What does very early mean? Do you mean decreases amount of time spent out of Thailand. Depends on your history. For border runs seems now best advice is to use border run company. They facilitate smooth process. Recent reports of folk being made to stay 1-2 nights out of Thailand. Even at Nong Khai. Err on the safe side. Thinking 3 better option. When you attend immigration for annual extension using money in bank method the immigration officer should check carefully at the banking records back till previous extension. I can confirm (personal experience) that the io even looked at the two months PRIOR to day of last application. If someone used an agent for previous extension then there is no proof of compliance. One way out of this is to "start over"

Assume that your wife is non Thai seems she you are trying to "piggyback" her on your extension as a dependent. She needs to have entered Thailand on a Non O. What's the plan re future. To live ongoing in Thailand?

Of course the Stamps are issued by immigration office. The agents obtain extensions based on retirement. The financial requirements are checked retrospectively. Immigration should have seen that the requirements were not met.

First up ...good result that you obtained the extension. I'm very surprised as for previous extension you used an agent. I assume while your bank statements can show 12+ monthly transfers of 65k (min) that not have been sufficient. The io should have checked compliance for money in bank method. My last extension Nov 5 using money in bank, I had a chat with head the head io L34 at CW. I signaled my intention to change to income method. I already had been transferring monthly amounts. FWIW she clearly stated..."keep 800k in bank next 3 month" I've gone a step up and currently running both methods in concert. IMO you got a lucky break.

Non O single entry is available in nearby countries. Savannakhet would perhaps not be best option. As from start of 2025 only e-Visa is a available. There is no online payments available. It could take several days ++ to obtain the Non O marriage . A better option is to obtain a Non O from visa exempt entry. However that requires 400k in bank on day of application.

Are you asking about a teaching job? I assume that you are aware the 400k for Non O marriage extension only needs to be in bank for 2 months prior to application for extension. 400k in bank of day of application for Non O After final stamp in pp the funds can be used. Have you asked immigration about 60 day extension to visit wife.. That would buy time to obtain the Non O.

It should be possible however some immigration offices have refused (from posts in this thread). Be aware that even if your immigration office refused the 60 to visit wife, you could alternatively obtain the 30 day extension. Seems you travel out of Oz and also have Thai wife. Be aware that obtaining a Non O marriage eVisa in Oz provides 90 day stamp and you can obtain a 60 day to visit wife to that permission of stay giving 5 months with one visit to immigration. (wife needs to attend)

For those planning on the 30 and 60 extensions then it must be done in that order. If you obtain the 60 to visit wife first then you won't be able to obtain the 30.

Yes have read that. Can't recall if one was KK . Thing is immigration should issue the 60 day extension. Just typical variation of Thai immigration offices. Cut and Paste from ubonjoe in older thread...... "You can apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife. It does not matter what visa you used for entry. It can even be applied for to extend a visa exempt entry"

So all good with current flight being within 60 days. For future reference be aware that since you are entering visa exempt you have the option of obtaining another 60 day extension "to visit wife"

Agree. I suggested DTV however given he is married to a Thai national he can just as easily obtain Non O marriage+ extensions. Deal with the guesthouse in the future.

Your plan will/sould be fine The return flight to Oz will/may be required by airline for return to Thailand. Any questioning by immigration on arrival back in Thailand, point out flight to Oz. Being Oz I assume you are aware of need for visa to enter Vietnam. The visa exempt entry will cover you till start of July. What is date of flight to Oz. Seems outside the 60 day stamp

Did you mean "ify on combination method"....?

It's the interpretation by the immigration office that counts and anyone considering "combination method" for extensions should check with their immigration office. Some will require a certain minimum balance. A common "formula" is 400k money in account and monthly transfers of eg 35k (retirement) Won't bother correcting rest of your post
