Jury finds Donald Trump sexually abused E. Jean Carroll in civil case
Purdey replied to Scott's topic in World News
I guess Trump already paved the way for this verdict when he boasted how easy it is to grab 'em by the p*ssy. He let people know what an old goat he is. https://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/08/us/donald-trump-tape-transcript.html https://www.vox.com/2016/10/7/13205842/trump-secret-recording-women -

Thailand anticipates scorching summer with temperatures up to 44.5°C
Purdey replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
We can expect even hotter temperatures because, well, you know, there is no such thing as global warming. -
For a country that went around the world and boasted about how great their country was, there ain't half a load of people complaining when those they conquered believe them and want to find out for themselves. The Brits could have developed the colonies, in which case people would have stayed at home. I agree with the OP that Brit complaints about migrants and the US border wall complaints are both deflecting internal issues onto others.

Thailand aims to become Asian aviation hub, says prime minister
Purdey replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Focusing on the giant snaking lines of departing and incoming passengers would be useful. Where will they find the English-speaking people to deal with the extra passengers, I wonder. -
Young Thais want Pita to succeed but admittedly, it is still touch and go.

OK, not picking a fight but just stating what I know. Wikipedia keeps track of Trump's false and misleading statements. Not that others don't lie but it is the sheer number that mark Trump as a winner. I noticed that Trump thinks Truman wasn't prosecuted for dropping the atomic bomb because the office of the presidency gave him immunity. I just don't know why he didn't ask why Richard Nixon didn't have presidential immunity. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_or_misleading_statements_by_Donald_Trump

Heightened security around Constitutional Court on Pita’s judgement day
Purdey replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I think most Thais know that the regime will try to get rid of him so no surprise there. While he is on trial for owning media shares, not for the policy regarding a change to section 112, I guess there may be a little bias because of his party policy too. -
German president’s state visit to Thailand after 22 years sparks hope
Purdey replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Srettha: Dear President Steinmeier, please invite your high tech companies to invest here so we can achieve Thailand 0.4 4.0 Steinmeier: Certainly. Please tell me about Thailand's educational level compared to the rest of ASEAN. Srettha: Ummm. -
Prachuap Khiri Khan officials undergo anti-corruption training
Purdey replied to webfact's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am News
Just stick signs up in Thai in every administrative building and police station. Corruption: You will go to prison for 20 years! Also, create an anonymous whistleblower website that states that evidence, in the form of video, photograph/photocopy or audio must be uploaded as proof (no gossip). -
I had assumed that in America, like many other places, that if a judge were recused, fired or set aside, they would simply get another judge? Presumably, all documents would be handed in to the new judge and the case would continue based on facts and law. What bearing would it have on the Trump case except timing?

Pink Id card for foreigners
Purdey replied to Enquiry123's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Same here. The officer wanted my parents' names, address and phone number. I told him both were dead. Still, he wanted the phone number. I gave it to him and asked that if my parents answered the phone, please let me know. He nearly fell off his chair. -
Pink Id card for foreigners

Tend to agree. But also, for security purposes, passports are harder to counterfeit. -
Pink Id card for foreigners
Purdey replied to Enquiry123's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I applied for the pink card following receipt of permanent residence. CW immigration told me I could use it as ID and I have at hotels outside Bangkok. Since then, I converted both social security number and tax number to the pink card number (one number, three uses) hence making life more convenient. Easy to carry in the wallet. I know some banks want the passport, mainly because they haven't been told about the pink card. -
America and Iran step closer to the brink of war
Purdey replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Since independence, America has only had about 20 years of peace. Somehow, I am not surprised. However, I just hope that Europe doesn't support it. -
Move Forward confident that Pita will be cleared in iTV shareholding case
Purdey replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thai politicians. Always "confident", never cautious, aware or prepared.
