It seems lots of stories seem to become "real" when they are repeated often enough on social media. Is that good?
I.e. that stupid Q-Anon conspiracy. Wouldn't it be much better if social media would not have spread that and other crazy conspiracy theories?
I think it should be the duty of the media to publish the truth. But I guess I am a little old-fashioned with that expectation.
They censor what they do not like.
If they were concerned about the unconfirmed half the <deleted> written about Trump would be censored.

Stop spreading fake news. As the fact-checking article stated, the Biden campaign doesn't want to generate crowds that promote the spread of covid. Unlike a certain other campaign beholden to a man child with a bottomless need for adulation. This from the same article:
"Eric Trump, the president’s second son, retweeted a clip of Garcia’s segment that was deceptively edited to remove the part where she talks about the campaign choosing not to invite the public to avoid drawing a crowd. The video has been viewed on YouTube nearly 50,000 times."
Trump supporters do not need to be "invited'' to show their support, they just get out and do it.
Thousands of Cubans, Venezuelans and other conservative Latinos convened in Miami to attend an 'Anti-Communist' caravan, flying flags of support for President Donald Trump.
The parade, called the 'Anti-Communist Caravan for Freedom and Democracy', convened at the Magic City Casino on Saturday morning.
Various reports estimate somewhere between 20,000 to 30,000 cars in attendance for the caravan.

Just more of your usual deflection, cherry-picking and nonsense.
Your answer is just a collection of words with no meaning.
Deflection? where is the deflection?
Cherry-picking, what did I cherry pick?
Nonsense, seems to apply to your own post.

And can you share with us your calculations that Biden's gaffe rate is "infinitely higher" than Trump's? Or even just plain higher?
I just did?

Years old....like it was something ancient.
Years old, like it was something from years ago, around three and a half years ago in fact.
2 minutes ago, Morch said:Sure. As said and as posted by others, plenty of other examples you can raise bogus 'issues' with and deflect.
But you chose to use this example, not much I can do about that.
12 minutes ago, Morch said:Trump produces a lot of 'content'. Yes. A lot of it is nonsense, lies, misinformation, rants and attacks on critics and rivals.
If you say so, OK.
37 minutes ago, Morch said:Not sure how this supports your deflection attempt.
There was no deflection attempt, I just pointed out that you could have used a better and more recent example, but still agreed with your point that Trump does make his fair share of gaffes.
21 minutes ago, Morch said:Hostile media?
Yes, this cannot be disputed.
23 minutes ago, Morch said:He often cuts press meetings when questions are uncomfortable, ignores questions from reporters or media venues he doesn't like, and lately mostly giving interviews and such on Fox or worse.
He no doubt has done those things from time to time. He has also spent 100's of hours taking thousands of questions from the press and spoken for 100's of hours in speeches rallies etc.
The point being that Biden's gaffe rate under considerably less pressure is still as a percentage infinitely higher that Trumps.

Indeed..... How much content does Trump put out compared to Biden would you say? How many tweets, interviews, speeches, rallies, press conferences taking tough questions from a hostile media.
What would be the ratio over the last 4 years would you say???? 100,000/1?

Well a years old texting error in a tweet is a particularly poor example, but sure Trump gaffes.

Russia spreading disinformation about Biden's mental health: DHS
The Department of Homeland Security has found that Russia is spreading disinformation regarding former Vice President Joe Biden’s mental health, according to a DHS bulletin obtained by ABC News.
ABC News previously reported that DHS withheld publication of an intelligence bulletin warning law enforcement agencies of a Russian scheme to promote “allegations about the poor mental health” of Biden. The draft bulletin, titled “Russia Likely to Denigrate Health of US Candidates to Influence 2020 Election,” was submitted to the agency’s legislative and public affairs office for review on July 7.
Maybe they are remotely altering the text on his teleprompter????

I had a house, bought and paid for in the UK which I sold when moving here. I would buy another. In the meantime, I have a bolthole in the UK where I stay and use as my postal address, rent free.
Fair enough, but staying long term in the UK costs mount up quickly if you are paying for accomodation buying or renting, council tax etc. Thailand IS cheaper overall and a whole lot more fun.

I know they're not. I can live just as cheaply in the UK. eg 2 pints and a nice steak costs me less in the UK than it does here. There's no way that I could live on 40k baht in Thailand.
And where are you going to sleep in the UK?
Factor that in and Thailand is immensely cheaper.

Hmmm well the context is conveniently not given in the quoted text.
The context was the question to which this was the answer.

I admire your dedication to be able to ignore that paragraph.
From the OP:
"In my nearly five decades of public service, I have never publicly endorsed any political candidate," Fauci said in a statement.
"The comments attributed to me without my permission in the GOP campaign ad were taken out of context from a broad statement I made months ago about the efforts of federal public health officials," his statement added.

Dr. Fauci said what he said, then his words were twisted, taken out of context, the 45 ad people created a falsehood.
You posted what you posted, I took your words and twisted them, took them out of context to create a falsehood.
I really cannot make it any simpler than that. If you don't get it, then you just don't get it.
Except they were not taken out of context, or twisted. He was talking about the Trump administration's response and he said what he said.
Anyways, I am also done with this subject now.
