  1. My friend, money talks, and <deleted> walks. Just do what you want to do, live in Thailand, visit an agent, he/she will get you set up for whatever period you wish to live. Live a good life, enjoy your days.
  2. My friend, just google largest swimming pools in Pattaya. You will find most of them in Condo complexes like Dusit, or Atlantic, etc. Walk in, in your swimming attire, noboby will stop you. Free swimming for as long as you wish. Pattaya is still foreigner-friendly, and you can use this "loophole" for as long as you wish. A freebie would be the beautiful girls, that you could possibly chat up and meet afterwards.
  3. Methinks a law allowing 110 volts for anti-theft should be allowed? By the way, what happened to the circuit breaker when this dude died?
  4. My (terrible) experiences not only in Thailand, but also Sri Lanka etc., have now taught me, that in third world countries, ONLY deal with Governments agencies (especially customs) with an agent involved! They are literally magicians, they can even let you know how much you have to pay, before the goods arrive, LOL! Otherwise, you may be stuck with severe headaches, heartaches, and a <deleted>load of wasted time and effort, all amounting to absolutely nothing, and in the end, have it all sorted out in minutes by an agent.
  5. As mikeymike100 said, it's less than 150 baht from Pattaya to Suvarnabhumi, so why is Pattaya to Don Mueang double the price? And I believe there is a free shuttle bus from Swampy to Don Mueang, so you can do Pattaya to DM for less than 150 baht by adding an extra 30 minutes or so for the journey? I believe all long haul "buses" have toilets.
  6. I would do another eye test for exact power required for lenses, the specs change amazingly fast, especially if you're older.
  7. Wow! 3,000 baht investment over 2 years!
  8. Oh don't be silly transam, I'm sure even you know that cruise ships now are so large, and have automatic stabilizers to prevent any rolling movement etc. that seasickness is extremely rare on cruises these days.... BTW I had a Transam many years ago, 6.6 liter, fastest thing I ever drove!
  9. I second steven100's suggestion of a cruise, for many reasons including that you get to see a variety of countries on day trips, use an agent to help you with visas, but it should not be difficult because you are on a cruise, therefore probably a bonafide tourist. Also, on a cruise, she is safe to wander around the ship on her own without fear. If budget is a factor, then Vietnam has plenty of places to see for 10 or more days, and is quite cheap. Bon Voyage!
  10. I'm with the Greeks on this one. IMO, there's nothing more beautiful than a well proportioned young lady, nude, with no body markings whatsoever.

  12. Agoda, Booking.com both very reliable. I always prefer to book without pre-payment, and pay at hotel is most convenient for me.
  13. I would wait a week or so, because people are predicting that the "covid extension" will be extended past the August 25 deadline. Then it will be easy for you to get an extension.... especially if you're in Pattaya.
  14. Surprised nobody has mentioned that the FIRST thing you should do is to file a police report and get a copy, and translate to French. The SECOND thing is to inform the French Embassy, who may be able to give you a new passport without your leaving Thailand. Then you can try to get your previous stamps transferred to new passport, with the help of Police Report, and also letter from French Embassy stating they have replaced your new passport because your old one was stolen.
  15. Whenever I have an early flight from Bangkok, I book into a hotel near the airport, usually free airport drop-off, and no tension about missing flight, traffic, etc. Usually very cheap, around 500 baht, for AC and comfortable rooms, on Agoda (use the map feature to find hotels near the airport).
  16. A friend of mine in Pattaya is having trouble getting his tourist visa changed to any other type of visa, because of a one day overstay (not his fault, but because immigration not accepting his application on due date, but telling him to come next day). Can anybody suggest a reliable visa agent in Pattaya to help him with this issue, because I think it will entail a lot of visa related stuff like perhaps a border run, another Thai visa for entry, and then also perhaps a conversion to retirement (he is 61 years old). Thank you all!
