.
Remove carb. Strip carb and clean. Make sure jets are not blocked. Put it back together. Check fuel filter and replace if necessary.
-
Well you don't know my capabilities.
For me this swap is kids stuff as it should be for any competent bike shop.
And the parts are surprisingly cheap.

My 87 year old aunt does not agree with this woman. She cannot because she died from Covid in April 2020.
