So if you don't take the vaccine it's 14 day quarantine still? I'll go to Kenya instead, just a negative PCR to enter there.
and stay there because no country will let you back in after that.

If the intention is to turn phuket into a Covid bubble, then they better make sure EVERYONE on the island is vaccinated, not just those working in the tourism industry.
And they need to reduce the price of everything ! Wake me up when the rest of Thailand is open ! Phuket ... eh ... no thank you.

No more than the rest of us you don’t know. Pattaya and Thailand will “pick up” when tourists are allowed in without quarantine and many conditions .
They must also be allowed to travel from their own country without having to quarantine on their return. It is now worse than ever before in so far as many countries will not allow you to leave and go on holiday and fines are being handed out for even attempting to leave the country .
Is all that going to be finished by Qtr4 ... I hope so . I miss Thailand badly.

Visitors will return tomorrow and in big numbers once travel restrictions are lifted, including border crossings re-opened and flights resuming normal service.
When the vaccinations are at a peak level everywhere and most Thais are vaccinated too there will be no quarantine and tourists will come again , as they will to most tourist destinations . the vaccinations go up, the covid cases go down.

"From what I've heard..." What the heck do you mean? heard from where? from whom? Do you have a secret source? A special Homing Pigeon network? What good is it to spread idiotic rumors?
Common sense would tell most rational folk that it has to happen sooner rather than later. nothing idiotic about it.

At least if im vaccinated in the Usa with Moderna @96 % effectiveness i wont get infected by some thai on the airplane or in “so so covid free LOS”
but LOS is not Covid Free. It is spreading again around the country and has only started again. Wait until the New Year travellers return and let’s see the results of that. I would be surprised if entry restrictions and conditions are not tightened rather than relaxed in a short while as the number of cases increase.

If it’s true it is a disgraceful waste of money that could be spent on welfare and taking care of their people. So many basics still missing in the land of ( sad) smiles these days . An insult to the people who have nothing to eat .Bewildering !

well I can only speak for my own country , Ireland , and when I look at wages 360 baht an hour is the legal minimum wage ,whereas most shop workers , hair salon , etc employees barely get that in a day in Thailand... and yet if I go to 7/11 or Lotus etc. I can pay more for a lot of stuff than it costs in Ireland. in fact most of my daily requirements cost more than at home .

Koh Samui is in critical condition. I know. I live there and rely on tourists for my business also.
Well a 4 year old could tell Koh Samui how to change course before there was even a hint of Covid but they were happy to fleece the tourists with flight monopoly and mafia taxi prices and so so hotels at inflated prices, dreadful infrastructure and fast fading Thai smiles .
plenty of time now to reflect and change their ways, but it’s painful to revert to honest dealings ... 100% overpricing of flights would be a good place to start . you can’t spend money in a place unless you are there !

re the football team masks and the red of Arsenal ,I turned on theArsenal EUFA Cup tie against poor old Dundalk ,part timers and basic wage earners who managed to make it to the group stages and pocketed €3mil for their efforts and were of course in last place. without a win , and I was horrified to see Arsenal decked out in Royal Blue ! I almost choked oh my Clonakilty Sausage !

those 30 days are visa exemption, not visa on arrival.
Visa on arrival is 15 days and costs 1000b.
All visa exemption and visa on arrival, and many other visas, were cancelled in March.
They don't have a clue what they are doing.
I visit 4 times a year normally for 30 days each time without applying for anything I have never had to pay anything and I am allowed 30 days each time .I am Irish., visa exemption for me. Are there many nationalities that have to pay 1000bht and only get 15 days ?

Could anyone point me to the survey on Tourlane because I have looked at their site and there is no mention of Thailand . The surveys I looked at don’t mention Thailand ?

and spend time cleaning the kip ! Sleaze and dirt may go together but wealthy tourists and dirty street and beaches and sanitation do not.

what does this even mean ? do I put an ad in the paper “Wanted 100 plus people wishing to join me and charter a plane to Thailand ?” where would I go to book a seat .. probably a designated agency on a backhander for which I would ,no doubt , have to pay in the inflated price .
