Motorcycle Accident in Pattaya Claims Life of a British Man

Your "smart" advise could also be valid for sitting on a Bar-Stool, or Toilette, at different venues, in different, more or less, sinister locations. Long and winding, prejudicing "Banana" assumptions, without any confirmation. So, stay at home, and put your helmet on! -

The un-, or availability of cctv footage will be announced, "after" the surveillance of it. -
Exactly. If Pop has enough money, he can even “buy” the entry to one of those many, so-called Universities. And, if it's necessary, even a 3rd class degree. This might open the door to an admin-, or behind the counter job, in a “5-star ghetto”, and other “tourism” business. Or as a “supervising” photo-copy shoveler in a 7/11 branch. Due to the lack of English, even at “University” level, a low paid government job (“ the best to rest”), in a nice, and “respected” uniform is mostly preferred. The rest can be happy, to get a job as an “unskilled” laborer, or maybe checkout girl/man, in 7/11-kind enterprise branches, for the minimum wage. All other carriers, are basing on a decent, expensive education, or the individual's will to self-educate. The System aims, and provides the needed all round education only in very small margins. To change that, it needs a large part of the above-mentioned, 3rd class, “academic”, work-force to be replaced.

Recycled SIM Card Number Sparks a Year-Long Ordeal
Maitdjai replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
That's the logical explanation for the issue. A canceled number should be locked a decent amount of time before resale, marked as "Recycled" for a certain timeframe, and sold with a discount. Then, it would be up to the customer to take that risk, or not. "Part of life" is, that this is "Lalaland" 5G, where everybody is infallible, and nobody cares. -

Thailand Unveils 10-Year Visa to Attract Top Global Talent
Maitdjai replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I'd say, this is a bit exaggerated, and therefore not many foreigners can achieve that in Thailand. Those people get mostly hired directly abroad, and even paid from abroad very often. Besides that, it's not the Senior Level, where the demand is. It's the hierarchy mid-level, and below, where professional (theoretical and practical skilled), and motivated employees are needed. There is the big gap, due to the archaic education system, and by that, the individual mindset of many employees. With conditions like above, every Thai with a 3rd class university degree prefers a government job (best to rest), where not even English is necessary. The itself repeating, ridiculous visa jokes, are rather telling, that they don't want “Experts”, or skilled people, they want the money of the those. How many Thai Companies/Enterprises paying the demanded salaries? If they do, how many jobs they're offering? -

Thailand Unveils 10-Year Visa to Attract Top Global Talent
Maitdjai replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You've to read this twice! Big dreams of "hubs, leading, global, etc." again, by a "new" badged, old visa type. Everything will be implemented at the end of June. Lol. To achieve that, they need heeps of international experts, paying competitive salaries, competitive working times, and social security (6/9 a week, public holidays+1 week payed leave + SSO is surely not). In addition, a workforce of "willing" people (maybe Chinese?). Everybody, who worked in the copy shoveling, administrative sector, in Lalaland, knows what I mean. When it comes to ignorance, laziness against effectiveness. And some "cracks" think, they can achieve their sky high, delusional dream targets, by issuing a new modified copy, of already failed, visa types. If you've a nail in your foot, you can walk only in circles. -
Anutin Joins PM in Pot Stand, Urges Arrests of Foreigners

The link to your source is quite useless, because, at least, I'm not spending 199.- Euro/Month. To get stuffed with TAT (crystal ball, three-zero digit calculator key) numbers from 2019, which I can get everywhere. You're partially right about the relative weight of the spending by residents. But Thailand is in economical trouble anyway. With, or without, the mentioned “if” numbers (“$9 billion USD per year”). If they're getting desperate for every single tourist, and tax $, these 9 Billion USD should be an amount to consider (“A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush”). Instead of questioning the independence of the BOT, with the aim to throw out (printing money) cheaper loans, and dispatching “digital” 10000 Baht wallets (to fulfill the election “deal”). Just deepening the depth crisis of the private household sector. Another copy of the false recipes of many western economies. Btw, with all this (also small scale) building, and cementing of every square meter at every corner, obviously, there seems not to be too much lack of “cash”. -

Again. Monopoly shaped market situations are “preferred”, because it makes the CEOs life much easier. Everywhere. There is only a difference in “support”, and shortcuts to achieve it. PTT: If the westerners caring too much about their values, and PTT steps in, without giving any care, doesn't say anything about competitiveness. Red Bull: I doubt that the 50% Thai holding is contributing too much to the international marketing, and success of the brand. But maybe, “Boss” is conducting the enterprise from the background, wherever he is hiding. (Lol). Carabao: Let's wait first for the international success, beside the song “Made in Thailand”, and the “Carabao Cup”. CP Group: Who and where, are the other chicken exporters from/in Thailand? Bought out, I guess. Etc? BKK Airways: Would be bankrupt within one year, without the Samui monopoly! Thai Airways: Was already bankrupt, not due to COVID, but due to the incapability of the management. And it's still disastrous, as the ridiculous, but arrogant handling of the recent “5000 Baht hush money/B-Class seat issue” shows. Not to mention the still open refunds of cancelled tickets during COVID time. More? Licensed assembling (“Made in Thailand”), Agricultural exports, mainly to the ASEAN region, and China. Beside all exports, even those exports are declining. Technical invention? Zero-Nada. Building: Concrete mania, like there is no tomorrow. Tourism: A self running “golden goose” got, and gets hampered by smart statements, and flip-flop decisions. Hubs: ??? -

Nice numbers! Farangs "living" in Thailand, and the spending of Chinese "overseas". Two different scales. You've "assimilated" to Thai calculating? If they're legalising casinos, some Chinese might come even twice to Thailand, instead to Sihanoukville, or "overseas". The potheads getting milked one more high season. Maybe even longer, but only If the revenue gets lined into the correct coffers. Pathetic, or desperate, while facing the looming recession? I'm not sure. -

Maitdjai replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It's all about the money, and hijacking the big cake. The plan is to establish a monopoly. They're kicking all the (8000?, I guess there are even more of these "medical" pot-holes) small guys out, like in other sectors too. If Thai, or Foreigner is a secondary issue. "Foreigners", is just distracting from the true aim, as it works momentary well. Thai companies are unable to stand any competition. The most, only can achieve prosperity, in monopoly fashioned markets. Otherwise they are overwhelmed, and blatantly failing. No need to name examples. Anyways, the "recreational" Pot-Paradise will disappear. They jusr gonna keep it up for the next high season, as a magnet, to milk tourists (safety first). The choosen date (April 2025) is quite telling. -

Sure they have those data. But it's not an so "easy" effort for the ITs, and the administrative "cracks", to handle, and filtering it out. If your main engagement is producing and shovel photocopies.
