Once in a life, just to say you did it on a short distance, just for the photo on some absurd social media...well why not ?
But on a daily basis, it's just a tourist trap..
Unless you ask your thai girlie to negotiate the price or that you are aware on what alternative public transport would cost for the same journey.

Please send us a link from a reliable source with that information.
I'm sure a smart man like you can handle the research on Google and find all the sources to either confirm or refute the issue ????
But as I appreciate your posts quite often here is one link and good luck to read it entirely.....I did not. ????

What's the problem with that if the lady is irish ? Racist ?

This sort of replacement of national identities and cultures is just rubbing the noses of the indigenous population, who have been there forever, in the face of this globalist ideology, nothing to do with 'beauty' at all. There is no overlap between the Irish and black Africans. Do you really think Nigeria would put up with a ginger haired woman of Galway ancestry entering miss Nigeria?
Well you obviously mix with the wrong people if I may say, as the Irish happen to be the most open people to the world and are amongst the most of those who have migrated in foreign countries. And what about all the discriminations agains the Irish in the UK or in the USA ? Discriminating people is absurd as you have jerks and fine individuals in any nationality. You just need to mix in the proper circles, if I may say and no offense.

As laughable as a black woman becoming miss Ireland, which she did.

Would you say the same if your favorite football (scoccer) team or scoccer scores thanks to the main front center forward player, who has strong chances of not being up to the nationalistic standards of some. No offense Mate.

Maybe you can say that Chinese or Japanese are in average more intelligent than maybe Europeans (maybe, I don't know). But by how much? Let's say it's 5%, which would be a lot. Then you still have a huge overlap of over average Europeans which are more intelligent than under average Chinese. So, any individual which we meet from any location or race might have a higher or lower IQ than us.
Some say they are smart due to their diet and all the fish they eat...seriously. We are what we eat. The stomach is the minds brain !

"There is no difference between a astro-nuclear-physics-quantum scientist or a dishwasher, when they are in love....(A. Einstein though I did change a bit the text ????).
But very often, the best advice and tips I got, were during the easy chat with a limo/taxi/car driver during the journey. And they were no rocket scientists either.

Why are you asking a question if you believe you know the obvious answer?
Well, why are you answering in that case, through your very constructive "comment" ?

I am a bit more "surprised"
and in real admirationon seing luxury cars parked in the staff reserved parkings of major police stations or the door steps of cop mansions all over the country.Considering the toil of the farmers, can we consider that can be a deserved treat...or not ?

Since the debut of the war in Ukraine, there is a global recession due to the US sanctions.
Either by the direct consequences or collateral consequences of the sanctions.

On often seeing recent Audis or Benzs that pull over on road sides due to a breakdown, it leaves legitimate doubt on the reliability of the brand.

On social media forums, many businesses advertise their services but do not clearly give the price.
They end up in getting offended or upset when you ask them to quote a price in public.
They prefer having customers to come to their shop or office and then fix the price.
This obivously would mean they are trying to get a look at you and see how much they can get out of you.
Public trust would be far better if prices were clearly given on their posts in social media and not creating such a climate where the customer feels that the price will be given only once they get a good look at you and your looks in their premises or in private conversation, in order to adapt the rate. That's the impression it gives anyhow, even if it's not the case ?

Will be a great fiscal year with all the nice tax plans towards foreigners in Thailand.

Looks like the good old cash seems to rule.
Yes, risky to carry around but still the best and safest way to pay for goods-services and no dealing with the bullyish US, UK banks.

Hopefully after the snacks and lunch, the THB will drop a bit more and get a more realistic rate say 45 THB for 1 euro ?

20 years ago those prices were half of what is listed. Better value was then.
Curry 60 baht, all the India curries I see are 3X the price of Thai meals.
The problem is that foolish and guilable tourists, expats, foreigners just pay and say "ohh ohh it costs more back home". Sure it does but back "home" the salaries and other expenses are higher. Due to such foolish people who pay prices increase.
The rich won't pay absurd prices and get cheated even if the price back home is less.
It is only the upstarts or one-week millionnaires who pay blindly and and try to live it up like fools and thus send the wrong message to the service providers and retailers. They don't understand that secretly the guy or lady overcharging is plainly saying inside his/her mind "oh man what a fool this foreigner".

For shirts tailored not so long back it was 900 to 1100 THB. Now for the same stuff they are charging minimum 1500 and usually more for the top quality stuff. No point in getting clothes tailored in Bangkok anymore...at least not in Sukhumvit. Better try Chinatown where they are cheaper and the quality grade is very similar.

Putting tax on foreign earned revenue after 6 month stay is one thing.
But VAT definately has to be reduced if they want to make money with tourism.
Retail sales, or services generates big money by foreigners or retirees.
Prices have already increased in Bangkok or Hua Hin. Many services are charging more. If prices continue as such, no point in spending on shopping in Thailand as Europe is becomming more cheap with better quality.

Lovely building but if immigration counters remain empty, with rude and slow staff, or long queues at arrival or departure at remain, the image will stil be bad.
Time to stop having the Immigration rule the country and take things over to make arrival and departure more respectful towards travellers.

A no-name, cheap suitcase, with zero safety features and a large battery is way more risky than a brand name laptop battery.
Cheap powerbanks are dangerous, but at lease airlines have size limits.
Very true as even some iPhones or iWatches from Apple have burst.

We talk of those who sold everything there, to come here.
But look at it the other way and the day you will need to sell it all here to go back there !!
Avoid making the same mistakes on the other way round.
Dont' clutter with excessive stuff just because it's cheaper here.

Laser can be ok provided in the hands of a qualified operator. And that's where the "fun" starts with these streetfront "clinics".
As for scars, wharts, molds on the face, nothing that a good dose of azote based on the long used cryotherapy by current dermatologists. Lasers if possible to avoid, should be the last alternative....
But why do they pop-up all over ?
Simple as there is a demand obviously.
Why ?
Modern vanity conveyed with excessive peeping on social media, excessive self- consciousness of image ? seeking to hide some aspects of nature due to age ? God knows why one would risk such laser exposure...

The horrific and tragic incident confirmed on all media sources. A 14 year old seems to be the killer on this shooting in Bangkok. It would not have attracted a second glance had it been in the USA or some major European metro. But here in Thailand....very bad image and very tragic for any potential victims.
