Was told today that the service charge for Residence 3 has been increased this year; a change that would require support from a majority of owners at a general meeting. When I asked the girl in the office about the owners meeting that approved the increase, I received a blank look.

I have never received an invitation to such a meeting, never seen minutes, never seen annual accounts; but this could be because I rent out my unit and the office does not know to send documents to me. Anyone else owning units in any of the Residences experienced meetings or accounts?

3 French tourists, 2 Thais arrested at alleged drug party in Pattaya

Pattaya, Chon Buri - Police rounded up three French men, a Thai woman and a Thai transvestite for allegedly using crystallised methamphetamine and marijuana at a resort here late Monday night.

Police raided the Bon Kai Resort and arrested the five at 11:30 pm.

The French men were identified as Fabrica Enriques, 29, Gufflauma Sanz Fernandez, 39, and Yann Frank Martial, 36. Police also arrested Nuch Charoenrat, 19, a Thai woman, and Jitrapol Wongbaikaew, 20.

Police found some marijuana in the room and found a tool for smoking the crystallized methamphetamine.

All of the five tested positive to drug abusing.

Not sure if this is typical in the present climate but the wife & I had trouble with an airport taxi when returning to Bangkok.

Firstly the car was not fit for purpose......

Next my wife noticed the meter was increasing at an alarming rate and challenged the driver .......Driver responded by saying that he had a flat battery, therefore the meter was not reading correctly. That statement was obviously B..s..t, but suddenly the meter slowed down to a normal rate

The driver then said that as his meter was not working correctly he would only charge us Bhat 300 to town...negociated down to 200

On arrival in town he attempted to charge is the metered fare!!!

Next issue was........no change for 1,000 note

Eventually found change, gave him Bhat 200......and listened to the abuse because we had not given a tip!!!!

I pass the site every day. Am amazed. This seems to be the only construction site where the concrete flows OUT of the site, instead of in! The only thing on the site seems to be a concrete mixing machine selling concrete to local suppliers!

The problem with all this places in and around the shopping malls is: The rentals are to high, higher than in Europe. The same story 11 years ago when the first Lotus supermarked in Thepprasit- South Pattaya opened. There was a MC Donald in the second floor. After 6 months the MC Donald closed down. I guess it was the similar situation. American Companies don't pay any "Key Money" to some silly chinese Landlords.
