  2. Hi,

I'm going to propose marriage to my Thai girlfriend on my next vacation. Any advice on Thai culture would be helpful. For example, do I buy her an engagement/wedding ring like they do here in the west? I don't even know if Thai girls wear wedding rings. I read the book "Thailand Fever" and "Thailand, Culture Shock". I'm trying to learn as much as possible about Thai culture. I don't want to be one of those obnoxious loud Americans and I want to show respect for their way of life.

Thai visa forum is adult forum !!!!!!!!

  4. Immigration Police get tough for High Season

PATTAYA:-- In a show of force at the Pattaya Immigration Office located in Soi 5 off of Jomtien Beach Road, Police Colonel Itipon, the Superintendent of the station organized this Friday Evening parade in the station car park to inform his officers and volunteers of his intended plans over the coming High Season Months. He explained that he wanted to see 100% commitment from his staff over the next few months and they must also continue their work to apprehend and deport illegal immigrants who enter the Kingdom of Thailand without a passport and valid visa.

Following the parade, the officers and volunteers left the station and 9 hours later the group came back with over 120 Myanmar and Cambodian National suspected of residing in the Kingdom illegally. A press conference was held by Police Colonel Itipon to announce the arrest of the men and women who will now be deported back to their respective countries at the earliest opportunity.

  5. Melanoma has a high survival rate if treated early ie while at the grade 1 stage.

The treatment depends on whether the cancer has spread. Surgery is required in any case and CAT scans are vital. Follow up tests such as liver function tests, lung X rays are carried out. I myself had a grade 3 mole removed 6 years ago and the surgery involved removing a large piece of skin around the area where the mole was. I visited a specialist monthly for the first six months, after that at three month intervals up to the first year. Surviving the first year without the cancer spreading was a big deal. After that I went for a check up twice a year for the next year. That was 2 years and still all clear. At this stage I was in Bangkok and I went to the Cancer Society where they gave me a heart test, lung x ray and blood tests looking mainly at liver and pancreatic function. Still all clear and the head doctor there told me I was in the clear. Western doctors , fearing litigation don't talk like that. They say stuff like, "Up to this point in time it's all clear and it's looking good".

I was lucky I suppose that the mole was discovered while I was in Australia, the world capital of melanoma. Melanoma is one of the most virulent of all cancers which can spread quickly to especially the liver or lungs or anywhere for that matter and needs to be treated urgently. Most people I meet no nothing about this cancer and talk about it in the same way as all the other common skin cancers which are not life threatening. I had a lucky escape as the mole I had removed was quite large. The doctor at the time gave me a little bit better than even money chance of living another five years. I think he expected the cancer to emerge in the lymph nodes at a later stage, usually the first stop before spreading inside the body usually causing death. I'm lucky that it didn't spread. I now look at people roasting in the sun for hours, like I used to do and I can't not think how dangerous it looks.

unfortunetly i am on level IV it's why probebly too late !

and i hesitate to loose time and money for just nothing !

after investigation the conclusion is on this level for malignant melanoma the chance for survive

is very low ! it's why the question is make more test like PET scan and continue for what ???

    big dilemma !!

  7. Hi All,

Anyone have an ozone generating machine to lend or rent or know of anywhere one is available in Chiang Mai? I left my car parked for 3 weeks and when the missus checked it after returning it was apparently loaded with mold and mildew inside. We had it thoroughly and professionally cleaned, but still has a bit of a smell. Ozone is great for just this sort of thing apparently.

If anyone knows of anything else effective for this kind of problem I would love to hear of it.

    Thanks

    Seeker :o

try to clean all your car with RA KILLER 2 brand name DUCK RA-KILLER 2 made by Johnson

  10. I was woken up by the maid at 6 this morning, complaining about a flood in the road outside the Mobi Mansion.

Upon sleepy inspection, I discovered to my horror that my water meter had been stolen, and the water was gushing out all over the road.

    We called the water company.

"Sorry, closed today, you will have to come by tomorrow and pay for a new meter and we will come and install it."

    "What about the water leakeage?"

    "Can't do anything today - we're closed".

Fortunately, brother-in-law, who had stayed the night, whittled down a piece of wood and rammed it in the pipe. Then we got a garden hose, and with the aid of a cigerette lighter tpo soften it up, manged to force it over the pipe, and then we ran it to our underground tanks.

So I guess all ther water is free, as there is no meter to say how much we've used? Any ideas anyone?

I wonder how much a new meter will be? And how much will the thieves get for the old one?

So many questions on a quiet Sunday morning in paradise. :o

you pay only the water after the meter ! in this case nothing to pay !

6 month ago i paid 150 bath for new meter in water company

  11. I have been sending money for a woman I met last June to try help her out and she sends me an email ... here is an extract.
You send me money 5000 B but

i get only 3000B after tax.

I am finding it hard to believe that the bank would do this?? It is The Siam Commercial Bank Naklue Rd ....

Maybe I am naive but this seems to be excessive bank charges or for a bank to even pull this as "TAX"?

I am a pensioner and just trying to help but .....

I want to tell you about money, your money me

useful for pay room 2000 B and pay for anything so the money not enough.

I know it sounds like I am being 'had' but if she is correct then I can make an alternate payment method.

So does anyone have the facts on money transfers and any idea why such a large fee?

    Thanks , Jim

    jim

it's not tax ! it's the minimum charge for this kind of operation with bank transfer !

the best way for sending small money is Western Union and you pay the commision transfer in your country ! like this it's net cash money in thailand

  12. I live amongst Thais in Bankok, many of my wifes friends and our neighbours are self employed in their own businesses. Ive been listening to the same story for at least twelve months now and that is the new airport will be the answer to every ones financial woes. Do tourist go to enjoy the country and culture or just go to look at the airport? Thais think this new airport will fix up more things than the magical jar of Tiger Balm.

Average Thai are led to believe that the new airport will create a lot of jobs and prosperity. The government claims it will be the hub or gateway to wherever, plus they're planning to build a city there, what kind of logic is that :o

Its sad to see people believing this nonsense :D

agree with you ! they need dream ........bcz no more freedom ...............

  13. My Thai sis is married to a Belgian guy and after living there for a few years now qualifies for a Belgian passport.

She says in the Gov office in Belgium they are asking for a 'proof of Thai citizenship' paper. She has shown them her Thai passport and her Thai birth certificate. They have said that this is not what they want and it is a 'paper' from the Thai government to prove shes a Thai citizen.

In her own words she says they dont really know what they are looking for but have looked in the rule book and are reading to her the checklist they want to see from the book. This is listed in the rule book but thats all they can tell her.

To be fair although she speaks good english her french is a learning process. This is french speaking Belgium and they may be trying to put obstacles in her way on purpose.

Anyone have any idea what this document could be ??

if you sister live realy in belgium the way is very simple !

if she want become Belgian nationality FIRST she must prove she is THAI ok ??

like every country in the world she can go Thai embassy in Brussels and apply for Nationaly certificate and show his passport and bird certificate !

after investigation for a few weeks the THAI EMBASSY delivery the document

    welcome in Europe

PS : she can apply for belgian citizen in FRENCH DUCHT and GERMAN the 3 national language

in Belgian but sorry not in english maybe she can try in england !!!!!

  15. From BBC News..
Gen Sonthi claimed he was acting in line with the wishes of the Thai people....

In the interim, he said, a new national assembly would be appointed to draft a new, permanent constitution.

What was wrong with the 1997 constitution? I recall reading it and it sounded fair enough. It isn't the constitution that is wrong, it is the people who are responsible for safeguarding its principles from those in the top echelons of Thai society who, through personal greed and selfishness want to have all the power, politics, and purchasing power for themselves.

No wonder some people call Thaksin Mr. 'Toxin'. It is a shame that so many poor rural people appear to have been 'bought' by his cheap lines of credit, and the 30Baht health scheme. It is understandable though!

Let's hope that whoever is next in power (a woman perhaps???) can maintain a sense of fairness and justice for those poor of Thailand, whether in the city or the countryside.

    Laulen

well say laulen but some people here have nostalgy of MILITARY DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC

  16. I've used Nigel loads of times and I know plenty of other people who have used him.

The only problem is that he's built like a brick shithouse so although his massages can really hurt (but they do work) :o

    Hi kurgen

do you know if some people visit him for STOP SMOKING ???

  17. the worst thing (sometimes) about kamagra is the occasional zero effect followed by a following morning raging 'er *******. Timing is all!

If you take any alcool before like beer or other you must wait for any result !!!!!

    but same with viagra.

better to take this medecine before you go bar ...........and quick result and only 100 mg for kamagra bcz sildenafil citrate can't mix with alcool

  18. I guy ( truthfully ) asked me to enquire locally about the price of Camagra for him.

I talked to my local well respected pharmacist. English speaking.

He said it is a banned drug in Thailand ( not authorised )

It comes in via China and India in most cases via the black market.

He said it only contains certain properties, unlike the authorised ones, Viagra and one another ?

The genuine ones also contain properties to prevent certain side effects relating to the heart / blood flow and effects on the blood vessels.

The main danger is regarding the eyes which are effected by the copies.

They will eventually cause you to have blurred vision and deterioration to your eyes.

Burst blood vessels in them being a major risk also as they are the weakest of all the vessels.

Raised blood pressure and heart problems already existing could cause death at the extreme end.

This is a serious post to try to put across what the pharmacist told me and i hope it will at least make you think about using cheap alternatives.

He did say that the genuine ones contain things to address the blood flow related side effects.

He also said and i agree,

" it is not worth it to buy cheap versions and risk your life / health. "

E.G. copies around 400 baht for 4 tablets, authourised versions from 1,200 baht.

It,s up to you as the saying goes but think about it.

You can still have all the sex your body can handle by using the genuine versions, preferably Viagra.

    marshbags :o:D:D

    hi dear

do you speak about KAMAGRA ?? oral jelly

made in India under supervision serious company

    but read directions for use

    USE STRICLY UNDER MEDICAL SUPERVISION

  19. why we always believe the foreigner side of the story? Now you ever saw a drunk Aussie say sorry for anything he did???

I am sure there is more to the story? and a real estate agent ? it was posted before maybe they were just waiting for him I never saw wood lying around on beach road?

Byt yeah lets all believe the story of the oh so nice foreigner who just comes here to enjoy himself right Pattaya is full of those no?

    good say !!

  20. I have no idea what the Thai government hopes to accomplish. I can understand if the purpose was to get rid of some of the bottom feeders. I know a few and I'm sure you guys know a few that would NOT be missed by anyone.

Tampering with the 3 million baht investment visa is really stupid. These guys are certainly NOT bottom feeders. Going a little further, I think 65,000 baht per month income for a retirement visa is also WAY out of line. I know guys who get Social Security of between 40,000 and 50,000 per month. They can't get a retirement visa but their income is many time that of the average Thai.

I am not affected because I am fortunate that my monthly income is considerably above the 65,000 baht requirement. It also is stupid that they have decided that two can live cheaper than one. If you don't have the minimum monthly income and are single, you need 800,000 baht in a Thai bank. If you are married to a Thai that drops to 400,000.

For years the government has allowed crooked lawyers to set up bogus companies for farangs to own land. Now they have decided that this is NOT legal? Lawyers are permitted to draw up contracts that say anything you want the contract to say. Those contracts are not worth the paper they are written on. WHY??? I personally have no problems and I have a legal Thai wife but it's an ill wind that is blowing.

    hi Gary

agree with you but for myself i use the same deposit saving account with minimum 800000 baht

since 3 years ! now i have interest on this 5.75% but the immigration never ask me how much i use

    every years !

conclusion you are free to use your money with no minimum on a normal account and just keep

800000 bath on saving account for many years !!!

i have my one year visa in 5 minuts and no question !!

why so many people have problem ????
