  1. If you use CW, why not just get the letter the same day downstairs from Immigration? I usually make a small transfer from the B800K account in the morning before I leave. Go to immigration and book the queue. Go to the bank downstairs and ask for the letter (letter takes 10 min) and update the book. Take the book to have copies made. Stop at the bank and pick up the letter. Get a coffee and go back to immigration.
  2. I read the story. It says: "Luckily Liam’s friend has supported him through this but is only able to visit him for an hour a day so we know nothing about the other 23 hours of his time/ treatment." It does not say the hospital is limiting visitation, it only says that the friend is only able to visit him for an hour a day. It has been my experience that Thai hospitals are generally very accommodating with visitors. In any event, if Liam is in the ICU, it makes sense that visitation would be very limited, if allowed at all.
  3. Where does it say the hospital is limiting the visitation?
  4. Why should you not have to pay if you have no insurance? In any evert, in the US you only have to pay if you have money.
  5. Yes, clearly it time that all non-Thais are barred from owning, renting and riding motorcycles in Thailand.
  6. We still have six weeks to get it figured out. In any event, if you have a medical emergency, you could still transfer $200K a day to the hospital. I generally use a credit card at the hospital. This seems pretty clear to me:
  7. I have several accounts at Krungsri, one of which was opened with the pink ID. But they would not change an existing account opened with a passport to the pink ID.

  10. What do you need clarified? What is going on is that in six weeks or so you will have to go to a branch and have a photo taken. You mean hyperbolics like "But sure, you die on the hill of it is all going to plan..."
  11. I think Bangkok has about 2.24 times the population of Berlin, and generates about 2.16 times as much garbage...
  12. I think New York City has about 2.4 times the population of Bangkok and generates about 5 times as much garbage...
  13. People talking about different branches telling them different things. Wow, that seems like really solid intel, particularly given the language issue. Maybe you have to have 50k in each one. Have you tried the Krungsri app as I suggested? What is the point? It's still two months out. So? I don't go to the bank to make transfers anyway, do you? If online transfers quit working, I'll go down and have my picture taken. I think you and the rest of the guys worried about it ought to get together and stage a demonstration in front of the Bank of Thailand and demand clarification. What do you think might happen in the event you are unable to transfer 50K per transaction until you go down to have a picture taken?
  14. Maybe it's a minimum balance thing. Anyone with less than 50K in their account would not need to worry about transferring more than that, And do I think what is about the wording of the announcements? That has not been my experience. How are different branches contacting people? What statements have been released? I have BKK Bank, K-Bank and Krungsri. None of them has contacted me. The only thing I have "received" is a pop-up when I open the Krungsri app. Why not try opening the Krungsri app? This is the pop-up I get:
  15. So what (specifically) makes it next to impossible to submit an issue for a referendum?
  16. But the percentage of households that have guns has not really gone up. Hey, maybe we could try enforcing exiting gun laws...
  17. It would be nice if our governments in the US would focus more on enforcing exiting laws, including gun laws rather than just pushing legislation that will do nothing. We've always had a lot of guns in the US, but all of the sudden they're the problem.
  18. What (specifically) makes it next to impossible to submit an issue for a referendum? As anyone who looks at the history knows, Disneyland is in California.
  19. I used to have a card when I was working, I do not think I have a card anymore. I am registered at a private hospital that also accepts Thai Social Security Medical Again, I do not think I have a card since I retired. I just use my pink ID. The last time I used it was a few months ago to get a rabies vaccination regiment due to a feral cat bite.
  20. No, I do not know if the payment I make to keep my Thai social medical insurance active since I retired is the same as making a payment to the Thai Social Security Fund.
  21. The announcement I received was clear. What was unclear about the one(s) you received?
  22. That's odd. Once mine started it never missed beat.
  23. Do you think it should be easy to get get things on ballots?
  24. I don't know. I do know that it is a payment required to keep my Thai social medical insurance active since I retired.
