  1. Tesco's have a reasonable selection of well priced flat screens.

Why is the missus threatening you? Just a warning not to spend too much on the new one? :o

I think she's bored of my company already :D

She's now watching channel 3 online, luckily I set up an extension LAN line to the spare room.

I was thinking Tesco's myself, I really can't be bothered to shop around.

  3. Guilty or not in objective reality, he has been found guilty by the Thai courts. This is a man that though clearly no saint has severe health problems (throat cancer) so a six year prison sentence in Thailand could easily be a death sentence. What can be done to save this man's life?

I write as someone who is not in any way Mr. Quill's friend, but where is the compassion for a sick older man?

objective reality ? how can you save the life when the sick older man have throat cancer ?

You can do nothing ! only cancer specialist can try something ..............maybe.

    that's the objectiv reality...........................

  4. Carrefour is the only store in Thailand that gives you the item free if it is scanned wrong. That's part of their customer satisfaction program for Thailand. The OP is correct. In the states at least in California the item is given free if scanned wrong.

The Bangkok Post also stated that the debt problem was due to 2 developers not paying them. I know I am not allowed to mention them but I wonder who they were

  8. Gary makes a good point. As a lot of new folk to Patters read this forum for the views of people who have been around a bit longer, I for one am firmly in the camp of wait and see what anything is really like when finished, before purchase. On PAPER people are sitting on healthy profits on such monoliths as North Point. Good luck to them, however over the years there have been more unhappy investors than wealthy ones in Patters " off paper " sales. We all hope for better days, but caution at present is not a bad thing.

yes ................ and now K-Teck who have suspended quotation in stok exchange Bangkok and not pay employees since Two month................

  9. The future of Ocean 1 is GREAT.

Business is about risk and problem solving. Its not easy; if it was easy all the armchair developers and bar room businessmen would actually be out there creating things. Its a lot easier to carp and criticise and see problems where none exist.

So there is a little local difficulty. Rome wasn't built in a day.

The kind of people who have the vision and determination to put together a project like Ocean 1 will triumph eventually.

It will be a worldwide talking point when completed and help bring even more wealth and prosperity to Pattaya.

thank you for your opinion mister ''beginner''

but i not read any criticise on Bangkok post newspaper !!!!!!!

only full report about financial and social situation for Thai employees ! but you not concern by Thai people probebly ?

  10. Does anyone know who is going to build this development? Several people have told me that K-Tech their proposed contractor are in dire trouble and that La Royale is already a year behind schedule? How can they advertise "Your dream home is ready" when there isn't even a window in the place, nice paint job though! NOT :o

I'd already heard that there were plans for an Ocean 2 tower, but not sure on which site. A few more and they could get George Clooney for the Grand Opening of Oceans 7 and have Brad Pitt absailing down it! :D

My main worry would be the actual funding of the project, what Thai bank would lend a farang 12 billion baht? I guess it would have to be a consortium of banks to spread the risk. Obviously there is money coming in from sales, but what about the 300 odd Thai ownership apartments which will be hard to sell at that price? :D

I do hope the development does happen, because it will be amazing for Pattaya, I just wouldn't want to risk any of my money with so many uncertainties even with an EIA and City Hall's blessing.

K-TECK is looking now for new partner !

quotation in bangkok stock exchange are closed since last november and employees have no salary since two month !

    source : bangkok post newspaper

happy new year ocean 1 !!!!!!!!!!

    :D

  11. Does anybody have a way of keeping the SoiDogs out? One of those killed my cat the other day and seriously pissed me off...

The problem is that there are quite a few of them and the Mia doesn’t allow me to send them to nirvana. Any way to scare them never to come back. Some kind of spray maybe some spice mixtures. Get my drift.

Heard that Tiger shit is an excellent repellent but how to get it? Any idea is welcome.

you can have tiger shit in crocodile farm ! they have many in cage

  12. "QVC" Quality Vacation Club

Has any member gone dealt with the aforementoned timeshare club? Or better put, are all these timeshare clubs a scam or are some a good deal?

They have a Jomtien office and I went to a 90 min presentation, wasn't impressed and didn't want to part with $9,000 dollars.

    gangster one million time gangster

just keep your money in your pocket

  13. Took my GF and her family to the special voting station for Thai folks living in Pattaya but not registered here. It is at the school on the North Bound lane of Sukhumvit just after the Banglamung power Office turning.

Took us one and a half hours from North Road to the polling station as the traffic was solid with all kinds of vehicles going to Banglamung polling station to vote. Taxis, Construction workers, military personell in trucks and just ordinary people walking and taking their motorcyes to the polling booths. Believe Pattaya proper must have been empty.

Not nice to sit in the jam for one half hours but great to see everyone turning out to vote and taking the election so

    seriously. :o

election or vote under the control of army !!!!!!!! funny

  14. 2 Frenchmen robbed by Pattaya transvestites

PATTAYA: -- Two French tourists were robbed after they took two transvestites to their rented room for sex and massage late Tuesday night.

The two men, Annisse Rannane, 23 and Delil Secen, 18, were found tied up and naked in their rented room in South Pattaya area at 12:30 am.

They told police that they met the two transvestites while walking back to their room and the two offered sex and massage service.

But when they the two transvestites back to their room, two other Thai men with face covered stormed into the room and robbed them.

  15. Hi,

I have an interesting story from tonight worthy of Weho. Anyone who frequents the new Villa Market will know what I'm talking about.

I went in tonight around 11PM. I like to do my shopping late because traffic is lighter and the store is less crowded. I spend about 20-30 minutes in the store and spend roughly 1,700 Baht on various things. As what usually happens, I forgot to take my parking ticket in with me, and hence it never got stamped. As I'm leaving, the parking attendant demands 20 Baht. Now 20 Baht is no huge amount of money, it's just the principle of the thing. I am a regular and frequent customer at what arguably is the "anchor" of the Avenue complex. Stamp or no stamp, I should not be forced to pay anything for parking having spent such a sum at the store. I show the attendant my receipt, but he persists - he wants 20 Baht. So I tell him I will not pay, nor will I inconvenience myself by going back into the store to have the ticket validated. Had I parked there without patronizing any of the businesses there, I could understand, and I would pay. So I make the decision to leave without paying, and in doing so, I really rattled their cages because they started yelling and waving at me.

Normally, I would not have done this. At Friendship, for example - the attendants there are grumpy, but honest. However, during previous outings to Villa or the movie theater, I *have* had the parking ticket stamped, and these parking clowns *still* demanded 20 Baht, which I also refused to pay. Tonight was the first time that I refused to pay and left having neglected to get the ticket stamped. My rationale is that during any given day, there may be a number of people who *do* dole out their 20 Baht. The fact they try and extort money from the customers of this mall really irks me - one would think that there have been many others who have dealt with the Avenue Mall Mafia and have lodged complaints of their own. I will be calling Villa in the morning to lodge my own complaint in this matter. Who knows how many people these guys have ripped off?

That's all from me... how would you guys have handled this situation. I'm also interested in seeing what Weho has to say in this matter, if in fact he's no longer banned :o

    mister hobgoblin

you are a very old poor poor poor charly as we say in patay...........
