Expats angry at huge concessions in latest Thai visa announcements

Calling your dumb, childish assumptions always an "assessment" doesn't make those less empty, or more relevant. -

Come on, don't hesitate. You're yearning so desperately to show off. Now you have the opportunity. Lol. -

Sure, idiots are always convinced, that they're correct, and all others lost their minds. That's one reason, why its so difficult to help them. Anyway, as long, as there is no threat to the public, no sedation, or (mental) asylum is nessecary. -

Dear Mr. "G_Money", (the nicknames often tell, what to expect) too many obsolete assumptions, kitchen table analyses about me (you don't even have a glance), and all those "deplorable" (?) Expats. If you're a Trump supporter, you should learn from him, not from social media! He tells you, "It's all fake". So all of the smart conclusions you make in your ivory tower, might be fake either. Btw, "Opportunists" shouldn't talk about "Pride". One attribute is taking out the other. -

Wow, I thought at least the REP was included in the "bargain" package. So even the "Elite" program is not carefree. Containing hurdles and ripp-off traps hidden in the small print. I wonder if and how many holders had the experience of a personal wake-up call. -

Oh, now it's getting visually "creative". I'd bet after you learned that, you came to the conclusion, that you belong to the first group. -

This is the empty, unreflected, nothing-saying reflex of stupid opportunists, within the TiT expat cloud. Lol. -
Man Kills 2-Month-Old baby in Thailand, After Mother Refuses Sex
Maitdjai replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Rai News
To make it short: This is a disgusting, only in this case Thai, deplorable subject. Not a "man"! So, we partly agree and also disagree... I'll let it go for now. Nobody can save the world from shxt like that. Cheers -

You don't like "Yanks"? You prefer "Coconut Monkeys"? You don't like "Krauts"? You prefer "Pommies"? You don't like "Spics"? You prefer "Hamasholes"? Etc., etc.! Where is all this "Respect", a word which many of you hypocrites always abusing, and mumbling about? Just disgusting! -

I think the incident reported in the OP is terrible, and quite outstanding enough. To me, it doesn't matter what nationality, or what "tribe" this sick subject belongs to. You came up with Gaza, Syria (you'd forget Israel, Oct. 7th), or the "real negative" things. And then, in the end you talk about bashing, and beating husbands in the UK? Killed by their wives, to end their martyrium? With all due respect to the individual destinies and consequences. That's whataboutism, and to me an inadequate relativisation of the incident. Smashing a toddler to death, in retaliation for not gettig sex. Cavemen style. Period. Sorry. -

Sure you can share what you want. I can comment on it how I want. And I decide by my self what I ignore, or don't. What you described, I can see everyday in the news, without "brain plopping", no worries. I don't know where you lurking around, that you know, what's "real negative". The infant "comic" language at the end makes it even more credible. Lol. -

So, and now? You're a pathetic apologist, and your moralizing whataboutism doesn't change anything about this incident. "There are so many things going on in the world, you don't even know about it." Lol. No need for sharing these wisdoms! It's sufficient if you know it! -

No. But I have to confess, that I don't have knowledge about "Timbuktu" bank accounts. Anyway, "cash is king", especially for "stoneage" account holders. -

I was anseering on a comment! If you've read it also, you'd know, why I mentioned "WP". On VE you don't need a local DL. You need it from the 90th day of a continuous stay. But you need a "valid" international DL on VE. Unfortunately, the days to open a bank account, just with presenting your passport within 15 minutes are long gone. Btw, electronic payment is possible with every halfway sophisticated foreign bank account. If not use cash! Those people fiddling with their apps in 7/11, to pay 23 baht are annoying anyway. Finally, "Residents" are usually not on VE stamps. Some individual, temporary exceptions only confirm the rule. And I don't think, that those are urgently needing to get a DL, or bank account during this "special" temporary time. Even, if they don't have it yet. -

Sure, with dodgy agencies. They're even advertising on FB. Everything in 1 hour... By the rule, at first you need a residence certificate from the IO to obtain a DL (for example). I doubt, if IO give that to you on a VE stamp. For what reason? What for, a VE "tourist" needs a DL, bank account, or WP? To buy a property? Lol. All of this is the intention of Non-O and -B visas. The circumvent only "works" in "bulk" processing, beneath connected pals from "certain" agencies. TiT. Dodgy demands need dodgy processing. -

The 50-year threshold for retirement visas is your point. But even under 50 years, there are choices, as I mentioned. The only thing you spare is the "annual" renewal, and the re-entry permits. Tm30, and Tm47 are still mandatory. Only the handling is different. You still have to provide the information to somebody from some "Elite Visa" agency. In all other cases of EoS, you can do it online, or by an agency, either. The "big" audit comes also, only later with the same scrutiny, but ridiculous fees. Anyways. Sure it should be evaluated! Or better scrapped at all, like many other visa types they offer. Sometimes, it seems to me, that the "creatives" of the visa "hub" don't even know, about the different types they already have. When they "proudly" announce a "half-cooked" new one, or a half-cloned one with a new name. Instead of streamlining, and optimizing the present ones, always additional (temporary?) ones are created. Like with electric wiring. instead of fixing the broken wire, just pull a new one right beside it, without knowing, or thinking about the purpose of the old one. Result: Confusion -

I can't follow, why you are constantly insisting on the "Elite" Visa? Are you working for the company issuing it? That would explain it in a way. Or, you want to show off, that you're a "retired" millionaire, younger than 50 years, and a "Elite" visa holder? So, then you've chosen one option. There are still others, also not cheap, for young wealthy "retirees". Having much more to offer, when it comes to business, investment, and more. "1 million Baht is not a lot of money" (maybe not for you). But the 800K deposit (no fee!) in the own account, or 65000/month into a TiT bank is suddenly a "significant" amount of money? So, the "young" wealthy clients (under 50 years) you're addressing, can always find a way to stay in TiT long-term. It's just a matter of choice, and the will to pay the price. Including the possible Tax residency! Another disadvantage of the "Elite" visa. But, in my view, why should especially "Elite" Aliens not pay taxes. Winging is strictly allowed! -

Really? As it is essential to know about your license plate (in the context), it would be also interesting to know, "who" told you, that you're not required to change it. -

In TiT everything can be called "5*, Luxury, VIP", as long there is an AC, and it's shining at first glance. If someone "buys" it... Also, the asked prices of many dodgy projects vary on the stupidity of the "investors". The big awakening comes, when it comes to legal scrutiny, or the construction is just falling apart. The Kao San Road degree "Engineers, Real Estate Experts", and the money is only over the next hill, but too far away. Only lawyers might rub their hands, during ever-lasting, in the end resultless civil court cases. -

The fact is, Non-O, or -B, is still the "key" visa for many variations of EOS, and even more. You can ditch it, for the DTV. To get a "Nomad" of whatever sort. "Bagpacker" might suit. Lol. If they flip-flop the rule, you're starting over, right from scratch! No worries about taxes, tm-30, -47, or residence (at all) anymore. Lol. "Bad" guys could say, it is a temporary tool to clean up, when the time seems right. And "Digital Nomads, Muay Thai" boxing trainees, and cooking course attendees have become obsolete again. -

179 days plus 5 seconds makes it 180 days. And eligible to get a taxed resident. Including reentries. I don't get this fuzz and the winging about the tax regime anyway. This country must be crowded with "Alien" Dollar Millionaires, thinking about a "Gipsy" life now, to evade tax paying in TiT. The rates, including many exemptions, are very comfortable, compared to Western countries. -

In 2003 it was still "raining" money with no end in sight. Easy task, then. 24/7 tourist business for anyone, even street vendors. But stupid regulations by "green desk" jockeys followed later. "Never change a running system!" Nowadays in sheer desperation, clueless activism is the last resort. -

That you never had problems to open bank accounts, with every 30-day border bounces (including the "Triton"), sounds more like a fairytale from the "good old times".
