  1. I live in the Rangsit area (also 71) but got free Pfizer vaccine at Medpark Hospital back on August / September. I think it was through a Moph link. They've got me down for a Booster in March 2022. You could try emailing them: [email protected] They reply within minutes. Good luck.
  2. Yes, in exactly the same situation as you. 2 Pfizer jabs in August and early September at MedPark hospital. Just got email reply from them that next Booster cannot be given.until March 2022, as there is no "government program" to reduce the gap to less than 6 months ! Only if you got 2 x AZ can you get a Booster in 3 months ! Great!!
  3. In Hong Kong ALL the wires...electric and landline/Internet are underground. In living there 20years, we NEVER lost power, internet, phone or TV reception for a minute.....including during horrendous typhoons and other violent storms. That's the difference....they do it properly ????
  4. Interesting article. Thanks. Could they possibly come up with a more difficult name to pronounce than Sotrovimab???
  5. Getting back to Thailand for Christmas ?? Frankly, my Buddhist raised wife of 15yrs doesn't give two hoots about Christmas. Most Thais I know don't either.
  6. Jeff, I think as a qualified PhD he is entitled to be called a doctor. But I agree he is not saying the pandemic is over. It's still wait and see but with any luck, this bl**dy virus might just mutate itself into oblivion or at least something most of us can live with.
  7. Just wondering how exactly they define a "school zone "? Two new 7~11 shops have opened conveniently close to our moo Baan. Both (although a fair way apart from each other) and not permitted to sell alcohol anytime because os this crazy rule. The only schools I know of, remotely in the local area, are both Primary schools ! Have they thought of requiring ID from any "younger" person trying to buy alcohol, like they do in most of the rest of the world ???
  8. Something happened with SARS 1 (l lived through it in HK) . But before a vaccine was (fully) developed, it seemed to eradicate or self destruct itself. Let's hope for the same outcome for bl**dy SARS 2.
  9. Haha..love it. Had a colleague in Aviation who had to spend some time in HQ. Ran into him one day in HQ and he was walking around with a clipboard and pen. When I enquired what exactly he was doing? "Absolutely nothing .....but If I walk around the office like this, scribbling nonsense onto the clipboard, people think i'm busy" ????
  10. ???????????? I remember being in Malaysia and driving with a local who got stopped for something. So chats to the cop and then turns to me and asks if I had 50 ringgit ? I only had 100 and handed it over. The cop gave back R50 change...at which I was amazed. My friend just told me that the cop was just corrupt, but not dishonest ????????
  11. Plus. Posting international mail at a post office, and doing anything complicated (like getting a new bankbook or card) at a bank. Passport required !
  12. As I see it. The actual "electricity" wires are mostly a few and up high, way overhead (as in the photo posted earlier by another OP above ) 90 % of the tangled mess of black wires are telecom/Internet wires placed there by TOT and the like. And they add to them almost daily. How would these go underground ? Seems every subscriber in our moo Baan has their own black wire...including us.
  13. I think what you've highlighted is Thai nationals returning to do 10 days AQ Quarantine. Not those fully vaccinated who will return doing the arrival PCR test and one night in the hotel awaiting result. Exactly the same as foreigners. But I agree if the 10 dayers or on the same flight it's a bit stupid. Also, I believe that certain (most?) airlines like Thai and Cathay, Emirates etc require it anyway.
  14. Please share the current link to Thai nationals (who are double vaxed )not needing PCR test before departure and after arriving in Thailand. My wife returning from Hong Kong does !! All she is exempt from if the Insurance requirements
  15. And Macao. Air Asia used to fly there direct pre covid. Much , much larger than Las Vegas..and only 2 hrs away. Those boys won't be happy with casinos starting up in LOS.
  16. Was planning to take my thai wife to Oz before Covid. From memory it was hundreds of AUD, non refundable, and about 14 pages of tourist application form...even though she's been there several times before. Just about as crazy as here !!!!
  17. They did that in Hong Kong too. Had both cash prize lottery and at least on new apartment (condo). All of which were donated by wealthy businessmen and families.
  18. By comparison. Worked in Hong Kong for 20years in the "skilled" category as a."civil servant " After 7 yrs, given Permanent Resident status and equivalent HKID card. Married Thai wife after living there about 5yrs. She was then also given Permanent HKID 7yrs later. Both can work there, almost free medical, and can own property and all the other benefits. No 90day reporting, no annual extensions, no financial requirements, etc, etc. Compared to living here on 12 month extensions, everything in wife's name...need I go on???
  19. Perhaps these ignorant morons should research history and find out from where and how these Lao speaking rice farmers came from. Originally, it wasn't by choice !
  20. Well that's what my Thai wife will have to do overseas before returning. Doesn't have a computer or printer or the slightest clue about uploading documents. She will HAVE to rely on local embassy staff to do the whole thing for her. Plenty of other overseas Thais and elderly people who would also be in her position !
  21. Slightly diverging from Thailand, but my PayPal account in Hong Kong, linked to a big Hong Kong bank (many years) has suddenly required that an OTP be sent to my (HK) phone or registered email, before the account can be accessed , and money withdrawn or transferred. This is new. Never required before. But luckily it's not used much.
  22. I've been doing marriage extensions at PT for many years and they have always advised when they will make the home visit....especially as you have organize the witnesses too!!
  23. My year 7 teacher said in my report that I had no grasp of maths and would never excel at anything involving it. I ended up a Commercial pilot for 40 years. Guess they got that wrong. (No crashes by the way)
  24. My Thai wife, who is overseas, and does not have a computer, is computer illiterate anyway and wouldn't have a clue about uploading documents. Her ONLY alternative will be to go to the local Thai Consulate /Embassy and get them to do it.....like they did her previous COE a year ago. Must be the same dilemma also for any "aged" person, thai or not, to tackle this web version of Thailand Pass. PS. She has to come back in January for my next extension. Things might have got easier by then? (She is double vaxed with Pfizer )
