To the best of my knowledge only Thai immigration offices can issue a 1 year marriage extension. I have done 15 marriage extensions at a immigration office and the list of requirements is long. You need your bank book updated on the day of application showing the 400,000 baht in the account or a bank statement showing 12 monthly deposits over 40,000 baht each if using the income method. I have never heard of anyone getting a marriage extension at VFS.

Try telling that to immigration. They want to see 1 monthly deposit of 40,000 baht or more, 2 separate deposits won't fly. A friend of mine tried to combine 2 separate deposits and was told no way. Of course the OPs IO might be different but I would advise a visit to explain what you intend. Remember you must have 12 monthly deposits before you apply for the extension.

If you get legally married this will be much better for you in the future with regard to visas for everyone.
