    Is your wife/gf Thai?

Because if so she can get all care, including the delivery, free of charge at a government hospital. Needs to be the one which covers the area where she is registered in a tabian ban, but registration can be changed if necessary.

While waits are long, care is of good quality. Be forewarned that unnecessary c-sections are usual in private Thai hospitals.

Also be forewarned that the rpice of delivery packages at private hospitals in no way represents costs that will be faced if any complications occur.

There have been people on this board who made the mistake pf delivering in a private hospital because they could afford the price of the delivery package, only to end up facing bills of several million baht because the baby needed intensive care etc. And it is difficult to arrange transfer of a critically ill newborn.

Some of those people, years later, are still paying off debts to the hospital.

Thanks for info, it is for a foreign female. Could you provide modified advice?  Thank you.

if you don't want to spend much, i suggest as well to go to the clinic on Pattaya Klang for all the pre natal chuk up. It is still there, and the doctor work in Banglaumng Hospital, so he can advise you.

Do you know the name of the clinic and the exact location?

I think it might vary from province to province, so I'm curious what would happen in Pattaya, too.  When I lived in Hua Hin, a neighbor had his meter removed after about two months of non-payment while he was away.  It was quite pricey to have it reconnected, and they did not come out promptly after he paid up.  ISTR it was three days he waited for them to come re-install the meter.

One time (also in Hua Hin) I never got my bill, so didn't pay, and a week after the due date they disconnected the live wire from the meter.  It was easy to just slide the wire back in after I paid the overdue bill and late fee.  The PEA truck showed up the next day to reconnect, but I had already done it the day before.  Another neighbor said I could have slid the wire back in and had power even before paying the late fee.

    Interesting....any other ideas out there?

I might do that going to Mukdahan if unwilling to take the bus. There is anyway no way by air to reach Savannakhet in time to apply for a visa the same day. Returning to UTP is really inconvenient. The return flight is mid afternoon, too early to catch the same day you receive your visa. Unless you fancy a night in Ubon anyway, this would not be my choice. Fly-ride service to Don Muang the same afternoon/evening you receive the visa seems better in most circumstances.

    What is fly-ride service?

  5. After re-entry from abroad.  For retiree, can this be filed online by the hotel or condo office where staying upon re-entry, or does the applicant have to physically go in person each time.

If there are 10 foreign trips within a month, does this mean 10 trips to immigration.? What if arrive late Friday night and depart Sunday morning?  It would be impossible to report.  Woud this mean a fine next time?

Sorry but very confused about this.

  6. Could someone kindly explain the actual procedure and docs required for the spouse of a retiree ( on 12 month extension) who enters on a Non Imm O single entry to convert to 1 year extension of stay.

Can they do it the day after they arrive in country or do they have to wait until last 30 days of the 90 day entry.  Also what docs would be required?

    Thank you to all!

  7. Question for the experts here.  For initial  non-immigrant O 90 day single entry application of a dependent Indian spouse (less than 50 years old) of a retiree already on 12 month extension, VFS India is stating the retired spouse who has the extension of stay should have work permit and letter of invitation from company required. (requirement checklist attached)

Seems to be a contradiction and impossible requirement, as a retiree has neither a work permit or a company invitation letter to provide, does anyone have experience with this?

    Thanks for advice

A copy of your bank book for the previous 3 months, at least, is a standard requirement. I always include that as well as my bank manager's letter confirming my balance and recent foreign sourced deposits.

Are you saying that an income letter by itself will not be accepted at Jomtien, but must be backed up by bank statements?  Any others with experience on this?
