  1. Red, what am I missing, please? My experience tells me that the powers in Thailand are a little like school children, they keep trying new things, and generally keep the things that work, and dump the things that don't. I am sure that many visitors will be glad to get the 45 days worry free, instead of running to immigration and waste a day to extend after 30. I am fairly sure that this policy of 45 days will be extended. Let's see.
  2. Laguna 2, security almost non-existant. Similarly, common areas cleaning not up to par. And maybe my bad luck, but the 2 condos that I looked at were in bad shape, meaning damaged furniture, dirt/fungus in bathroom floor corners. My point is, that unless you are getting an amazing deal, the condo next door, Dusit Grand Park is worlds apart, in terms of not only facilities, but staff, cleanliness, etc., and I believe, is in the same price range as Laguna 2. Best of luck, whatever you decide.
  3. Maximum speed 100 kph? LOL! That's a highly experienced "pilot" on the thing, and he barely goes about 3 kph, and the thing looks mighty unstable!
  4. As shdmn mentioned, CCR is really difficult to get to, at least on foot, and the location leaves a lot to be desired. Laguna 2, some of the condos I looked at were in very bad shape. However, right next to Laguna 2, is the Dusit Grand Park, IMO probably one of the best condo buildings in Pattaya, with all possible amenities, and a really good team of security and all other staff. Similar rates.
  5. I just bought both WRLife for medical and from Bangkok Bank for accidents, just to be on the safe side. Amazingly low rates, only about $150 per year for Bangkok Bank, and only $500 approx. annually for WRLife, which incidentally covers me in almost all countries in Asia for medical inpatient!
  6. A friend of mine in Pattaya is having trouble getting his tourist visa changed to any other type of visa, because of a one day overstay (not his fault, but because immigration not accepting his application on due date, but telling him to come next day). Can anybody suggest a reliable visa agent in Pattaya to help him with this issue, because I think it will entail a lot of visa related stuff like perhaps a border run, another Thai visa for entry, and then also perhaps a conversion to retirement (he is 61 years old). Thank you all!
