Question on Visit the wife 60 days visa?
FARANG KIWI replied to sup3r1or's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Even better news! The 30 + 60 can then be extended by an addition 30 days ( 30 + 60 + 30 = 120 Days in country ) This is offered and provided at every Immigration Office ???? I do this as often as I require..... Means that you only have to leave Thailand 3 times per year Max.... -
Still using days of the initial 30 day Visa exempt..... About 16 days still to run then the 60 days starts ????

Fair question.. Only realized once I arrived home and scanned it into the PC!!

How to get tax id number with non o?
FARANG KIWI replied to Topah's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I had the same request for a TIN recently from First Direct bank in the UK. As I was staying in Thailand on visa exempt and extensions ( and not a citizen or resident ) they eventually accepted that I was UK based..... -

Chonk Mek - Border Bounce - Report.... So drove to Chong Mek Border from Korat. Using a UK passport. Parking was tight around the border point however took the last parking space on the main drag. >> Departed Thai Immigration - no question \ no issues at all. >> On the Laos side - visited the Visa on Arrival counter Had form pre-printed and already completed It was a Sunday and the requested amount in Thai Baht was 2,000 Asked why so expensive and was told prices have gone up Sticker put in passport and proceeded through Laos immigration >> Went straight back to Laos Departures No question \ no issues - the man just said 'you go back now?' >> Entered Thai immigration entry point Fingerprints and a TM6 form had to be filled in ( do not know why need for TM6 ) Again no issues \ no questions - was given the expected 45 day stamp >> All in took 50 minutes as it was our 1st visit at Chong Mek It was easy please, smiles from officials on both sides all the way. Would definitely use this location for a Border Bounce again.

Anyone else noticed that TransferWise UK > Thailand now takes till next working day? A few weeks back it was 7 seconds! Anything to do with UK change to Winter time? -
Looking \ planning to do a Border Bounce next month at Chong Mek. Any feedback from anybody that has recently been across just for a new 45 day stamp?

Border hop to Laos (no visa)
FARANG KIWI replied to JoseThailand's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
UJ, I require to do a 'Border Bounce' early in 2023. Nong Khai, Mukdahan and also Chong Mek ( which I had never considered ) are all 5 hours away from my home, so from what you wrote about Chong Mek sounds an attractive option! - What are the parking options\ parking charges at Chong Mek? - No Bridge and no Buses also makes it sound like a care free option. - Are there any 'extra charges' levied by immigration staff at either side at Chong Mek? - Ubon is always a great place to stop off for a night or two... -
Not striclty true about 30 day first. Just last week extended ( on Married to a Thai basis ) from Visa Exempt entry to 60 days. Yes the Immigration Officer suggested you can do 30 + 60 however explained only needed 50 days becuase leaving Thailand and no further questions. 60 days issued from a visa exempt. Hope this assists.
