    Or add the travel insurance as part of the ticket price. Airlines have much bigger clout in reducing rates for bulk buying of policies, it should be very affordable IMO.

    IF it is proven (by prior visits to hospital, interviewing neighbors, etc.) that this dude really beat on her regularly, he got what he deserved. For those of you who say she should have just left him, you're missing the crucial fact that he could still find and kill her, or even worse, do the same BS <deleted> to another girl or a few more in the future. I stand by "he got what he deserved".

    Hi all, I have a friend who is over 50 (USA) and is going to get a retirement visa soon. He has a wife from Philippines who is only 45. Does anybody have any information on how she can stay with him here in Thailand, long term? Is dependant visa the way to go, and if so, what are the details, please? Thank you for the help/advice!

    I believe the visa exempt on arrival is 45 days, with another 30 days extension easily obtained, so your 2 month stay is easily covered.

    Got insurance (accident only) from Bangkok Bank when I opened the account. Only 5,900 baht. As it happened TWO accidents in one year, both promptly paid direct to hospital (Bangkok Pattaya Hospital) without any problems. More than covered the premium! I'm 62.

    Saw a guy in a bar last night, with a bar girl who has been working there for years. Just went to say hi to her, and the <deleted> got all angry and said don't talk to her! Idiot farang doesn't realize he is with a bar girl who has slept with hundreds, maybe thousands of guys!

    I am extremely sad for the little baby, to not be able to live their life, due to the utter stupidity of their mother. No excuse for running down the tracks, instead of to the side. Two lives snuffed out without any real necessity.

    OP, I will be more gentle than the rest of the repliers. You obviously want some of the benefits of a condo, i.e. microwave, etc. which is always nice to have. Look CAREFULLY at the hotels on Agoda or Booking.com and find what you're looking for. You can never stay at a place where the owner does not want you to stay at, without mega problems.

    EVERYWHERE, and I mean, everywhere in Pattaya now, there are ganga cafe's, ganga shops, ganga this and ganga that! Do that many people really use the stuff? I'm sick of seeing it everywhere!

    Dont understand the question. You expect contaminants in the air to stop UVB from reaching your rooftop? For what purpose? Your roof will stop all UVB if you are indoors. If you are outdoors, put on sunscreen, as MRT suggested.

    I have often wondered what would happen, if an enemy of somebody, just dropped some drugs into a box and shipped it to an unknowing person. Probably the same as what is gonna happen to this kid?

    He doesn't look like he can afford to buy that much ecstacy from the Netherlands, where it is not as cheap, as far as I know. There was obviously a fairly big time dealer involved in Europe who financed the drugs, and just shipped it across to him. Poor kid, feel really sad about his future.

    Racheting up the pressure, huh? I suppose it was necessary, high time to call the bluffs of these dictatorships, hopefully getting them to the negotiating tables with a stronger hand on our side. Hope things work out as the anylists are predicting!

    Tedious reading, overthinking things, it's really quite simple, get the 45 days when you arrive, please do the residence TM30 within 3 days of arrival in Thailand, either through a hotel or if staying in a residence, with the home ownership document, and their ID/Passport copy, then get your 30 day extension about 10 or 12 days before your 45 days expires, and you're right as rain. Enjoy your trip to beautiful Thailand!

    When paying in advance, I notice that the delivery guy makes very little effort to contact me, simply leaves the stuff at juristic office or wherever. When paying COD, they always make sincere efforts to contact me, and I take possession of the products, and then pay by scanning or transferring from my phone.
