  1. Interesting ! I did use it once in Singapore pre covid....but it was done like at Lotus using a machine and entering PIN. But not tried an."online" purchase. The roaming charges for AIS sim card overseas are outrageous, so I remove it and just use wifi..
  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand there is NO requirement to do a TM30 when traveling around Thailand,or even going overseas IF you return to the same (registered address.). Only needed if you move to a new permanent address. I travel around everywhere, never do a new TM30!! Do 90 days report online using my permanent Thailand address.
  3. I too have a BB "BE 1st" Mastercard Debit card and purchase pretty much anything I need online like airline tickets, hotel rooms etc both locally and overseas. Only slight hassle is that BB usually send a OTP to your registered phone number before the transaction is approved. Might be a hassle if overseas and you change SIM cards !
  4. How would the "high spending folks" know one Airbus from another (except the A380) ? My wife came back on thai on an A350~900. That is both new and nice. And A300~ER...?? Give me a break! As for "rotting"? Some people know nothing about aviation.....especially the many hundreds of aircraft being stored outdoors in deserted locations all around the world. Most will be airworthy quickly if needed.
  5. Wrong. Emirates allow unlimited date changes, options for other flights, full fare refunds etc...at least if THEY cancel your flight. Just been through it as wife's Emirates flight to Hkg canceled (or delayed 7 days) due to ban imposed on them for bringing in 3 or more passengers who tested positive on arrival. Wife rebooked for next Tuesday without any charge.
  6. Just booked my wife an Emirates ticket to Hong Kong. Just over B4000 (one way). About the same as a ticket to Phuket during and pre Songkran ! Not too bad
  7. There is no day 5! Get up to date. You're given an ATK to take away and test yourself. Nobody ever demands or checks the results of that ATK.
  8. Having received 2 free Pfizer shots late last year at Medpark, Bangkok, I waited the required 6 months (no way Medpark would administer in less than 6 months. The MOPH regulations. Then after contacting them all the free government Pfizer vaccines were gone (allocated ) . They offered a walk in Moderna shot for B1640. Did that yesterday....almost nobody there. I could have hunted around but this hospital has excellent staff and facilities. New vaccination certificate provided and Mor Prom updated. Hell, I could easily spend B1640 in a week on booze! Money well spent? Maybe !
  9. I recently did mine on the new system via my PC. Submitted April 4th, due on the 9th. Approved in a day or so, but new date in June 30th. So 87 days from submission. (Pathum Thani)
  10. At Pathum Thani they visit EVERY year....covid or not. Need 2 neighbors with house books and ID cards which I dutifully copy in colour for them on my printer. Never speak to me, only a little bit to wife and neighbors. Photos inside and out with our "witnesses". 30mins all done. Total BS. (Rolled up in a BMW "smart car"....I think they like to get out of the office ????
  11. How about "footpath" ? That's what they were called where I grew up !
  12. My wife just recently completed it at Novotel in Pathum Thani. PCR test was negative. On checkout was given an ATK in a plastic bag for day 5 with clear instructions to either upload the result to Mor Chana app, but if not possible, to take a photo of.the result and email it to the hotel where you stayed. We did the latter.
  13. Sorry to hear your woes. My wife just returned, and everything arranged by the hotel (Novotel) in Pathum Thani. Airport pickup, direct to partner hospital for PCR test then to the hotel. Everything, including breakfast, included.....as detailed on their website before booking. PCR result available early the next morning. Refund for "day 5" no problems.
  14. Agreed. Same here. Hotel is one of the Accor group. No problems.
  15. I contacted Medpark (Bangkok) where I got my 2 Pfizer shots last year. Polite email reply confirming that my FREE Pfizer Booster shot would be available (under the government program ) after 14th March (6 months ) with a link to book a day and time. No walk~ins permitted.
  16. My wife just returned on Test n Go. On checkout was given an ATK test for day 5 (free). Inside the instruction paper says to upload the result to Morchana, but if unable, email a photo of it to the hotel you stayed in. Did that, and never heard again. (The ATK test was negative ) The more pressing issue is getting the refund for the Day 5!
  17. Wife arrives today from Hong Kong. Got TP late last month with days 1 and 5 prepaid. Hotel (Novotel ) confirmed by email yesterday that day 5 booking will be fully refunded "under new government regulations ". Their online booking policy, at the time of payment, was "no refunds and no date changes" So at least some are being reasonable.
  18. You do not need the RT PCR test for the Thailand pass. The TP is applied for and QR code issued long before you get the PCR test which has to be within 72hours of departure. That test result must be shown at checkin and again on arrival in Bangkok. Please check your facts before posting!
  19. I've sent documents to Hong Kong recently using EMS and Registered Mail through Thai post. Both are trackable and have arrived within a few working days. Registered mail was less than half the cost of EMS. Both were handled quickly and efficiently by the Thai Post office. Prices are on Thailand Post website.
  20. I stopped taking statins years ago. Too many side effects as described above, plus memory issues. Watching YouTube "the Statin wars" (and others) finally convinced me that, for a possible 1% improved chance of not having a major event, like stroke or heart attack, it just wasn't worth the cost and multiple side effects.
  21. Great ! Just when I've paid for NON refundable, NON changeable days 1 and 5 at a SHA Plus+ hotel in early March, for my returning Thai wife! I guess any changes will take time, as everything does here.
  22. Wonder if Medpark will follow suit? Had to Pfizer there about 5 months ago.
  23. Just to be clear. I think you can go in a couple of weeks early (maybe 30days?) Without a.y big hassles? Mine (marriage extension ) is due March 25, but plan to go about 15th.
  24. Because the hammer and sickle do not appear in any Chinese national emblems or flags. Perhaps you're getting mixed up with Russia ?
  25. As a HK permanent resident, I read that they are reducing the quarantine to 14 days after February 5th??
