I haven't attempted 'regular' bread much in the past but did this one last night (after 12hrs of lettin' the dough rise)

turned out OK and like it sez, no kneading required...used 2/1 white and wheat flour..gonna havta start making more and gettin' into a rhythm...sure beats the local 'farmhouse' garbage at tescos...but I can only get the flour at makro at the changwat which is a drag...

cut offa chunk this morning and slathered with the pate/liverwurst from the changwat and it was delish...a great way to start the day...

Was inspired by your bread and pate but couldn't open the recipe unless i joined the mailing list. I found this http://pinchofyum.com/no-knead-bread and want to give it a bash. However it calls for a "6 quart enamel coated cast iron Lodge Dutch Oven or similar"... please may i ask what type of receptacle you used? as i do not have a dutch oven.

    Thanks.

to be fair, that section of the road look closed to traffic, with the albeit sparse placement of the concrete blocks and all, the driver here thinks he can outsmart the rest of the schmuck waiting in line by  overtake/undertaking all of them using the under construction road... serves him right

Yes.. it is like the drivers who pull into gas stations and drive straight through hoping to get 2 cars in front of their original position in a traffic queue.

  3. With respect.. i see it over in 5 rounds. and another win for Mayweather.

His last/final fight against the Haitian was awful, but i think he has too much. I am looking forward to see if MCG can create any other angles that the Pac-Man or other numerous challengers/trainers could not see.

    Lets see...

  4. A similar response to Colin, we used Bquik recently and found them good all round. Did not try to use old off the shelf tyres (showed me the manufacture date before i asked),, did not try to upsell or imply we needed anything else etc

Aftersales free aligning check if 4 tyres are bought as far as I can remember.

Just a thought as they are a nationwide chain.

  5. Words fail me for this, whether the child is 2 yrs or 12 yrs.

The so-called parents of this child for their total irresponsible behaviour.

The mafia operators basically sticking two fingers up to any safety guidelines put in place after the sad death of the Australian gentleman.

Will probably see some idiotic smiling operator on the television telling everyone "that is safe, no problem, the safety harness is a free size"

Hopefully as it is reported by an outside newspaper, something will get done... however i doubt it.

    Leave Thailand physically.

(Before “ Enter Date” on visa) Mid May 2018 -- Mid Aug 2018 entry permit 90 days.

Mid Aug 2018 -- Mid Oct 2018 extension 60 days in BKK.

Many thanks again for your feedback and knowledge.

    Best Regards.

Sorry, quick question, my first "permitted to stay" is valid until 16th August, if i go beforehand for a 60 days extension in BKK like the 14th Aug,, do i loose the 2 days?

    Thank you.

You must leave every 3 months, or get a 60-day extension at immigration to visit your Thai-family.  After the end of that 60-days, you still need to leave, after which you can return and repeat the process.

Leaving and returning just before the "enter before" date on the visa, then extending that for 60-days, can give you approx 17 months from this Visa.

Near the end of any of the "permit to stays" obtained using this visa, you could opt to apply for a 1-year extension-of-stay at Immigration, which can be renewed annually without leaving the country.

    Good afternoon,

I too have a 1 yr Non O multi-entry from Sawannakhet and my first permitted to stay until is 16th August meaning i should leave the country on or before this date. However, i saw your post, so does it mean i can go to immigration in BKK (where i live) and get 2 months extension before i leave the country for the first time on this visa ? ...which will then become 16ish Oct?.

Then i do this again each time?

Apologies, but the mention of 17 months has confused me.

Thank you so much for any feedback.

    Best Regards.

    I got my discount.

The agent took photos of the installed dashcam working, and a copy of the invoice with my name on it.

    Hi,

How did you manage it?.. I mean, you got your quote and then informed them that you have a dashcam and got a further 5%?

We have had a rep from a different company quote us (cold calling) and then when my wife said we had a dashcam, the rep said the price quoted was with dashcam discount..though they wouldn't know if we had one or not.

Just curious how you went about it as ours is due early August.

I am guessing your did not change insurance companies.

    Thank you.

It sounds like there were no witnesses.

The decedent's family need to hire a competent, independent accident   Reconstructionist.

Hopefully, paint transfers, skid marks, gouges and measured distances will support the truck driver was not at fault.

The truck driver as no duty to look behind him when making a left turn.

Sorry i disagree.. any sensible driver should look behind (using all mirrors available) when when turning either left or right onto another road.

That said, the number of times motorcyclists try to squeeze into gaps is nowadays ridiculous. The worst i see lately are these half off-road / half on-road type of bikes.

  11. Holy smoke.. that is a beauty of a yorkshire ( my mother would be proud of that)and the fish a good colour like what i aim for.

I got some garlic / pepper tempura flour as recommended by Metisdead and there was barramundi but i didnt get any as i was unsure. Only now at home  i found out its known here as pla kapong.. Another trip to makro for me

    Cheers.

Let us know if you manage to nail it as it's always good to learn new things.

Sometimes it can be as simple as ambient temperature which can be markedly different in hot climates such as Thailand.

You could, as far as fish goes, try snakefish as it tastes lovely for a freshwater fish and is also very firm like monkfish. See it quite often on roadside stalls where it is skewered whole and slowly roasted so as be almost smoked. I don't recall seeing them uncooked (live) except in traditional rural Thai markets where they are simply knows as snakefish.

Could not find a picture but it is used in this dish,

Thanks.. would that be plaa-duk?..l shall ask my wife.

I shall revert back during my experimentation's of different types keeping a simple batter.

As an aside, we bought a rather expensive stand alone gas oven/cooker and i was experiencing problems getting my scones to rise. l just bought a temperature gauge to hang inside the oven and found its alot more accurate.

That said, l  will be using my deep fat fryer as per usual for fish and sausages etc.

    Cheers.
