  1. As per title, for local social security health insurance which is registered to one government hospital.

Is it possible to use this insurance at a different hospital than the one named on the card.

For instance, if card indicates Hospital A and emergency treatment is at Hospital B, how can it be used?

Was recently told at a hospital B, cannot use here and must pay cash, but my understanding is it can be used.

How to collect back the money paid?

Thanks for that.  Do you know the number of this form and is this the latest version?

Do they require all the usual paperwork, such as extra copies of photo pages, stamps, extra photos etc.

If extension was done at Chamchuri One Stop, could this transfer stamp process be done there, or is a trip to Chang Wattana required?

It can be in more than one account. You will need letters from the bank for each account and bank books updated on the date you apply.

Thank you.  Does the account balance have to exceed 800K for each of the 3 months, or do they look at an average.  If it was zero in Months 1 and 2, but 2,400,000, in month 3, this would average out to 800k over 3 months, even though only 1 month had the funds?

  4. Hello

Looking for step by step tips on how to do this in Bangkok ,for both non Imm B on 12 month extension with work permit, and spouse on Non-imm O dependent 12 month extension.

Presumably cancel the WP first at One stop shop.

Can the extensions then be converted there on the spot, or is a trip to Chang Wattana necessary.

Is it required to have 800k THB funds on deposit for 2 months before doing this?

If so could the funds be held in 2 separate bank accounts under same name, or do they have to be consolidated into 1 account?

    Thank you for advice!

    1. Use the same number - it is to your benefit to accrue more payments under the same number.

    2. Not if the employer correctly registers you. If you have a work permit then the employer must show proof of your social fund payments to obtain and renew the permit. The same thing for a 1 year extension of stay.

    3. Yes.

    4. I can't answer this as I'm not retired. I'm sure another member will be along soon to help out.

Thank you, that is very helpful!

  6. A bit of complex one here, so help appreciated.

    1.  Previously employed and paid into social security for several years

    2.  At end of employment and "retirement" took over payments personally through bank deductions  in order to keep local SS health insurance

    3.  New employment under different employer who wants to start making deductions for this.

    Questions.

    1.  Is it best to give old social security number to the new company and resume payments through them (after cancelling personal auto bank deductions ), or is a new social security number generated.

    2.  Is it possible to just continue with the self-payments and ask new employer not to make the deductions or are they mandatory?

    3.  Will all this result in a similar situation whereby the payments could be resumed in the future after "retiring"

    4.  Upon this next retirement, what is the exact procedure.  Have heard that it is possible to recoup all payments made as well as continuing health insurance again

    Thank you for any advice.

If it's from a few years back it will have expired already, so not sure why it's an issue. But if they need it formally cancelled you can do that at the labour office yourself using the work permit cancellation form. Either an employee or the employer can cancel a work permit.

Thanks for the helpful advice to all...does somebody have a copy of that form that can be filled out?  Is the fine still 500 baht?

You got that right, CK Mansions is well known for its dropouts, drug addicts and dregs of society also why would you want to stay Kowloon side when your business is on HK Island.

can I suggest you google HOTELS HONG KONG ISLAND WESTERN DISTRICT, many decent but not expensive hotels in that area and easy access to the tram that can drop you off practically outside the Embassy.

    good luck

Nothing wrong with Kowloon and with the MTR it is actually incredibly fast to Admiralty.  Thanks for the google tip, but I was looking for actual recommendations.  As for Chungking, I would probably rather sleep in an abandoned stairwell or on a park bench.  At least I would get a bit of fresh air that way and not have to worry about a fire!
