Thailand as i cannot leave the country to get a visa as i only have 2 pages left in my passport.
You don't need to obtain a visa.
However you need to leave Thailand border bounce and reenter visa exempt.
After entry obtain a non O retirement and subsequent extensions.
Not having to leave Thailand would have been an option if on good terms with wife and could change your extension to one based on retirement.
Seems not possible.
Obviously non O and extension has more difficult financial requirements.
If you cannot meet these you could consider use of agent.
Edit: after thought..You could pay the wife to attend immigration for the change of extension to based on retirement.

Which 1 stop did you use? My tm30 is in nonthaburi. Not bangkok
The one stop is related to BOI.
If you live in Thailand on for example retirement extensions you need to attend immigration office.

OP, you have outlined the requirements very well....
The results are in and the verdict for ongoing living in Thailand is ..
....non O and subsequent extensions.
No insurance requirements.

As it should be.
You had a reentry permit and you presumably returned to your usual place of residence.
Good to see CR is up to date with current laws.

You will almost certainly be asked for a copy when doing any visa extension/renewal.
CM yes.
CW no.
That's the beauty of Thailand.
Rule #1 : Rules are not required to be applied with any consistency.

TM30 is general required for extensions to tourist visa and visa exempt entries.
Certainly in Bangkok.

Simple, ín the airports, they are using the flight boarding pass, As an entry slip
Not related at all.
Presenting boarding pass to io on arrival has always been required.

Might be a silly suggestion but why not take a close up pic of house # and add it to your photos

There was no change of address!!
I posted rules regarding need for TM30.
That was reply to another poster.
Along with clarification for others.
You stated ...
"IO did not to process my visa extension without an update to the "Notification of address" in my passport."
I cannot help you with your immigration office.
TM30 should not be required for extensions.
The fact that Korat is rogue office is your issue.
Why complain about my posts as couple of others have.
Your immigration office sets your hurdles.
I'm outlining correct rules re TM30.
Your post also included this...
The answer was very clear:
"Just start to count for 90 days at the date you enter the country and report then for 90 days stay".
That refers to tm47 and was not my post.

I just returned from overseas and I live with my Thai GF in her home and have for over 4 years.
If you returned with a reentry permit then no need to file TM30.
As usual it depends on your immigration office.
Regards your request for residence certificate immigration should not have required an updated TM30.
Your most recent TM47 should have been sufficient.
Bottom line is unfortunately you need to do what your immigration office requires.
Which immigration office do you deal with?

Not a problem.
For that period of time for your return to Thailand what visa etc option you opt for depends on period of visit etc.
Plenty of guys (still working in home country) visit for period of months each year.
Plenty of options for married guys eg 60 extension to visit wife etc etc.

thank you
did they ask you if you want it the same day or you asked them/told them ?
Please report back your experience.
At CW it's 200b and no option for same day service.
It's mail out and can take 1-2 weeks.
May not be an issue as might take you that long to get appointment at Transport office for your TDL Renewal.
I'm also doing mine soon and you may like to check out motor forum.
There is online test you can do.

In your mind with your IO!
As we all know there are NO hard and fast rules that pertain to every IO!
I suggest you give people a break and stop pretending that you are the "authority" on Immigration/banking etc, etc!
I always state that folk should check with their own immigration office.
There are approx 75 in Thailand.
I post what are the correct current rules for TM30 after trips to other locations including travel abroad.
Guessing you are unaware of the requirements.
The fact that some immigration offices do not follow the rules is unfortunate.

Really?
Have explained the current requirements for TM30 for expats living in Thailand several times.
They are actually very clear.
Now on ignore.

In some threads dealing with TM30 it appears that CM are using rules that are pre June 2020.
The message you received online seems to indicate they want you to do a new TM30.
Absolutely ridiculous.

I was under the impression that the suspension of the TM 30 reporting for long term folk was only temporary because of Covid. ie they did not want lots of coughing people going to IO offices.
You are under the wrong impression.
It's not temporary.
Samui is just another crackpot immigration office.

If flying into Ho Chi Minh City it's a good idea to have about USD 200 as the extortion at that airport is rampant.
Have NEVER had an issue.
Clearly your paperwork was not in order.
Why were you refused entry.

might head to Philippines or Malaysian instead, or Hong Kong, kind of thinking of the Philippines but man Vietnam would have been perfect, cheap and close by. Kind of sucks canada doesn't have good relations with them, maybe cause the vietnam war?
Just one person's opinion but for me it's a no brainer.
Saigon airport close to Bui Vien district 1 and fairly quick on bus from airport.
20k dong.
I recently went return airfare 3500baht.
The evisa is very simple.
3 business days for processing. $25usd.

The first extension and only the first restarts the 90 day clock.
Correct.
However some immigration offices do a 90 report at same time as extensions.
They should not as report has nothing to do with extensions.

. An immigration officer told me they basically think like this , a genuine tourist comes to thailand once, maybe 2 or 3 times a year going back and forth between their home country. If your not doing something like that they would investigate further
I guess that's why they make an METV available.
Granted does require exit reentry every 60/90 days but basically enables (almost) continuous stay in Thailand of 9 months.

Thank you so much.. sorry for asking but what is tm47 ? Is it 90 days report?
Yes.
Your 90 day report.
At CW it is 100% required.
Not sure about Nonthaburi

How to show insurance if the annual policy has not renewed yet?
You would need to chat with your insurance carrier to find out when new policy can be purchased.
Hopefully someone that has done this previously towards end of validity of the non O-A can post first hand experience.
