Metastatic progression of cancer is not successful surgery is it? Sounds like it is very aggressive if it appeared elsewhere so soon on a scan.

It's a useful lesson. If anyone from UK gets diagnosed with something really serious head back to UK quick rather than waste money in hospitals here
But he was treated straight away here, back home he would have waited for weeks if not months. I agree I would be on the next plane home as well.

I could never understand why in a situation like this you would not return right away.
Concerning things like cancer, money really is not an issue anymore. Get home and get treated asap.
His explanation, good luck to him as it does not look promising. @ 4.20 minutes

I'm amazed any normal people would want to go and gawp at this place just because of what went on there, what's the attraction exactly?

Don't go to Tesco after 5 or at weekends with your voucher, or rather the Mrs, queue at checkout can be over an hour. We were lucky went in the week mid afternoon only one in front of us. Nice bottle of wine for me, thanks PM ????

Did you book on their website for that price?

Good to know that the rules are so easy to get round, why not as foreigners with no right for free treatment get it, so why not us if we 'return'.

Yes it does, very good at times. So it makes sense for him to return to the UK for treatment, possibly for palliative care ????
He's an ex pat and as such would not be eligible, only emergency care is free. I thought they charged ex pats 150% of the cost. Apart from that there is the cost of going home and renting somewhere along with all the stress if on his own, better off here.

OH right. Such criminals! HOW DARE they spend money here in Thailand! 555. You must get dizzy in that very high ivory tower.
How dare the government pretend to have a war on corruption when they let state officers fill their pockets with millions of baht over a few years by taking illegal bribes from foreigners too poor to be really here?

Makes no difference can you imagine the time and bother it would take to claim anything back if your bank went under?

Wow..... I read this with interest...........
I live in California in the USA and we can buy Baileys and and BOMBAY and Smirnoff for about $7 (About 230 BAHT) a 750 bottle (when on Sale-- Often at one shop or the other)....... California has cheap liquor as does Nevada..... I travel to Thailand often (6 or more times a year). So needless to say, at my house (in Pattaya) I have a well stocked Bar.....may I invite you over????...... The 'Dakside in Pattaya'..... (Eastside)
Also in California a '5 liter' box of wine.... the best Merlot or Cabernet (sp), REDS, or Chardonet (sp) (whites) are about $14 (460 Baht) a box.....(5 liters)..... In Tesco and BigC I see 2 and 3 liter boxes for much more than that..... Once in a great while Thai Customs will get me with a bottle of whiskey and a box of wine (But seldom) so they always choose to confiscate my whiskey and let me take the wine....... "Not a great loss.. at California Prices".....
Good thing some of us are not in CA, we would drink ourselves to death pretty quick at those prices, we never go to Pattaya, thanks all the same.

Money abroad was what I meant to say, withholding tax on Krungsri mai teedee accounts only started this year, fixed term account here have always been taxed but not others unless interest over 20k. Now we have to get a tax number to stop them taking the tax off.

Well I still cannot transfer my money from my account with them anywhere online without going into the bank and providing info over the counter, they did not even know why they were suddenly stopping me tax either. This week even taking money out was a problem, did not understand 27k in Thai or English, their staff training ought to be a priority not more IT PR stories.

Ask any Thai what the 4 noble truths are or what the eight fold path to enlightenment is and see what answer you get, arai na probably. They have no idea about the Buddhas teachings.

Reminds me of somebody I knew who asked what the difference was between two Nokia phones one expensive one cheaper- answer in shop was this one red that one black! Those tarts in tight skits in the booze sections of supermarkets are about as clueless, ask them what the difference is between single malt and blended and you get one cheaper one more expensive! Red cock next time then.
