  1. We have a typical roof on our house (single reddish tiles) and I am tiring of jet blasting bird crap from around the house where we have decking and driveway.

I was thinking of getting a local drainpipe installation team to block the large holes in the corners.

    Questions:

    1. I was going to provide netting that is used for fly-screens to stuff in the holes. Is this suitable and long lasting or another alternative?
    2. Do I need to only cover the large holes in the corners or all the way meaning the small holes/ridges? I have not noticed birds entering the small holes but cannot be sure.
    3. Any way to ensure birds are not trapped inside during installation? I don't want dead birds in my roof.

Any comment / suggestions are most welcome.

    Thank you.

  2. I just returned from Sawannakhet for 1 year Non O based on marriage.

Documents as mentioned above was all that was required and all very easy.

I just thought i would add, that while paying for my Laos entry visa in USD, several of my dollar bills were rejected as being not pristine (the clerk did check each very carefully).

We stayed Riverfront Hotel in Mukdahan, 780 THB for 2 persons with breakfast.

In Sawannakhet we stayed in Avalon Residence 1,060 THB with breakfast. They allowed us to check-in at 12.15pm instead of 2pm.

Paid for both from Traveloka via 7-11 as my credit card has expired.

Hope this is useful to someone.

Part of the question the OP needs to answer here is whether he needs the tablet to have its own mobile data capability (i.e., works with a SIM card), or only wifi capable for use with home wifi, hotspots or connected to a mobile phone. Two entirely different sets of tablets.

My wife has an older pre-paid sim with the number she has had for many years, and also an new "unlimited" six month sim both with True.

I was originally thinking of using the new tablet tied to her unlimited sim via bluetooth. I was going to get a tablet that could take a sim if her phone was lost or damaged.

    Hope that makes sense.

  4. Hello All,

It is necessary for my wife to attend hospital several times per week for tests and these visits can last several hours with alot of the time waiting. To pass the time she watches a video on youtube and or keeps in touch with friends and family via her phone.

I think her phone is too small and was looking to get a cheapish tablet ideally around 8 inch screen to fit in the bag that she would tie together with her phone via bluetooth for connectivity. I have read that tieing a tablet and phone does not slow it uses, but do the bluetooth need to be a certain spec?

Anyone could suggest a decent tablet for this, around 5K THB? and over the counter in BKK (her phone will be the primary tool for photos and voice calls)

Thank you very much for any suggestions and whether tieing the bluetooth's together does actually work well.

    Best Regards.

  5. Hi,

I was looking for rice for one in  separate packs as I wasted the last 3 pots of steamed rice. I have used "Uncle Ben's" (like boiled but thats ok) in other places and was just asking if there are similar here?

Wife is off rice for a while already and will be going forward.

Any suggestions as i checked in Tesco and Big C but couldn't see it as a small individual rice packages.

    Thank you.

So it's nothing to do with the rich middlemen losing out, who buy the tickets off the Government to sell to these sellers, making a small fortune for themselves for doing very little, apart from being rich ?

    Well said.

It was actually mulled over years ago to sell tickets without the middlemen, I actually know a gentleman involved in the feasibility study.

As stated, this will never happen.

  7. Hi Guys,

Looking for some advice, do any of you use the home appliance food steamer?  We have a steamer sauce pan which is tiny but wish to steam more different foods like fish and vegetables together.

Yes i can buy a bigger pan and steam more but i was just wondering if the home appliance like Russel Hobbs with layers is easier.

I guess maybe a lot of clean up.

It will be used daily probably for lunch and dinner if that is any help.

    Thank you so much.
