few questions if anyone has some input much appreciated 1. Is it correct that the 1st and 5th day must be a "SHA Extra Plus" hotel not just a "SHA PLUS"? 2. Does this have to be the same hotel? or can it be totally different hotels in different locations? 3. On booking dot com website, there seems to be no option to pay for the Covid test for these "SHA Extra Plus" hotels, they just advertise the room only. But during reservation we must pay for Covid test as well? 4. I seem to remember somewhere it said hotel reservations must be at least 15,000 baht is that right?

Understand your in Thailand, but I always thought that in the UK a house would have all sockets on a ring main that went to a single breaker? And then all lights were on another breaker. my dad was very confused when he saw our house has like 18 breakers! Even with 5 aircons, and kitchen oven/hob/heater, that’s still like 12 breakers for sockets and lights. And the electrician here likes to wire by location so all sockets and lights in a particular area of the house are on one breaker, etc, as we move around the house.

Yes that’s what I was hopping to do. Should the electrician just cut the cable and put a new plug on it, OR should they replace the cable at source where it connects to the dryer. btw the double socket is Panasonic brand.

The double socket is on its own 20A breaker for Washing and dryer only.

yes often we have both running at the same time, and rather not have to reach into a small space and unplug/plug machines regularly. i like things neat and tidy and dont want an extension lead running around.

Plugging both the Washing machine and tumble dryer into a double socket looks like the photo, i.e. difficult to do because of plug pin orientation. So I used an adapter plug to get more room, weve been using this adapter plug for laptop, rice cooker, fan etc for the past few years. But the adapter plug melted! Why? does not having an earth do this? or is it the high current draw? What should we do to plug these two machines in, we only have the double socket and I rather not put another wall mounted socket next to it.

When buying an AC unit from say PowerBuy for example, Im assuming the compressor comes with the AC unit? Its just they never seem to show this, and when i look on Lazada, its always just showing the AC unit, but they must always come with the compressor right? but i still dont know what grass it actually is? If i put the wrong pre emergent down i might actaully kill it. I can see no other way but to order bermuda grass seed from the US via Amazon, then i know what grass i actually have. Also were we live the "Japanese" grass is 50 baht SQM but the bermuda from seed is only 19 baht SQM even after shipping.

They sell per SQM a grass they call "yar boon", this seems to be the only grass they sell here in Thailand (apart from elephant grass which i dont consider a grass really), and they also don't seem to sell grass seed here either, just the pre grown SQM pieces of "yar boon", im going to cover about a 300 SQM area. But what grass variety is this? does anyone know? All the garden shops ive asked just say the thai name and cant give me the actual specific grass variety it is, but it all seems the same, they are all selling the same varity this so-called "yar boon". So what is this mystery grass? Its important since when I buy other products like pre-emergents for killing the weeds, I must get the correct one for the specific grass type or it wil end up not only killing the weeds but the grass as well.

So if my dad came from the UK via Dubia and entered directly to Phuket to stay in the sandbox for 7 nights, (fulfilling all the other red tape and criteria) can my family who live in another province 1) Go to phuket and stay for 7 nights somewhere else in Phuket when he is there, and meet during the day? 2) Or even better, stay in the same SHABA Certificate Seven (7) nights SHA+ hotel as he is staying in? thanks

yes used the 60 day wife visit extension last year to season the 400k in the bank, so cant get another one of those.

yes but they said they wont issue a covid extension to a person on a Non-O visa, hence they said it must be cancelled first. anyway, tomorrow ill find out what they actually end up doing

They clearly said that they wont give Covid extensions to people who came with Non-O visas. Well I will be going back tomorrow to try and get a Covid extension and we will see what happens

Great logic, my Non-O expired on 02 Dec 2020, so they cant cancel it as its already expired. My 1 year extension of stay expires on 22nd Nov 2021. I believe they were trying to say they will cancel that extension of stay, and then put me on a Covid 60 day extension. But then what are they "extending" for the extension, I have to have some kind of permit to stay to get extended, right? They cant issue visas at immigration so they cant switch me to a tourist visa and make the "extension" on that can they?

Yes Samui wont accept 12 months of transfers from abroad, say I need 400k in bank for last 2 months.

So just been to Samui immigration and they say for me to get a Covid 60 extension they will have to cancel my Non-O visa first. Cant extend Non-O due to Samui Immigration not accepting the 40k per month incoming from overseas into my account. So after they cancel my Non-O after the 60 days I will need to leave and get a new Non-O? is this correct?

Something simular happened to my passbook. I put it into one of those machines for an update and it chewed it all up and printed stuff all over the place and missed out a whole chunk of transactions, so now my passbook doesn't actually show the 40k each month coming in as some months are missing.

well compared to bouncing back via Heathrow in London, id say its a bit of a saving

rent was 30% lower than what is was before Covid, so quite happy with that as they paid upfront, and that was the first person to see it who took it, and had a whole line of viewings that i then had to cancel

Thanks, probably just go the Covid 90 day extension as I did the 60 day visit my wife extension last year, so not sure I can do that again. do you think an agent could get the 1yr extension with just the bank book?
