Much faster than 4G?
so what's the fastest 4G speed you've experienced in Thailand?
in Europe 4G+ supports 300mb soooooo are you really sure you want/need 5G OR are you getting sucked in by the marketing and consumerism? ????

fyi that router is pants ???? it's only 4g which means only up to 150meg...the 300 on the spec refers to the wifi speed
soooo if it was me I'd spend a bit more and get a 4g+ router which then supports up to 300meg LTE speeds
but HI 5 on the router attached to the concrete post! Can't beat a good 'lash up' lol

@Adumbration as an FYI not all routers and aerials are the same.....not trying to point out the obvious BUT some of these manufacturers are disengenuous; no surprise in this day and age ????
I've been doing some research myself (I'm in mainland europe at mo) and '4G LTE' comes mainly in cat4 and cat6 flavour, cat4 does up to 150mb, cat6 up to 300mb methinks (often called 4g+ or aggregation)
dunno if cat6 is widely available in Thailand?
Also see this router pic? Methinks it is only lte cat4 and the 300mb on the front is referring to the wifi speed! sneaky......
I was looking at some tp-link routers recently...one was 4g compatible BUT you needed a usb dongle to use a 4g sim, it had a single round aerial for wifi
Another one had a sim slot built in......it had 2 LTE aerials! (no wifi aerials from the sounds of it) and both aerials were flat....
here's a 'dodgy router' pretending to support lte cat6....

Most of models/versions available can do 0-60 mph in less than eight seconds.
and then top out at 90mph? cos they have the aerodynamics of a brick sh!thouse...and handle like one too

Movin parts are MORE likely to go wrong.
especially in heavy things like EVs eh? have you noticed the number of fat people who keep needing replacement joints? I think there's a bit of a trend going on here ????

Do know what a PHEV is? It has a 1.5L turbocharged engine AND an electric motor so 201km of EV only mode plus whatever range is available from the petrol tank
riiigghhttt, something else totally pointless made for fat stupid people? ????
I'll let you into a secret, this woke, 'green revolution' ain't gonna save the planet.....the sun controls the climate and ironically it's all these 'fat consumer wallies' who are destroying everything with their uncontrolled consumerism, stupidity and total contempt for all the wildlife and vegetation on the planet ????
God save the clown world......

christ that's the fugliest thing I've seen in decades.....and WOW a 201km range........I think I'll leave you all to it, this 'strange new world' is obvs not for me.....and I still like wiping my own ass rather than let an oppressive govment or a 'highly intelligent' vehicle do it for me ????????

I will ignore your attempts to compare my new car to your 8 year old.
A new 173 hp Honda CRV costs more than than my 284 hp car.
not sure how much your 284 hp car weighs but personally I'd take half that and in something that weighs a ton or less lol
AS much as we love technology, my point is that 'new' doesn't necessarily mean better....
I've had a few CRVs that I bought brand new in a previous life, I wouldn't have one again.....generally the 'fat consumers' nowadays buy em with tyres and wheels that are far too big and it renders them fekking useless in the snow and mud ????
the SUV turned into a fashion statement ya?

What is this 5G??
that's the stuff that fries your brain....so I wouldn't overcomplicate things with that just yet ????
is there anywhere in/around/on top of your house that you can actually get into double figures with the download speeds?
how are you measuring the dBm signals......I must admit this is confusing me; in over 20 years of using mobiles/internet/working in IT etc I've never had to measure dBm signals so I'm fascinated I'm missing out on a 'great adventure' ????????

I power it for free with excess solar production in the middle of the day
and you think that this makes no economic sense!
doesn't it mostly depend on what you paid for it?
ie your leccy 'box' might cost 30 grand but an eight year old Honda Civic might cost a tenth as much, have 5 times the range, twice the performance and cos it's a Honda it never goes wrong ????
ok I acknowledge petrol costs a lot more than it used to but errrr there's a helluva price difference to buy some petrol ????

Well I'd rather follow the recommendations of independenet experts than the vested interests of the fossil fuel industry
there aren't any 'independent experts' though! They're all funded/bribed by someone with a VI! I agree that the oil industry has created massive problems...like when they decided to destroy the rail networks in Europe cos it was more profitable to have everything on the roads......
From a moral view I agree big oil sux ass BUT from an investment perspective they're going to make plenty of moolah over the next few years.....mainly cos this 'climate change' is a load o <deleted> when the SUN still calls all the shots ????
PS I love technology, I wish we'd concentrate more on ebikes rather than lardy motor vehicles that have a terrible range......and I think hybrids are a complete POS

Ekectric cars are only part of a raft of measures needed
who is to say what is genuinely needed? The only certainty is the world runs on propaganda; if not why are there so many fat eejits in the west? lol
We need to consume less and an EV is pants if you live in the middle of nowhere.....whatever happened to keeping a 15 year old Peugeot running? I guess they were too lightweight for the fatties eh ????

Just tested my True 10mbps Sim on testmy.net.
Down: 3.1mbps
Up: 93kbps
never heard of testmy.net - the benchmark is normally speedtest.net
I get 89mb with them but only 71mb with testmy...
in my experience of living in foreign countries, you either get good reception or you don't......although houses with thick walls can have an impact
I concur with what someone else has already recommended, get a proper SIM router and attach an external aerial to that

A friend has done similar.
Carbon fibre frame from China and fitted a Bafang M600 motor.
Good for 60km/h and 80km range.
post some pics, that sounds awesome!

Jesus you must be living on the cheap if you can do it for < 400 Euros a month! House paid for or not it would cost me more than that in cheese alone.
But if you're offering me a swap for 400 Euros worth of French Red.... Where do you want her delivered to?
cheese is cheap too, ride a bike, don't drink alcohol.....
Westerners consume too much.....
Has anyone mentioned how much the average Thai lives off each month? ????

5G in Thailand. What is your experience?
in Mobile Devices and Apps
Posted
just looked at that AIS website, 4.5G gets up to 880mbps.......I'm sorry but if you need more than that you need to get a life lol
seriously a 100mbps landline on copper is plenty fast..........if I can upgrade to a 300mbps FTTH connection next year and get a 200-300mbps mobile connection you should be happier than a farang in a girly bar.........then concentrate on other interests lol
