COVID extension documents
DrJack54 replied to TPDH's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The docs are the usual photocopies of pp pages. Identity page tm6 last entry stamp most recent visa or extension stamp. TM7 with photo. May require TM30. Affidavit. They will provide that.. Tick second box. You will receive approval or otherwise on the spot. You have a non O ? Be prepared to answer why your not obtaining extension to your non O. At CW there is print photocopy picture stall lower level if you overlook anything. -
Basically same as what I did last Nov apart from that with bank book just provided photocopies of bankbook pages. Don't understand why you only needed 3 months. Naturally my bankbook pages were checked right back to previous extension to make sure that I complied with the financial requirements. How does 3 months statements cut it.

That's very disappointing. I can't work out their game. I agree with your earlier comment re covid extensions continue till such a time that land (some) borders are open. Fact is if land borders were open and flights to places like Vietnam half possible then covid extensions would not be necessary. With "test and go" gone, I can't for the life of me, see why immigration are being so negative. As per your comments re "onward flight" rent a ticket. I was under the impression that these where fully booked AND CONFIRMED flights. Must look into it. The airlines at departure for flight to Thailand for visa exempt travellers specifically looked for "CONFIRMED flight" a simple booking won't cut it.

OA visa extension question
DrJack54 replied to Markmakmak's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You are required to have the 800k in Thai bank account 2 months prior to application for extension. Regardless you should open a bank account asap. They cost 300baht. You can not extend you visa in Holland. If you exit Thailand and reenter prior to expiry of your non O-A you will be stamped in for 12 months. You will require 400/40 insurance for extension. Think best you indicate your longer term plan for accurate advice -

The Siam thing is rubbish as your agent pointed out. Think I'm jaded. Can't understand why folk don't just don't use money in bank method. Can't afford that then use agent ongoing. Perhaps 15k per year. -

I recall a similar situation. The immigration office was flexible. Guess worse case scenario would be to use agent. -

Could have highlighted your whole post as I agree . Picked out this bit in particular. The insurance requirement for non O-A folk is a joke. Strangely think Phuket do not insist on it? One sensible immigration office. Many folk killing off their non O-A. Not surprisingly. -

Thanks for post. I thought it was the other way round. Meaning Bangkok Bank was the bank that was Wise go to bank. No matter, what you outline will work for those using income method. -
Good suggestion. Means those trying to obtain covid extension and if worst happened and io insisted on onward flight you could make up excuse to leave to obtain printout and then show ticket you mention. Hopefully this bs for outbound flight will not be required. Someone I was assisting had bad experience re onward flight, however obtain his covid extension last Monday. No outbound flight.

My query about which office was to another poster. In any event your not alone in your frustrations. It seems daily posting similar to your experience all involving income method. I guess it suits many. Personally can't understand it for marriage extensions as thinking their money in bank method very simple. Ultimately depends on your imm office. Some use income method without issue. I'm Oz so yes income method for USA , UK and Oz became bit more difficult when the income letters ended. I use money in bank for retirement. It's a breeze. -
By all means you can pursue that. I live here and have annual extensions. Not that long ago I wanted to open FD account with Bangkok Bank. They wanted residence certificate or embassy letter. BTW my embassy does even supply that. Be warned that obtaining that from embassy in Bangkok can take time. A residence certificate in Bangkok required a 90 day report, which you would not have. Even then that certificate can take up to 2 weeks from MTT. Bangkok Bank also wanted something from my Oz bank. Complete joke. Use an agent.

Just the 2 months prior. Note if you were previously using income method for your marriage extension then those requirements would have needed to be followed. If it was money in bank for marriage then just 800k two months prior to your application for extension retirement.
