  1. No need to worry about the coolant if all is okay, have a look inside the container, if the color is okay (light blue, not dark) and full, it will work fine for many more years... I have the same year Forza, my water pump leaked, so when they repaired it, they had to empty most of the coolant and refill fresh - but it looked very clean when I saw it (38k km). I also seen a YouTube video of a guy properly purge all the coolant out of a Forza and refill it, using a pump, and that, proper, job looked very complicated, way beyond average Thai mechanic I think, that's why they say, "no need "...! 😆 But make sure the brake fluid is changed every 2 years, that degrades fast in this heat. Forza has dual channel ABS with Combi Brake System on top of that, in some way it's 3 channel ABS, fresh brake fluid is useful for all this to work well...
  2. Oh, the resident certificate, the tm30, the 90 day reporting, all joy of residing in Thailand. Imagine if they could enter our address somewhere online, and all government departments could look it up using the name and passport number...(and we could update it when changed), let's keep dreaming... 😜
  3. We are still waiting for that new big bike license rule to come, for above 400cc I think, but they can still do serious damage using 300 or 350...! I have no idea if the new big bike license would be harder to get, but at least will be better than the current bike license, which is a joke if you have ever been in DLT and watch those who pass it ...!!! 😆
  4. They should do more to warn tourists when they actually discover jelly fish, specially in certain season, the sign they put up is totally useless, because it's there year around and nobody takes notice...! They should have special signs for this kind of special days. Most people suffer a few hours and no permanent scars, but others may react differently, and children could be worse... I have been stung a few times, fortunately not a big deal with vinegar, but a friend ate seafood in the evening after being stung and spent a few days in hospital with breathing problem and terrible reaction, avoid seafood when stung... 🥴
  5. Noise, noise, noise...! My last helmet was a flip up MT Atom, at 100kph the noise on the left side was so bad even earplugs couldn't make me feel comfortable, I got rid of it after the first long trip... Now I am afraid to buy a new helmet again, just use old ones..., anywhere we can test drive a helmet at 100kph before buying ...!!!??? No amount of review or people recommendation will help, I even think two exact same make and model helmets could come out differently out of the factory regarding noise ...! Seems like a lucky, unlucky, draw...
  6. Pay attention, op is asking for "drink holder and such" ...! 🙄
  7. Go to both, or more, get as many opinions as you can, you will be amazed how different mechanics give you different approach ... Just get opinion and price and how long it takes, then say I'm busy now, bring it later...!
  8. I hate small bike Honda dealers, and for Forza and ADV you have to go to them, I hope my next bike is a Yamaha...! ? I also despise aftermarket exhaust, it's called public road, not private show off arena - so no comment.. 😔 Special editions probably waste of money, can add stuff with aftermarket if needed later..., unless looking to connect your phone to answer calls and stuff, that Road Sync edition is a useless marketing ploy to get more money...! Forza has softer ride, bigger windshield and more plastic up front to protect against wind and rain - my buddy is not happy with his ADV windshield at high position at 100kph, too much turbulent. With electric windshield of Forza maybe can adjust more for that... But ADV has better shocks for more sporty, harder and off-road ride (if ever go off-road !), maybe a bit wider and higher handlebar. Best to try them to compare to really know...
  9. Things like that best look up on Lazada, need a bit of trial and error, it's cheap so if not good, throw away and try another one...!
  10. Go with another tyre, maybe the original came with it..., I have heard people changing tyres cure some of the issue, although they changed the factory one...! Maybe it has got to do with the shape of tyre, some more flat, some more oval etc. ...!?
  11. Unfortunately they are all back slowly after COVID, two years ago slowly, then last year more, and now...! Big mess... Although the bigger problem for me were the jet skis last year, I hate those things, and a few years ago they started taking people by small inflatable boat out to waiting jetskis out 200 or 300 meters, then bring people back again..., making a mockery of orders , regulations and well, so called authorities...!!! But last year basically brining the jetskis to the shore, the pollution from these, air, water and noise is just unimaginable...! You know how they manage all this is of course, no need to be specific here...!? 🤑
  12. I thought the 30 years lease is probably the best option to live in a house and land in Thailand, probably have to evacuate after 30 as despite what they promise now, at that time they raise the price so high, nobody can afford it - have seen that first hand on a 10 years lease property of a friend... But I heard from a guy who leased for 30, then went for a few months holiday, when he came back he saw a boat parked in his garden...!? The Thai land owner said the land is only leased but still his property, and he can park his boat as needed for now....! He said the lawyer advised him not worth fighting this in court, that can take a year or more, and then he probably is only ordered to remove it, which he probably does by then anyway..., said lease agreements are all very flexible and dodgy here...???? 🥴
  13. The price for this, at 150b, is guaranteed it was a fake, I've also bought fake plug from Lazada, I think anyway... The street biker opposite Honda main bike dealer in Phuket town are fairly honest, the girl there offers me 3 types of spare parts, grade B copy, grade A copy and genuine...! Saying that I have no way of knowing the genuine part I paid for is a copy/fake...!? I've given up worry about it now, it's just the way it is over here... 🙄
  14. I don't really look at the fuel gauge on my Forza much, I fill up the tank to max, then reset the Trip A counter, this also reset fuel consumption figure. Then look at average fuel consumption based on km traveled per liter and trip A km. When I covered in km about 10 x the average fuel consumption, it means 10 liter is gone, and I have about 1.5 liter left, I usually look for the first PTT gas station to fill up.
  15. I guess you know this already, buy my Forza 2016 does not move from the full until I ride about 90km...! ! !
  16. Yes, need some help, the forms are all in DLT, I'm sure Thais can also get it from the internet. I hear sometimes buyer and seller go to DLT, but I think this is not easy either, busy there with queues etc. , the rental/selling shop is better option. The seller must be alive, as he says...! 🤗, But also if foreign, must have a valid visa, need a copy of that page. I once went to DLT, they said the visa expired a few days ago, I pleaded my case, the manager said okay,... very lucky as the seller had left a week before...!
  17. If you're not going with the seller to DLT office to put the bike in your name, in addition to all the usual docs, green book signed, transfer form signed, seller ID copied (or passport if foreign, plus visa page) etc. , make sure the seller also fills up the official power of attorney letter... With this in hand you can do anything with that bike, transfer to your name, or beforehand change number plate to your province, if different... It's all very easy and you can do it yourself at DLT, they help a lot nowadays... Just make sure seller fills up and sign all the docs, usually a dealer shop can help in this and check/provide all the forms, even if buying private can go to them and get help...
  18. Look for an add on gel or air bubble extra pad to put on top, some people really like those, personality I think it's good that my bum gives me a signal to stop and have a break, every 1.5 hour is best to get off, stand and walk a few steps... On long rides it can stop fatigue and lack of concentration etc., that's when mistakes happen...!
  19. I heard about this issue too, even on the old model Forza, so I decided I never take both my hands off the handlebar, so became a none issue for me, those who lift both hands off a motorbike deserve a bit of wobble, here and there, and everywhere....!!! 🙄😜
  20. Years ago I was stopped and fined US$2 for accidentally leaving the lights on on my rental scooter in Vietnam...! But I haggled and only paid US$1.... 😜
  21. I'm afraid you're totally wrong about this, and I know from your previous comments you hate Forza and obsessed with commenting about it ...! But you totally missed the point, it's by far the most practical and economical tool for the job, travelling on roads in Thailand with ease and at comfort... On the other hand, you're looking to buy a 400cc 4 cylinders bike to "commute" in Bangkok - I think most people would consider a Click, it makes more sense...!? Not sure how old you are but from the Goose photo, I guess you like that fancy side of motorcycling rather than practicality and reality of these vehicles..., I on the other hand like to see that stuff online... 🤗, I like to ride with quiet exhaust, never want anyone to look at me on my bike, and far from pretending to ride a big bike using Forza ...!
  22. In Phuket office when I go for an extension, if it's within a week or so of my 90 days reporting (or even passed a few days), she does the 90 day as well, and stick a new paper slip at the back of passport for it, she also always tells me that she has done it..., nice touch...!
  23. My old model Forza hasn't been reliable one bit, many things gone wrong with it and had to be fixed...! Also Honda small shops treat Forza like a big bike when it comes to spares and service charges, real rip off ..., it's just a slightly bigger PCX, serviced by incompetent scooter mechanics...! 🙄 I have no experience with Honda Big Wing, but I read they are more professional and reliable than small wing... I rented their new CB650R naked once, it was a riot, that thing can fly, and fly you as well with it to the other side...!!!? 😜 Be careful..., a lot of morons on the road at those speeds...
  24. Just to be sure open your old passport page with re-entry permit and tell immigration guy/gal that you have a visa...! They can totally miss it and stamp a visa free entry on your new passport and hand it over, that's why in any case it is always important to check what they stamp in your passport after leaving any immigration kiosk... , check dates etc. too...
